Google Assistant I made a useful Android app. I hope you find it useful.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

So, I've got a few Google accounts on my phone and I'm switching between them frequently. The bummer is that when I get into the car and I happened to be on my workspace account, if I want to do something with voice, it says to get my Google Workspace Account Administrator to allow it (the voice action). So, then I have to either live without voice actions, or when I'm safely stopped, I have to switch accounts manually.

Not anymore! I vibe coded this app with Claude and it's been saving me tons of frustration. It resets the account on my Pixel when it detects my car's bluetooth and it resets the account on my Pixel tablet when it detects that it's docked (another annoying facet of multiple accounts). Then, it stops Android Auto (it'll start back up under the designated primary account). It's free, doesn't require root and doesn't go out on the network for anything. It does require accessibility access to do the account switching.

I hope it's useful for someone:

Navigation & POI Apps Let's all band together with feedback for Google Maps traffic

I just sent feedback to Android Auto that the traffic line indicators on Navigation view need to be BOLD. Like they used to be. If we get tons of people doing the same, maybe they will listen. They did listen to us that traffic needed to come back in general. But it isn't perfect yet. Does everyone agree or is this a me issue?

Uncertified AA Apps (Headunit Reloaded, AAAD/AAStore, etc) LumoraPlayer in Android Auto, Parked Car Only!

Hey everyone!

I've been working on Lumora, a lightweight IPTV and personal-media player for Android, Android TV and Fire TV sticks. It's a player, not a provider: you bring your own sources, and Lumora brings them together in one interface.

THIS WORKS WITH ANDROID AUTO WHEN YOUR CAR IS PARKED.

Install: https://github.com/LumoraPlayer/Lumora/releases/latest/download/Lumora.apk

On Fire TV, enter code 9528194 in the Downloader app.

GitHub: https://github.com/LumoraPlayer/Lumora

Discord: https://discord.gg/cNKYGhQWvq

It works with Xtream Codes, M3U/M3U8 playlists, Stalker Portal, Jellyfin, Silo and Plex, and you can run as many of them at the same time as you like.

A few things I'm happy with

- Android Auto, parked use only. The full app runs on the car screen while the car is stopped. It's not a driving feature.

- A proper TV guide. Scrollable EPG grid, now/next info, reminders, catch-up (where your provider supports it) and DVR recording.

- Movies and series merge too. The same title from several sources becomes one card, and resume points and watched marks sync with your Jellyfin, Silo or Plex server.

- Duplicate channels merge. Multiple feeds of the same channel collapse into one entry at the best quality available (4K → FHD → HD → SD), with instant fallback mid-playback.

- Made for the remote. D-pad friendly, and tested on Fire TV Sticks from the 1st gen to the current one, a Sony Bravia and a Samsung phone.

- No paywall. Multi-playlist support, EPG and recording are all included, with no account and no telemetry.

- 26 languages plus English.

AA User Interface Spotify shortcut triggers a call to the last called number

On my Yaris I have 2 issues:

  1. When I make a phone call (and finish it) and then click the Spotify icon, it triggers another call to that contact. This only happens once after finishing a call. It happens even if I wait an hour between finishing the call and clicking Spotify.
  2. When I start the car there is about a 50% chance that I will see the song and artist playing on the small screen in front of me. The rest of the time that screen stays black (only shows car related info but nothing AA related).

It "fixes" itself when turning the engine off and on. But will most likely happen again next time.

Tried updating the AA and Spotify apps, and clearing both apps cache.

Took it to Toyota dealership, they updated the head unit but nothing changed in the AA behavior.
Anyone encountered these issues before?
