Just got my job list and need some guidance. I was really hoping for 2A job options but with my waiver, i’m restricted from that completely as well as 1A which i also wanted. I scored a 94 on my asvab. What’re some good jobs on here (and some that may not be) that could transfer outside, as well as not completely limit me to a desk if at all avoidable. And how long i may be sitting in DEP with these 🥲I’ve done my research, but just curious what experiences people have had with these.

Been looking at different branches of the Military and I wanna go airforce. But based off of my research the only branch that will accept me is the navy.

Good afternoon,
As the title of my post states I just wrapped up my Commander Interview earlier today. I am applying for Line Officer commissioning through OTS. The interview consisted of 3 main questions (the same ones I was sent by email the week prior when confirming the interview). (1) Why do I desire a commission? (2) Explain a time I used teamwork to overcome a challenging situation. (3) A hypothetical scenario where he asked how I would go about creating a plan to increase my squadrons fitness scores by 10% in a 6-month time frame. He also asked 1-2 follow ups after each answer I gave.
I think it went well, I can't recall any glaring signs indicating otherwise. He acknowledged my answers as good and gave several nods that I hope indicated approval. Commander did say at the end to not be discouraged if I am not selected, as that is common for first time applicants, but that he thinks "ill be good" (if that means anything at all).
At the end he asked if I had anything I wanted to clarify on my own behalf and if I had any questions to ask him.
I really am just worried about how my package will look once everything is finalized. Aimhigh portal is still down which is quite annoying.
I am graduating in May 2027 with a Bachelors in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a 3.37 GPA. On my AFOQT I scored 63 on Academic Aptitude, 63 Verbal, 61 Quantitative.
I know I have a degree that is in need by the Air Force but how does that impact my odds of selection?
Also if anyone knows what's to come after the interview I'm grateful for any info :)

Hello! I am in the process of commissioning into the air force as a public health officer. I finally have my interview scheduled for this upcoming Monday. This is the last thing I am needing to complete before submitting my full application for the board. I wanted to see if anyone has recently completed their interview or if anyone recalls what their interview was like when they completed it? any tips and information is appreciated!! My recruiter did mention it all depends on who interviews me but I like to be prepared and would like to get an idea of what to expect. Thank you !!

So It was discovered that 7 years back when I was in college my BP was elevated when I went to the clinic on campus and they filled me a script for hypertension. I never went to pick it up- never took it or anything and that was that. Through out the years I have never been diagnosed with hypertension. Ever.
But they temp DQd me for it. Now I’m trying again and everything is good but they’re asking for my pharm records for the last three years. (Which doesn’t have any BP medication)
BUT I remember going to a clinic last year bc I wanted to be safe after a sexual assault and wanted to take PEP to prevent me from contracting HIV. Well I finished the script and got tested and was negative. I’ve been getting tested for a year straight since then and they’ve all been negative. I guess I’m kind of scared to include that pharm in my files…..
Was wondering if I just submitted my CVS records from the last three years and left that one off script off? Am I a dummy?

I (19F) want to join the Air Force, but as of right now, I don't meet the height and weight standards. I would need to lose some weight to meet them. Every other standard, I think I will be fine. My question is: should I still reach out to a recruiter to get the process started, or should I lose the weight first and then reach out?

Need to pick a job between RAWS or RF Transmission at Air National Guard. Both are out of Engineering Installation Squadron. What are some pros and cons for these jobs. Thank you

Does accreditation matter? I graduated from US nationally accredited college recognized by the US Department of Education.

I am a green card holder with a Masters degree in computer science. I scored 93 on my actual ASVAB test and was told to shortlist top 10 jobs where I had finance jobs / Medical job options on the list. It’s been like 3 months now and I got a call to join SERVICES. I am greatful for everything but bit confused like should I take it and go towards officer route and cross train later on. How long will it take to lean towards officer route? And extra information will really help me navigate through the future plan.
Recruiter is telling me there are not much job options right now and not much job positions are opening anytime soon.

