From my understanding this is an item that you buy once the enemy team has built armor and it's better to go for IE second item after collector but I'm watching his most recent youtube vod and he rushes Domnik second vs a team of mostly squishy characters who have no armor items by the point he buys it. Anyone know why? is it just always better?

Hi, everyone!
I usually play Syndra, Veigar, and Vlad in the mid lane. I’m a Gold-tier player on EUW. I recently tried out Akshan and completely fell in love with the character. I love everything about him—his kit, his skins, his personality. The problem is that I’m absolutely terrible at playing him. On Syndra, I have a 65% win rate after about a hundred games. With Akshan, my win rate is more like 30% based on the few games I’ve managed to play. This frustrates me a lot because I want to put in the effort to learn him.
So I’m asking for your help. What’s this champion’s unique identity? How do I play him in the early game? When do I spike? Do I scale as well as an ADC? How do I roam without losing a level and 30 CS?
In short, I’m open to any guides and advice!!!
Thanks in advance

I’m a new Akshan main. I usually am a more casual kinda player, but I really love playing comp. However, I don’t really know which item builds to use for certain situation. I tend to just run the classic recommendations (collector, kraken, berserkers, LDR, fire cannon, IE), but I don’t actually know why they’re good for Akshan or if they’re good for the specific matchup I’m in. Would any of you have and advice and/or recommendations?

S16 Akshan build that Im using during my Korea climb for you to copy here!
You get really high AD cause first 3 Items fullAD + Absolute Gathering and T3 berserkers 45% gives you ton of attackspeed so you have good dps with your high AD.
Absolute Gathering ensures you never lose ability to oneshot caster minions with Q after lvl 9 which is important, having very high AD also just makes your crits later hurt alot.
Change runes to boneplating vs stuff like Fizz Ekko Sylas as its needed vs these champs if you dont have it itll make lane very hard.
For Spells I pref TP as default personally as its just more consistent, no problem if you like playing Ignite you can use that as Default. I think Exhaust is very broken spell I take it vs Katarina, Irelia, Zed, Qiyana, Yasuo etc as its very good vs these. Its just good in general anyway you can Swing into enemy ADC's face and just exhaust him so he cant instakill you and you just win 1v1 that way even if they would usually 2 tap you.
From his Youtube

Which boots are you guys building on Akshan right now, and why?

What do you do against zed, i feel like you can bully him early and get a lead but when he gets one item you can never E into him. You just get one tapped

- As he can be played as an assassin, he may want to flank from a side while invisible, and 1v1 the enemy ADC or support.
- But IMO I'd say he wants to just stay very safe back in fights behind his tanks, since he can revive his allies, so he kinda must be the most important person to have survive in the team?
The issue about the first, is that I'm pretty sure other ADCs outscale him, due to the atk apeed ratios.
The latter has the problem that he does not have the AA range to be shooting from a safe position to begin with, Lol.
It feels like when he gets a double kill or more, it's because the enemies were confused or distracted with something else, or because he joined late to the fight and just cleaned up.
I believe this (positioning in teamfights, specifically) is something people don't often talk about. I guess it's because he's a roamer,... But the thing is that 5x5 teamfights are gonna happen, he's not always gonna catch harmless supports as they ward or 30% HP lonely targets.
Sorry if the format is bad, typing from phone. Thx.

D3 players still don't understand that you can just walk in front of Akshan to stop him lol.

He benefits only from 40% of the AS gained from items and runes, literally 60% of the value spent in investing in atk speed, is gold thrown away freely.
I personally always get the life steal boots, and maybe others in specific situations. I'm Emerald tho.
Can sb explain?
I understand ppl buying RFC (Which has AS as one of its stats), but that's because of the passive, giving him more range. But I really don't understand berserker greaves.
Edit: And I'm talking about Phantasm and Chen Chen, one of whom was literally rank 1 of the world.
I wonder if in runes they get life steal or atk speed tho, from "Legend" in the yellow branch.

