Best Existentialism Reader?

[u/Acceptable-Tie-1618]

I've got three options for "readers" in existentialism. Which do you think is the best?

* *The Penguin Book of Existential Philosophy* (ed. Jonathan Webber, 2025)

* *Existentialism from Dostoevsky to Sartre* (ed. Walter Kaufmann, 1956)

* *Basic Writings of Existentialism* (ed. Gordon Marino, 2004)

Or is there another one I'm missing?

My university recommended “The Existentialist Reader” by Paul S. Macdonald. It’s more an anthology of texts, but was quite nice to have everything in one place.

And it’s got a pretty nice and succinct introduction.
