What should I do

Currently doing my normal block of 3.5 hours from 6:30 am to 10am…. They literally give me 51 stops with 59 packages… and they going to pay me $80.50 should I contact support about it because I find this to low pay for the amount of packages and stop they give me this it’s literally a 4.5 route

Every time I’ve gotten a route like that and thought there’s no way I’ll finish it in time it turns out to be a lot easier than it seemed at first.

I’d start it and if you get to the end of your block time with a ton left contact support at that point. If nothing else you’ll end up with a lot fewer dings than abandoning the whole thing

Ya stops are probably super tight. I’ll take more stops that are tight over less stops spread out all day. I see flexers deciding if they wanna do a route based on how heavy the cart is. It’s crazy lol

Generally, it makes no sense for Amazon to set you an impossible task. Not because they care about you, but because it pisses off customers and makes them look bad

They dinged me for giving me 51 stops for a 3hr. I called before I left warehouse and said this isn’t a 3hr. They told me deliver and return what’s left, no dings. Lies. I sped, ran, dropped packages quick, and still had 9 packages left.

You’re contracted for a block of time. When time runs out take it back

If you finish it within 3.5 hours, don’t even bother asking for more money. If you go over the time allotment, make sure it’s at least 30 minutes before you ask for extra money. I don’t know how long you’ve been doing this, but you should understand that number of packages and stops are often irrelevant as opposed to the Length of the block

".... You should understand that number of packages and stops are often irrelevant as opposed to the Length of the block"

This right here is why Full-time Amazon Flex has become a waste of time these days. Gas prices rise exponentially, but Amazon Flex doesn't account for those things and just destroys your tank on ridiculous routes that pay $75 for 3.5 hours. After gas, that is below minimum wage in my area. Shit is a waste of time unless you are getting surge blocks every day. Otherwise, you are burning a hole in your wallet and running your car into the ground for pay that is not substantial enough to pay bills and save up for a new car after running your current one into the ground. Getting a decent W-2 job this year was the light at the end of the tunnel for me, hopefully never have to let Bezos bend me over again and again.....

I will call support if I go over 15 minutes on my route. I just called yesterday, I had a 3.5 hour route that first stop was 50 minutes away and every stop between that was 6-10 minutes apart. I need compensation for high mileage. Call them.

My 3 hour block is normally 38-45 packages… it seems to work. I don’t understand your complaint.

Some ppl just complain. They hate it when they take a low paying block and it actually takes them the entire time.

you gotta just do it and or take a massive ding to your standings

3

u/kingodking 11h ago

Pay makes no sense yesterday I did a 3.5 block for 15 packages for literally 113

4

u/Proper_Management_24 11h ago

i feel you, some routes i get are straight ass for the pay but support will not give you a new route. best you can do is ask for additional pay. the may pay 5 dollars

u/kingodking 10h ago

Oh I wasn’t asking a new route it’s the pay… and got to drive a hour away also

Right. So look at my comment above. The contractual issue for Amazon is the time worked, or the block time, NOT because they owe you an hourly wage, but because they are “renting” your vehicle from the minute you swipe to begin your route. If you can prove you never stopped working the whole time and you go over, they will adjust your earnings because legally they cannot have you working “extra” without compensation.

I wish more drivers understood the contract we’ve all signed. It helps to understand that the way drivers should be evaluating their offers (by the average mile per route at your station) is different from the way drivers should be asking for pay adjustments (because you’ve worked past the contracted vehicle rental time).

I guarantee you 51 deliveries is over the amount of delivery requests they agreed to take when accepting the block. I have never seen more than 50 and that is usually with the 4 and 4.5 shifts. In my region the 3.5's are capped at 40 delivery requests. So if you get more Amazon is taking advantage of you.

