Bye Bye Amazon Flex

Well finally had enough of their BS. I have a fantastic standing, I am nice to everyone at the station even with the BS they pull. But this is the last straw.

I pull in and there are no packages. Other drivers are loading from earlier time slots. I think I’m getting released. They let everyone go and I get out to see what’s going on. The guy asks me what’s up. I said I don’t have a block. He tells me we have one we are preparing but don’t worry it’s all together.

So I wait. They come out with about 35 packages. I start scanning them one at a time as there is no map to see them in advance. When I complete and look at where they are they are all spread out over 100km radius.

So I say they got to consolidate to an area and pull the packages back. He said we don’t want to get dinged.

Well I leave and go do 5 packages that are in a 30 km radius and call support with an issue.

Will be returning them all back. They can go take a hike if they think this is the way to deal with things.

Canceled all my blocks for the rest of the week. Between racist behaviour at the stations towards drivers and these made up bs blocks they need to figure out a fair way to compensate drivers.

Enjoy everyone.

Because I wasn’t fixing to! I know the snack boxes are light and my packages down at the bottom were heavy AF! 🤷🏻‍♀️

Sub-Same-Day SSD testing out new package sorting device

Today when I was heading outside with my cart, I was approached by some Amazon employees asking if I wanted to test their new device and see if it helps decrease my loading time. Apparently it attaches to your cart, you plug your phone in to it, and it scans the packages to tell you the stop number so you don't have to use your phone for scanning.

I declined to test it. I explained that I don't normally number my packages unless I have a really full cart, and I just sort by AAA, BBB, etc. My route today was only 24 packages and mostly envelopes. The routes at my SSD are at most 3.5 hours, generally pretty small, and don't fill up half the cart.

Anyway, it just sounds like another corporate solution in search of a problem. Literally anything but pay us more or build a big enough parking lot so people can take all the time they want numbering packages while the rest of us can load up and be on our way.

San Diego False Accusations (I HAVE NOT MADE RETURNS)

Post image
5 Upvotes

Has anybody else been dealing with these emails lately? I haven’t made any returns at all, yet this is the 3rd email I get about not attempting deliveries. Support is useless, as per usual. Once again, I have not made any returns, these fake issues are not reflected on my standings but I keep getting harassed with threatening emails. Has anyone found a solution or what’s triggered these emails?!

Nobody employees at station?

I had a 5 am window this morning I showed up at 4:55 and the gate that leads to the pickup area was closed and there was no employees or drivers hanging around. I waited a few mins and I got out and couldn’t find a soul. I drove around to the front of the station and found an employee behind a window and got their attention. They grabbed another employee who came out and tried to scan my ID but it was too late. By then it was 5:14 and the lady basically said sorry you’re too late and when I asked what I should do they had no advice but to call support. I called them and explained the situation and they said they put a ticket in for me but said it “shouldn’t” affect my standing and they may or may not pay me. Has anyone dealt with this? The block stayed on my app on the ID screen for the remainder of the block. I’m expecting an email within 24 hours but I’m a bit nervous I’m just about 8 shifts in and I’ve never had a problem at the station. Will I get deactivated?

Experience with Amazon flex customer support

Post image
5 Upvotes

I was dinged for a couple of late deliveries during a 3-hour block. The two far-right lanes on the freeway were closed due to a car accident, and the traffic to get to my first stop took about an hour and a half. By the time I finally arrived, a few of my stops were already marked late. I tried reaching out to customer support, but I just got hit with some philosophical, automated BS help. How often does Amazon actually help with things that are completely out of your control? It really seems like they are getting stricter and less willing to help out.

Rant

My standing is taking a punching because of homes with a gate & leaving the package at the gate because there's no gate code. If you've done this gig for a bit, you know returning packages to the warehouse is a guaranteed ding.

So I call support. Tell them the situation. Rest of the conversation goes like this:

Driver: "so lemme get this straight, if I leave the package at the gate, I get a ding. Even tho that's what support tells us to do"

Support: "that's correct"

Driver: "and if I return the package to the warehouse, that's also a ding?"

