Hello All! I'm just north of the Addison Airport and heard an explosion this morning at around 5:40am which could be compared to a firework exploding near ground (but with only one large boom) or a large tire exploding. Anyone hear the same or privy to what that actually was? Just curious as I believe the day went on as normal with no news. Thanks!

Anyone have facts as to what happened? I live across the street. Told by building owner MAA someone has been arrested, was a MAA resident. I don’t know anything more than that. Who does?

My parents (57M and 55F) just moved to Addison, TX from San Diego, CA (originally from Long Island, NY). My mom is looking for ways to meet friends or a potential part time job.

Try driving down Marsh between Vitruvian and Spring Valley around 1 PM. They’ve mounted a flock camera on one of the light poles in a way that the solar panel had might as well reflect the very core of the sun into your eyes, and it’s mounted right where you CAN’T look away from it without looking at the road for a solid 15 seconds.

It’s been 10 minutes and I’m still seeing discoloration in my left eye where it was glaring. Motherfucking Doctor Evil would be elated at our poles with friggin laser beams.

Public safety my ass. How exactly does one go about suing the city for physical harm? Seriously, how do we start rallying our neighbors to demand we 1) get this private company nanny state bullshit out of our city and 2) ensure that every worthless, spineless pile of sentient smegma on the city council that has allowed this never has a position again?

I’m 24F and want to move closer to the city as a young professional. Addison seems like the perfect city to consider as it’s close enough to work (10m) and even Uptown/Downtown Dallas are about 20-30m away depending on traffic.

Like many people on this sub, I have been looking into this community to relocate to as I hope to reduce my +45m long commute. I toured two remodeled units in two different buildings. One at The Goodman and the other at Morris Court. I will say the hallways smell kind of off at The Goodman (like wine+weed?) but the unit itself was in good condition, although it isn’t entirely ready for move-in. The other unit also looked nice but the base rent is more for less square footage (?). The hallways at both buildings were pretty warm but I don’t think that’s too bad (unless I hear otherwise lol).

So I guess I’m asking is the location/price worth living at this community or are there better options around?

Ideally, I’d like to keep my budget around $1,300-1,500 with not more than $200 in additional utilities and be able to move-in within the next week or so.

I’d love to hear your experiences and/or any other recommendations you guys may have.

Want to advise everyone to stay away from this new complex. I’ve been eyeballing it for a long time as an Addison resident and eventually ended up signing a contract for a lease starting on October 3rd. I got an email today that they haven’t even been certified to have residents at the complex and are “expecting” to be open on October 16th. I already put in my notice to end my lease at my current complex. They expect me to be homeless for 2 weeks until the complex is ready to go. And I’ve already been through the leasing process to know not to trust them on anything. Has anyone else had an experience with them? Just curious

Where are we shopping for meat that is certified USA produced. I have a costco card as well but not 100% about where their meat comes from. Considering buying local or even at grocery stores where they have better standards for meat.

My mom died unexpectedly and we are not able to care for him. He is 14 weeks old. He is Shepard mix. He is very sweet and smart. He knows how to sit and shake and is potty trained for the most part. He comes with food, bowls, toys and crate. He is crate trained at night. She had been training him at night in the crate. He has not had his shots yet, as she just got him a couple of weeks ago. we just want him to go to a good home.