1

u/Souvenirs_Indiscrets 7h ago

I’ve absolutely no doubt they are taking advantage. But I have checked this with my station master. He has a “policy” at my station of no more than 43 stops and 45 packages, but this is not a rule under out contract and the rule is not enforced at my station. I just finished a 3.5 hour block minutes ago that was 49 packages and 48 stops. I finished early so there is nothing I can do.

I am saying on the screen where you press accept, at the bottom it lists the maximum amount of delivery requests you are contracted to do. They can not legally go above that, but do it all the time because people do not say anything. I noticed that at an SSD I pick up from, contacted them because they had me take 50 stops, and got extra pay and the message at the bottom was changed to 50 delivery requests from 40 a week later. lol Now this is stops, not packages. They can go over 50 packages with how they word it.

u/Souvenirs_Indiscrets 5h ago

Ah ok. I only drive out of a dot com station.

u/kingodking 1h ago

It’s funny because the associate that was in charge of the carts today said “I never seen this before, but just take it and call support to see what they said” bro the people they got at the warehouse don’t care at all 😂😂

u/LimpDisc 10h ago

You chose the pay.

5

u/Souvenirs_Indiscrets 10h ago

Yes, the only way to look at this job is through averages which is why it helps to flex a lot to get a real understanding of your earnings.

Flex enacting the balancing act on you 😅

Why the hell would you take a 3.5 hour route for 80 fucking dollars? Pure stupidity! I hate people!!!!!

3

u/bherman1325 10h ago

Time to nut up, buttercup

5

u/philpottcarl 10h ago

One time I had a route that was 18 packages for 3 hours… you win some you loose some

3

u/Wonderful_Life-6280 8h ago

I know. I've had as little as 4 and as much as 48 for 3.5 hours.

2

u/AnneHizer 6h ago

Those days are long gone and not coming back

1

u/rainbowflexbow 41m ago

When I first started, a 3 hour would send me 45 minutes away but it would be like 7 packages on a country road all near each other. I would be home within 90 minutes of starting my route. I miss those days.

2

u/Ok_Pause_515 9h ago

Absolutely appeal for extra pay

1

u/kingodking 9h ago

And now I just notice majority of the deliveries were scheduled for 7am when the route started 6:30 am and it was 1 hour drive I got fuck

3

u/Ok_Pause_515 8h ago

Yea basically they got you with the bullshit man, happened to me before. I’d deff appeal, you don’t even have to call. I appealed thru the app with live chat and they paid me extra cash the next few days so deff stress that it was a high mileage route

2

u/Icy-Geologist-7631 8h ago

Theres not a chance in hell id do that route! Not a fucking chance!

1

u/kingodking 1h ago

I was going to cancel it when I scanned the cart but I was definitely going to get ding for all them packages because I think you get ding per package that it’s cancel per route

2

u/ShinyWobbuffet202 5h ago

Say the line, OP!

"I still finished early."

1

u/kingodking 4h ago

It took me a extra hour to finish everything, I call support they say they will pay extra

2

u/Otherwise_Skirt_6726 1h ago

Oh naw. I would’ve forfeited that block. High mileage , high stops. Low pay. Gonna be a hell no from me!

1

u/kingodking 1h ago

I called and they said “I’m getting compensation” supposedly they increasing the pay in 24 hours… so excited for the $5 increase 😂😑

1

u/Souvenirs_Indiscrets 10h ago

Could be! That is too many. Best thing is, complete your route efficiently with no breaks at all, no gas stops etc. Screenshot your last swipe. When the block shows up in earnings, contacts support in the chat under earnings. Do t. E ruin the pay, just Benito. The time you worked and the number of deliveries made. Good luck

1

u/Secret_badass77 8h ago

So 9 undelivered/late packages is still better than flat out refusing the route

1

u/ImRestarted1 6h ago

Definitely complain

You get paid what you accept.

It's not really necessarily the amount of packages and stops that matter. It's the the distance in time because you can have a very dense route and have a ton of packages versus a very spread out route with very few packages. So those would be the better details to share, not the number of stops and packages
