Education Is this just how UK primary schools are?

Reposting here - any teachers that have moved here from the US and experienced something similar? The US education system was fairly terrible and there were plenty of things I didn’t like about teaching there. However I feel like I wa given much more autonomy to do my job and connect with my students while helping them learn.

Immigration/UK Visas & UK Citizenship Proof of living in the UK for citizenship application

• Upvotes

Hi all, I'm a bit confused by the proof I need to be sending for living in the UK for my relevant 3 or 5 year period.

Situation: ILR since 2007, only now applying for citizenship because there's a chance I'll be fired in 2027 if I don't (NHS England merger w DHSC - DHSC has specific rules regarding nationalites that can work there).

On the website, it says "If you are a non-EEA National you need to include your passport to provie you have lived in the UK for the relevant 3 or 5 year period. If you do not have your passport or it was not stamped when you entered the UK, you need to include letters (for example, from your employer or government department) as proof."

So - technically speaking my qualifying period is 3 years because I'm spouse to a UK citizen, and in those 3 years I've only used e-gates when entering the UK. So I don't have any stamps in my current passport, but i have LOADS of stamps for the last 20-something years in my old passports (of which I'm sending copies).

Is it best to also just include a letter from my employer indicating I've been working there x number of years? What else did anyone include for proof (bank and utility statements are not valid)?

Edit: I'm not concerned about my travel dates, those are easy enough to know for the last 3 years. It's only the proof of living in the UK that I'm asking about.

Immigration/UK Visas & UK Citizenship CRBA Application Appointments

• Upvotes

Hi all!

Basically I urgently need to apply for my babies passports because we need to travel in December.

I live in Scotland, am I only allowed to apply at the Edinburgh consulate? It is so unclear and they don't have any appointments for months and months. Belfast does have appointments next week (I have booked there) but am unsure if they will let me attend. I have reached out to the consulates but have not hear back from any.

Any advice or knowledge is greatly appreciated.

American Bureaucracy How long to book CRBA appointment London?

I submitted the online CRBA application for my child and emailed the embassy to request an appointment per their instructions. It’s been over a week since I emailed and we haven’t received a response. I followed up again at the one week mark but still nothing. I’ve seen other posts saying it only took a few business days to hear back. Anyone done it recently and have a sense of a timeline or any way we can contact the right people?

Pets Pet Shipping UK to USA

Title, recommendations for shipping two dogs from the UK to the US?

When I went US to UK I used Airpets/Skypets paid around $5k USD. Looking to see if there are any other good companies that also do the full suite from Door-to-Door.
(Ground trans, airfare, paperwork)