These are my scores. I honestly don’t know what the scores mean. Especially for the complex reasoning test I had to take.
All in all though very surprised I got a 90. I had to take the EDPT the following Wednesday. And had no time to study for that as all my focus was on the ASVAB. Needless to say I scored a 44 on that because I ran out of time and didn’t panic bubble the remaining questions.
Give all this what are my options and would it be more beneficial to go to the Air Force or Space Force?

I'm 20 and have been waiting in Air Force DEP since
February. Joining the Air Force has been a dream of mine, but I also have an opportunity to study abroad in Japan from May to June 2027. I don't want to give up on the Air Force after waiting so long, but I don't want to miss Japan either. What would you do in my situation?

For those who flew to BMT, how did you manage the TSA liquids rule? I know you’re technically limited to one quart-sized bag for liquids in your carry-on, but I have enough toiletries to fill at least two bags, which should be my maximum. All of my liquid products are within the TSA’s 3.4-ounce (100 mL) limit individually. Did anyone bring two quart-sized bags and have any issues getting through TSA?
Second, what did y’all use to wash yourselves at BMT? Washcloths, loofahs, bath sponges, exfoliating gloves, or something else? Were any of these provided, or did you bring your own? And if you brought your own, how did you keep them clean and dry between showers? Did you wash and reuse them or buy replacements at the BX?

Hey everyone, I’m hoping someone with more insight or who has gone through a similar pipeline can help me sanity-check my orders.
I recently received my official orders, but the timeline seems a bit out of sync with what I’d expect for my AFSC (Radio Frequency Transmission Systems, 1D7X1R). Here is my current schedule:
BMT Start: November 10
BMT Graduation: December 30
Tech School Start: January 6
Tech School End: March 1st
This block from January 6 to March 1 is roughly 8 weeks, which doesn’t seem to line up with the standard full length of the RF Transmissions Systems tech school pipeline (96 days online).
I’m currently waiting to hear back from both my recruiter and my unit leadership, but things are moving a bit slow on their end.
Is this the case because my tech school has multiple phases and I need to graduate each individual phase? If that is the case is it problematic that my orders only show the first phase? Or is all this just a common administrative glitch?
If anyone has been in a similar boat or knows how this pipeline is structured, I’d really appreciate your input!

My Picat scores, what do they mean?
What do i qualify for?
r/AirForceRecruits • u/SoilNo3374 • 18h ago
Hello, I’ll make this as short as possible:
17, wanting to join security forces as a stepping stone for civilian law enforcement later on. I’m not smart, I’m being totally honest with myself I’m very unintelligent when it comes to numbers and math. So naturally I’m struggling with arithmetic and mathematics knowledge. Scored a 22 AFQT was told I need a 24 to qualify.
No matter how I try to study I just can’t seem to understand the material, I’ve had 2 tutors and the way they taught me did not make sense. I know I need to start from the ground up I just don’t know how to start. I struggle understanding material and being disciplined enough to study.
Any actual advice to help with this?

so, I want to enlist, but I've heard maintenance is a bottom-tier career choice, although the possibility of getting a decent job outside of the Air Force seems possible.
What are hours like?
Did you get a degree while in ?
Did you get a job after ?

Went to meps and they stopped me at the part to get letters for a waiver regarding my past with depression and a single incident for a seizure like 7 years ago. I stopped taking medicine for depression since feb this year and the recruiters or people at meps really did not seem to care since they just now want documents for waivers.
I realized I do not want to go active navy any more mainly because I remember how much I have a phobia towards being near the ocean and I just cannot bear the idea of being out in the middle of nowhere or in some foreign country for 6 months or 1 year. My recruiter also pretty much rushed me through the process like I took a practice test one week and the next I was already in meps and he did not talk about really anything else. So I went to meps not knowing what to expect or what jobs the navy even does.
Am I still able to change my mind and try to get in via air force instead? I am willing to take up any job needed, I just dont want anything to do with ships or the ocean.