Support: "that's also correct"

Driver: "so what should I do to not get a ding?"

Support: ".............. have I answered all of your questions?"

Like wtf? This stop had multiple packages, so I can't just mark them all as missing. And I'm not gonna jump these mfing gates to run half a mile down a dirty road with your 30lbs box of whatever & half a dozen bags.

What would ya'll do? Like frfr

& for more context, I did try to contact the cx because it was during day time. But for night deliveries, support always tells me to leave the package at the gate and carry on.

Negative Standings

I am a new driver. Sorry for the long question.
I have signed up for 5 small blocks so far. On the second they scanned my license then the app told me to wait. After about 10 minutes i was offered a longer shift and said no. I was then told I could leave and I got paid.

Then I took a route in terrible traffic and a few days later they gave me an extra $5 for the extra long traffic time.

I went in 2days ago and again they wanted a longer route. I said no. At that point I got a route but the packges wouldn’t scan.  I went to the desk and they couldn’t find my packages. They spent time on their computers and eventually they said my packages couldn’t be found and I could go home. I expected to get paid again but wasn’t.

Today I got an email saying my standings had “been affected.”

I’m wondering what I should take away from this? What should I have done?

Question Should I apply?

On the fence about this but I used to be a former amazon driver for the Charlotte area and I've been thinking about doing this job for maybe 1 or 2 days out of the week since I have a regular 5 day working job in Charlotte and was wondering if its worth going through the process of becoming a flex driver to earn extra money especially with the holidays coming up?

Violated TOS without knowing

Hello

I received an email informing me that I violated TOS for accepting payment for a block I did not attempt.

Context: I had a block that I had to end due to an emergency regarding my wife. I had to take her to the hospital. I had already picked up the route and scanned it, but I selected the end block option, scanned AND returned every package and then I left. Later in the night, I went into my earnings tab and the money for the block was there. So, I cashed it out thinking that it was all fine. Now I received that email and I’m freaking out. It’s the only time I’ve ever violated TOS. Will I loss my Flex account because of this? I tried appealing, but of course nobody really tried to help. They just said “After review, the decision won’t be changed.” Then they end chat without letting me get a word in.

Has anybody ever violated TOS on accident and DIDN’T get their account terminanted?

At Risk

Has anyone ever survived being at risk? If so how long did it take to improve standings? If you don’t survive how long until you got deactivated?

About 1.5-2 months ago mid delivery my brakes went out and I had to end my block with maybe a little less than half my stops left. Last week immediately after leaving the warehouse the same exact issue happened again and I had to return every package.

From what I’ve been able to find online it seems like the break line likely wasn’t replaced correctly last time and hopefully I’ll have no issues after this. I’ve done about 10K packages this year alone so I do routes frequently and continued doing so both times with a families members car after mine broke down.

It took about a week for standings to update but they went from full bar fantastic to at risk all in one day

Austin Cart not there

Anyone else have an issue where you get to the station get your route and you walk to the cart and noticed that your cart isn’t there happened to me today the warehouse manager and myself looked for the cart and couldn’t find it anywhere and when I called support, they told me that in 24 to 48 hours I would be seeing if I get a competition or not. has anybody else had this happen?

Story Gated community at 4am. Gate codes weren’t working so decided to leave these 2 packages for last…

I know some people will leave this at the community gate and call it a day. But I’m too new (300 deliveries) and I’m scared to get a ding. I had two deliveries for this gated community and it was 10/30 on the route. One house didn’t provide a code and the other house did. I tried the codes there were like 5 of them in the notes. None of them worked. I then proceeded to wait 10 minutes trying and looking up common gate codes. And nothing worked. After 15 minutes I decided to leave these deliveries for last. Got done with my block 30 minutes early then went back to the gated community. Saw a person outside and tried to talk to him for a gate code but he didn’t live there or have a gate code. I then tried the gate codes the app gave me and no luck. I then proceeded to try my luck of entering random gate codes and I GOT IT ON THE 4TH TRY. a minute of entering random codes. That was a big relief. Delivered and finished my block 20 minutes early. The code I got in with was #1278
