Gambo's been covering this team since the Sun Devil Stadium days, you can hear it in his voice on the radio now. When even the guy who's seen every 4-12 season says it's wearing him down, you know it's bad. I remember back in 2018 he was still finding ways to be optimistic on air, but past couple years he just sounds tired. At some point the organization has to give these guys something to work with.

Gambo gets a lot of shit, but he's right more than he's wrong, and he seems like he actually cares about the local teams despite not growing up as fans of any of them. He's adopted AZ sports, and doesn't sugar coat shit when he reports on them. He's better than most local sports radio personalities. If you've traveled and listened to other markets radio, you would agree

It'll be a massive loss when he retires. Keller Olson is the only younger guy i like but he's just a fill in

Maybe we’re hard on Gambo but the other media people paint him bad then.
Cameron Cox for example knows squat about sports and should never talk about sports. He keeps shilling for Brissett.
Other guys like Bickley are also bad but at least he says now the Cardinals need a team president.

Ive never heard him rip on an owner like he's done the last two days on bidwill
Usually he holds himself back. Just today, he called ken kendrick a "really good owner"
I dont have much of an opinion on Ken Kendrick. He's a MAGA fuck, but he does re-invest revenue into the team. I guess i cant ask for, or expect, anything more
But he said Michael Bidwill is a terrible owner and needs to give up control. That is new for gambo

Even moreso when you realize he's been an owner schill since day 1. He covered for Sarver how many times? He's taken up for Bidwill a bunch too, but I think this is where his NY shows and he can't just tow the line anymore.

Gambo was Sarvers guy 1000%. You could tell he had a direct line of communication with Sarver. I don’t think Bidwill has much of any friends like that in the local media.

Kendrick is far from the best but far from the worst. At the end of the day he spends enough to field a competitive team, which is more than a lot of fanbases could say. And next to Bidwill the D-backs look like the Dodgers.

Ken had some shit luck on three huge starter pitcher contracts too, Madbum, Montgomery and other Corbin. Just a ton of money basically set on fire.

Yeah the Dbacks ownership and the decisions are bad but it’s nothing compared to the Cardinals. The Dbacks have culture like the Suns do and that’s why they are average to good teams.
The Cardinals don’t have any of that.

For the first time in over 15 years. I am so broken over being a fan of this team. I will never truly leave the fan base. But now I am going to watch the Texans and Vikings on occasion to support Kyler and Marv. May not agree with how things went down here in AZ or any perspectives concerning the players but I do support their success and their careers. I just find myself expecting actual change for the Cardinals, and yet, they always end up doin the same thing. And at the end of the day I want success for McBride, J Love, and Wilson. Go Cardinals.

No one is coming to save this franchise. Not Roger Goodell. Not the other owners. Not the media. Check back in 5 years and you’ll likely still find them in the same abyss.