Hi all I'm still learning Akshan and I am trying to learn to build him better.
Currently I run the Collector > LDR > IE with sometimes the Kraken > Hex > IE.
What champion or team comps will proc you to differentiate from a core build path or build a certain situational item?
For instance, if someone is very sticky and good at dueling I'll build botrk, or if I need to survive burst I'll build Shieldbow, against Cait I like Hex, Mortal if I have to fight anyone that heals, etc.
Interested to hear your thoughts!

Is this a new way to play akshan? He seems to be improving every split. Also, the revive makes sense.

i know hes also classified as a marksman, and rightly so, he just feels like a marksman to me. maybe you could argue its because of his stealth, but vayne and twitch also have invisibility, does that make them assassins too? he also mostly only builds one lethality item, and even then its collector which half of marksmen build anyway.
maybe its historical cuz relative to most i havent been playing this game for that long, but to me, the only champ ive played that actually fits in both categories accurately is quinn.
fun champ tho love akshan <3

I’ve been watching Phanta and trying to improve my Akshan games and I just saw this interaction that I don’t understand. In this clip he somehow targets anivia without her being on his screen. I know he has vision etc. but you can clearly see his cursor no wear near her. So how does he do this?

Should they buff q?

Would going hubris before my usual crit rush (collector, ldr/mr, ie) be viable if I want to scale better? I'm gold and notice I struggle come late game
r/AkshanMains • u/miriotogata5 • 25d ago
I have tried every possible thing in the game in order so survive laning phase against Viktor and I just gave up. Second wind, bone plating, tp, DORANS HELM (yes i unironically took this once in the matchup) and it just doesnt matter.
Stronger than you early, barely manageable mid game, extremely more useful than you late.
It just feels literally impossible to lane against Viktor with bone plating and scorch. His E is essentially point-and-click because you need to be trying to miss it on a dashless target.
What do? Please tell me i’m being delusional and this is skill issue

As the title says - if i go PTA with resolve (against bad matchups) or sorcercy, i never do so much damage in the end. My laning feels so weak, and my trading pattern is kinda bad.
If i go electrocute i deal so much dmg and my tendency to snowball is way better.
My builds are similar, i take flash and ignite. If i go electrocute, i tend to go hubris into collector, if i go PTA i rush collector first into crit like ldr, ie, etc.
This is no troll, pls help me. i want to improve.

I currently have around 800k mastery points on Akshan, and I pretty much only play him mid.
Whenever I get my secondary role, I usually get top, and Honestly, it almost always goes wrong. A while ago I had the idea of setting ADC as my secondary role instead, and so far it seems to be working much better than top.
The main problem I have with Akshan top is that I feel like I can't really impact the map with roams. Eventually, I usually make some mistake in lane and end up dying. My games tend to get better after the laning phase, but I still feel much less influential when it comes to carrying compared to playing mid.
There's also the fact that when I play Akshan top, my team often ends up lacking a proper tank/bruiser for the frontline.
With ADC as my secondary role, at least I'm not taking a lane that is usually occupied by tanks or bruisers. I'm also finding it easier to help my jungler because I'm closer to Dragon, somewhat similar to how I can impact the map from mid.
On top, I feel like my ability to help with objectives is much more limited. Either my jungler gives up the objective, or the fight simply isn't favorable for me to participate in.
So I'm wondering: for an Akshan mid main, does ADC make more sense as a secondary role than top?

I've been playing a bunch of Akshan lately. I feel I'm getting pretty good, but every now and then an escape attempt or glorious chase is ruined by me pushing back like 200 units away from the wall after using E. But it's not consistent. Sometimes I'm super close to the wall and I don't push off and my swing goes nowhere. Sometimes I'm actually pretty far from the wall and I spring back anyway, ruining my trajectory or making me bonk into the Yasuo who I was trying to get away from.
Has there ever been a good guide on what makes that happen? One time I accidentally used it to dodge a Lux Q and it felt so bad ass, I'd like to be able to do it consistently.

I would like to know about some game you can describe where you were the MVP by far or that you outplayed the enemy team, better if it was a situation of 1 (you) vs 2 or more, and better if you stomped to the other midlaner (in case you went Akshan mid)
