A tester noticed using the SSAUGv2 with the Heresy had bad timing and resulted it premature detonation. Nobody was hurt and nothing was damaged, but nonetheless the SSAUGv2 trip is designed around the OEM BCG. Please wait till we make one specific for the Heresy 9mm.

In case you didn’t know, it is possible to run A3M1 style rails and optics on an A3M2 receiver without leaving an ugly gap or losing the forward QD sling mount that the AUG is known for. However, the part(s) necessary for this aren’t sold on Steyr’s website. You will need to email or call Steyr and ask for parts US1264020040 ($58.27), 3900073 ($3.50), 3860019H ($1.00). Those are the M2 QD sling swivel, screw, and roll pin, respectively. The QD sling mount is rotation limited. Also works with Clawgear handguard.

So I was at a match when I started having lots of light strikes on the stage. At first I thought the firing pin was broken but after taking it apart between stages I found the true culprit. The right side cap of the operating rod was unthreading itself, causing the bolt to not go fully in battery and the rifle was trying to stop itself from firing to prevent a catastrophic malfunction and saving my face. Retightening the cap made it run reliably for the rest of the match and I've added loctite since. It sucks to forfeit the stage but I'd rather not look like Two-Face.

Had considered then abandoned the idea of a left-handed AUG; magazine restriction was the main factor. The NATO model is wrong-handed only, so that was out for me.
Only today do I learn they have a brass deflector that sends brass forward, away from my teeth.
So, fellow southpaws: How does the NATO model feel when using the brass deflector? If you put a can on the muzzle, how much gas do you take to the face?
My current final form for the SA I picked up a bit back.
Changes:
• Painted Krylon Spanish Moss
• Heresy 5.56 barrel and top rail.
• Supressed
• Comp m4
• Surefire x300v
• 2 pt. sling
I’m kinda hooked ngl.

I picked up my (first and only firearm) AUG A3 M2 300BLK right before the Virginia ban. I wanted to know if anyone can recommend any suppressors, I’d like it to be as quiet as possible but really open to anything. Thank you!

And I loved every moment of it.
Anyone able to find these? Looking to get one but can't seem to find them in stock anywhere in the US.
Got the itch to work on projects this weekend, and since I couldn't hang with my freind who knows how to weld, the desire only grew.
So, last night I was looking at my scraps thinking what I could make. And since I live in a free state, the thought of the new atf ruling came to mind. I went to bed and slept on the thought.
Anyway, after finishing lunch today I grabbed my angle grinder, drill, and dremel and cranked this out in about 3 hours.
Hope you enjoy! Happy SBR sunday!

Picked up an AUG last week, finally got to put some rounds through it and I had a few questions for the augtists. This thing is violent, like the recoil is harsh and it sounds like a magnum even when suppressed..is this simply due to the platform being extremely over gassed? I understand the recoil impulse being different because of the bullpup design. Will the augmentor or suppressor plug tame this thing down some? Like is the difference going to be huge with a different gas regulator?

It's 30x60cm acrylic paint on canvas. What do you all think?

A lighthearted post demonstrating a young lady shooting with the AUGmenter while covering the gas block with her bare hand.

Just got my special receiver today. Wow is she heavy with a Zeiss/Fero Z-51. Then again, everything is heavy with a Z-51.
Does the barrel stablizer work on the 20"? I doubt it! But it's the kind of gimmic I'd expect to see on a 90's rifle.

Here is a video of the factory gas plug, the factory suppressed plug, the KNS discarder and the AUGmenter system. The video is shot with a night vision device. The rifle is a A3SA with a 16" factory barrel, Polonium suppressor and PMC X-Tac ammo. The KNS is on the low course setting and in possession 11 (despite the typo in the video), so the gas venting is at its bare minimum.

My first ever AUG- added some stuff to make it just a tad better than the way it was when I got it. ARID trigger, safety and brass deflector,
Arid/Benderzee sear stop,
Corvus mag release,
Lazurus 6 can,
Unity mount w/Romeo 4xt pro,
Surefire Scout light pro w/Unity gas cap and button,
SMS trinity LAM
I seriously started to get bored with other rifle platforms and buying this and training with it over the past two months as really reinvigorated my love for training. All of the AR Bros out there have no idea what they are missing out on. I feel like this platform is so criminally underrated in this country.

I’ve had lots of folks with AR’s tell me they’d never leave the platform due to other platforms not having anywhere near the volume and access of accessories and spare parts. Thing is, as long as you’re not the kind of person to be constantly modifying your setup, once you’ve got your rifle put together I don’t really see the need for much beyond modifying for recreational purposes. If I have my AUG, a spare parts kit (pictured), and at least a dozen mags, I wouldn’t really need a single replacement part for at least a few decades if not my lifetime (assuming no FRT’s in this scenario). AUG parts last much longer than AR parts, which already last well beyond the needs of the avg person even in an SHTF type scenario (limit ammo supply would help keep folk’s firing schedule down in a disaster). Does anyone actually fear not being able to get parts for their guns or, like me, do you feel your current setup could last a lifetime or more? I say this as someone with half a dozen AR builds in the safe, but push comes to shove I’d still grab my AUG because it shoots the best and most naturally for me, feels heartier than my AR’s, and because I think with what I have I can last decades with it with minimal maintenance and always have a stash of AR’s/mags if I’m wrong.

My first AUGtober. Of coarse I went to Waffle House.
A few questions… what is the detent button for in the top of the charging handle?
Should I take it apart and wipe all the factory grease off and hit it with some CLP?
Do you have to use a wrench to turn the gas plug? Seems pretty stiff.

I'm looking for some advice as to which path I should take to start my AUG journey.
Long story short my paths are pretty much coming down to Standard vs NATO stock followed by their respective 9mm conversion kits.
Main Questions I would like answered.
Are 9mm kits any good or reliable? Which 9mm kit is better? Police or KAK?
How does each 9mm kits function? How does the mag release? Do they have bolt hold open? Do they use the bolt release?
Is it really ok to go with a NATO stock or are waffles the only way?
Here are the two paths I'm currently considering:
Path 1: Standard Stock - Buy AUGM2A3GRNEXT (currently about $100 less than NATO stock). Buy assortment of waffle mags. Buy AUG 9x19mm Police Training Kit. Buy extra 9mm magazines. (Around $300 worth of magazines)
Would cost more money in magazines however all the mags will be steyr waffle mags. The 9mm kit from what I've seen will have the same manual of arms as the standard magazines. However I am limited to steyrs proprietary 9mm 28rd waffle mags. Would be looking to buy about 300 dollars worth of waffle magazines if I went this route.
Path 2: NATO Stock - Buy
AUGM2A3GRNNATOEXT (currently about $100 more than standard). Buy NATO AUG A3 9x19mm KAK Colt Magazine Kit. Buy extra Colt Magazines. (About $100 worth of magazines)
Cost would be less than path 1 as I would only need to buy additional Colt Magazines. I already have an assortment of NATO mags that I would be able to use for 556. The KAK Colt Kit I need more information on. It would not be as direct of a manual of arms as the police training kit, but I believe it uses the standard mag release so I think it should still translate well to using 556 magazines. Also Colt mags just being smaller makes them easier to transport. Being able to use different sized magazines is also a plus.
I am leaning towards path 2 due to already having mags for 556, but I want to know if the KAK Colt Kit is any good compared to the police training kit.
All in all I'm just looking for any advice or information on what would be the best way to get into an AUG and get a 9mm conversion going as well. Any and all advice is much appreciated and thank you for taking time to read my post and possibly help me out.
