Archer Low DPS :(
Hey guys, my Ranger feels really underpowered. I'm always the lowest DPS in the party, even with full +10 gear at 2100 gear score and 96k power.
Is anyone else feeling like the Ranger is underpowered?
(Sorry for any mistakes, this English was written by AI. I'm not a native speaker.)

Archer is pretty dependent on stats / skill lines / stigmas for the majority of their dps If you have bad rolls on your gear your gear score will be high but likely wont have the neccesary balance of crit / cd reduction / dmg boost ect. They are meant to hit really fast and crit alot in order to take advantage of their buffs cooldown resets.
Your in the 2100 bracket so you're pretty much just farming now for the rest of the year, just start looking at horizontal content like your wings collection, pets / genus farming, statues from pantheon. All of those minor stat points where you can get crit and accuracy to cap will be what makes your dps rise. and reset all your stigmas to get the lvl 20 stigma buff skill to get cooldown reset on crits

So i get vaziel to 20 asap, prolly not worth if its the only stigma skill right?

yeh at least +1 the others, might consider explosion over griffon till you have more stgma to make griffon 10 which is a ways out as u want the other two buffs really badly too at 20 (bow) and 15 (supporting) at least since they are very well matched with the build;
remember snipe 16 lowers deadshot cd giving you alot more deadshots
deadshot 16 is a massive dmg increase
Gale arrow 16 makes the gale buff (combat speed and dmg boost) 100% uptime
Drill dart 16 gives you twice as many uses
and arrow scattershot 16 basically resets your cooldowns every stagger
But thats a ton of skill lines so until we are full yellow arcana and have gear that we've rerolled to hit more then one or two lucky 16s our dmg is less then ideal. Once our full kit is in place we have bow on a 2m cd with massive dmg boost and supporting and vaziel coming up every min with perma gale your firing extremely fast add in some cooldown reduction and you can see where it will be wild at lvl 50

Just one more thing i see a lot of ppl not running scattershot at all but those are on TW/KR any reason for that?

u/Useful_Cup2531 6d ago
Its like just not having enough places to put skill lines, my first decent rings both had scattershot on them till 2100 i ran 16 scatter shot and the dps increase is noticeable its likely just less effective everywhere (only good for staggered bosses essentially) where something like gale arrow is just an all around increase in all instances

Aside from buying the 25euro pack for the EA i am 100% f2p with no alts. I easly reached 2.4k gs and 114k combat power, Vaizel at 20, gale shot at 16 and deadshot at 16. I consistently outdps everyone. My average dps is 26-27k in conquest, 34k if im allowed to stand still and dps without caring for mechanics(dummy dps is around 35k). All i did was watch whelps ranger guide, setup the macro as shown in the video and spam rotation. Ranger depends heavly on crt, penetration, % dmg and lvl 16 gale shot, deadshot and 20 vaizel. My dps without 20 vaizel or 16 gale shot is around 19-20k.

How are you f2p players 2.4k gs in like 10 days lmao. Are you just no-lifing this shit

It’s honestly not that hard. I don’t even have crafted gear, just dungeon gear at +10/+12. People are exaggerating how difficult it is. If you actually play the available content, you can easily reach 2.4k+ GS. That said, yeah, I’ve been playing 6–8 hours a day since EA. I've been selling all the crafting mats i got for kinah in order to turn them into boxes and then sell for Quna. The whales have been funding my battlepasses and skins. I think i farmed a total of 13k Quna while spending the bound kinah for character progress.

Yeah 6-8 hour days for 10 days is not a normal amount for an adult and it explains how you got there. No shade at all, super happy you’re having fun with it, but this makes sense.

Why is it a problem for someone to allocate their time how they will?
I have come across people with jobs, kids and spouses who have put an incredible amount of hours into a game.
People really get bent because of all the wrong things.

u/Serito 2d ago
It's not, they weren't trying to shame you. It's just that many adults won't even have 8 hours free a day after work and sleep. Then there's cleaning and eating. On top of this hopefully socialising, exercise, and if you have a family a lot of time with them.
They are basically saying if you are grinding it 6-8 hours a day you're no lifing e.g you don't have many responsibilities. That's not normal for adults and to say it's 'not hard' to do it that fast is a bit out of touch.

Stigma reliant. We’re capped at stigma 25 but on a balance patch that was based on not being capped

As of right now, assassin is worse class to play, it will eventually become the highest dps though

What are your stats speced for? If you are taking advantage of all your mobility options then you sacrifice a lot of defense, evasion and HP in favor of attack and crit.

If you haven't started messing with the macro feature you will want to
It seems it's kind of required to keep up in this game and it does make combat a lot easier
1
u/Ralposki 6d ago
Easier yes. Better? Not for my class, at least. I've switched between 2-3 macros, was not satisfied. I've started manually learning the spells and rotation, my dps increased by 30%.
Macros just prioritize what to hit, not when to hit to increase everything you need, depending on the situation.

u/Tasty-Designer-4489 6d ago
Not a single class is optimal manually. You're having a skill issue making the macro, ironically.

u/Ralposki 6d ago
Not sorc. That's for sure.

u/mjcolayman3394 5d ago
Macros don’t prioritize what to hit.
They literally INSTA hit what you want, in a specific order.

Uhhh.
How are you finding out your lowest DPS?
And what DPS are you at?
1
u/Comprehensive-Run615 6d ago
It’s weird they forced us on 4 stigmas. Thats really bad imo. 5 unlocks a lot of classes.
Now I have to set two presets just to play open world vs dungeon

Archer is like top 3 dps in current reports. Set up your macros and look at guides.

Ranger and Sorcerer definitely feel underpowered. Cleric and Gladiator out DPS both.
1
u/sleight1990 6d ago
I consistently out dps everyone on my sorcerer even at lower gear levels than everyone else so idk
1
u/DiliThighSnacker 6d ago
Yeah this* guy talks out of his ass, if sorcs know what they do they easily out dps equal geared rangers by a ton
Edit: to clarify the guy above you*

Getting Vaziels to 20 for the cdr and getting gale arrow to 16 for -10cd helps a ton. Ranger isn't exactly underpowered just requires some things to feel good. Also getting as much combat speed as you can as well goes a long way.
