Precal AP stats or Ap precalc over the summer.?

Hello, I’m in a pickle of whether I should take AP Statistics or AP Pre-Calculus over the summer to get ahead. But, from what I heard AP Statistics is a solid, easy AP in which would fit perfect for my Junior class schedule since it could replace my spanish class which I would no longer need to take or should I go ahead and self-study Pre-Calculus now so that during the summer It’ll act as a buffer for the enhanced pace of learning AP Pre-Calculus over the summer.

Just a little bit curious about this — thanks.

I would do Ap Pre-Calc, As someone who took precalc it felt kinda like a waste of time since it was mostly reviewing old concepts.

*if you had a good alg 2 foundation.

The reason AP Precalc is a thing is because it’s not SAT/ACT material and students who used to just get passed through alg 2 then often got passed through Precalc since it wasn’t measured at all. They’d then get to Calc 1 and fail hard. Calc 1 is the most failed class on essentially all college campuses because students come lacking the algebra skills.
