What?? My 7 years old OnePlus 7T Pro that uses Samsung panel had that...?? Not that I notice any difference, guess I'm not sensitive to this kind of stuff.

Samsung Flagships are kinda infamous for taking a million years to add things that should be the standard in high end devices

I wonder where did they see that...

Samsung is understandably paranoid about battery tech lol

Frankly, it is kind of surprising that Samsung is retaining the frankly niche Privacy Display

What in the word count AI slop is this article

i actually switched from samsung to honor just because of that. samsung is getting too comfortable in their dominant position on the market. chinese manufacturers have been having these for years, along with silicon carbon batteries. and i am generally against chinese phones because of the software (one ui is superior), but my eyes got so sensitive that i had to switch

I'm in this boat myself. Been seriously seriously looking at the Oppo Find X9 Ultra which on paper is streets ahead of my S23U, should be a no brainer, but the software is missing so many little features that make the Samsung phones great

What a world we live in when Samsung software is no longer considered a minus but actually a plus. Time travelers would be so confused.

Ahh I remember the TouchWiz days

Exactly. I miss many features I got used to on One UI.

Streets ahead 😂😂

Hopefully it's a hybrid system so black levels are good at low brightness.

That's a relief if it becomes standard, I've noticed my eyes strain more with static screens at night than I used to.

Never would've guessed that samsung uses persistence displays. Never noticed a difference between other brands before so I guess it doesn't make much of a difference.

Tribalism. Shit's a poison.

I thought iPhone users were rabid but Samsung haters are the same. They're just phones.

u/WillWillingson 2d ago

They're just phones.

Yeah, they're just extremely expensive devices that you use the whole day for basically everything. Who cares.

2

u/nosurprises_please 2d ago

Yeah, they really are just phones. You can get really good cheap ones or top of the line expensive ones, doesn't matter, as long as the person enjoys what they're getting.

u/WillWillingson 2d ago

as long as the person enjoys what they're getting.

But when they don't, they aren't allowed to complain?

u/nosurprises_please 2d ago

That wasn't implied? Look at the parent comment

They don't need to, their biggest market in North America, has been engineered to remove the notable android competitors.

They, just need to barely match Apple to sell

Nor does Scamsung have 10-bit displays, which are basically standard on Chinese phones nowadays, with some even using 12-bit and 144Hz.

Scamsung only follows Apple, so this must mean the next iPhones will likely have DC dimming.

u/TrailOfEnvy 3d ago

I thought Apple already use DC Dimming 🤔

1

u/James_Vowles 2d ago

most phones dont have it

-2

u/AdoringCHIN 3d ago

K. I'll file that under who gives a shit. If you prefer your shitty Chinese phones go buy one

-2

u/Y-Bob 3d ago

Heh, well you've clearly never used a Chinese phone. The flagships are generally great.

1

u/Dpek1234 2d ago

My experiance with chinese phones is crappy synching while helping someone else

Who would have thunk it that the only option for wireless transfer maybe should have any ability to be used again if it doesnt work the first time?

Tried restarting and shutoff and on but it simply wouldnt even show the option for wirless transfer

The only way to get it back was to set it up and then reset it

You mean the iOS wannabees

Actually that's fair. I really liked my pad 8 pro until I realised it was pretty locked down. But then that's what custom rims are for.
