I had 5 games back to back where i was at a miserable spot , most diff lane was me and winnable if I played right . Playing with trash sup champs just irritates me and it irritates me even more when support doesn’t like how I play and feeds . I m not blaming anyone , just saying that’s how me feeding starts . Doesn’t happen in other roles

Discussion Question on what safe pick adc to learn

tldr: i opt aphelios and want some safe adc picks for bad matchups

Hi, im currently plat 2 with playing almost only aphelios (i love the champ and his gameplay so much) and, while im still climbing, i have noticed my matches becoming harder especially when im against assassins or early lane bullies, or both at the same time, where the match almost feels impossible to win sometimes. im thinking about expanding my roster by 1-2 champs that i can pick when i know their team is bad for aphelios or when i have to fully blind firstpick something. Ezreal is a champ a lot of people recommend as a safe pick, but i know hes very mechanically demanding and i dont know if playing 2 demanding champs at once may be too much...
champ recommendations ect. would be great :P

This happened to me in my D1 games a while ago too. I just kept getting mid over adc. And now it’s happening again where every other game I get mid. If I put top I get top 40% of games. It’s really bad. My emerald adc acc never has this problem

Discussion What are the downsides of playing mages bot besides early skirmish power?

Really asking because I just can't see the point of playing a marksmen where every team is all damage assassins and all fights only last as long as it takes to shoot 4 autos.

Also flash exists.

Builds, Runes, Advice how do i have more impact in midgame when even/winning

op.gg: AgentC6#0001 - Summoner stats - League of Legends

I've had an....... unlucky string of games lmao. Currently I'm only able to really impact the game in lane and in super late game fights. Late game fights has its own issues that I'm working on (trying to min-max dps without inting), but generally those fights are either me carrying or a teammate getting caught into an autoloss lol.

My main question is in midgame. What are the best ways to min-max impact after securing an early game lead, or while even with enemy adc? How important is it to micro your teammates to make sure theyre in the best position to help you (or should you not micro your teammates)? Some games it feels like I'm bouncing waves mid and walking half down river just to not commit.

side note, im also curioous if anyones seen a worse opgg lmao, mine is pretty bad

Discussion LoL Stats - 2 ADC (Kaisa or Zeri or Yunara)

I still don't quite understand why sites like LoLalytics and U.GG have such different stats. When I check LoLalytics, champs like Kaisa, Jhin, and Yunara are listed as A-tier. On U.GG, those same champs are listed as D-tier. Which site do you guys use to see which champs are currently playable? I’ve always played mid lane. So far, I’ve mostly been playing Jhin. But I’m still missing another ADC who might be more of a hypercarry.

What would be your 2 pick?

Kaisa

Zeri

Yunara

Hello guys, I'm a jungle main who is considering playing ADC. I wanna get good at spacing first, so I built a tool to practice it. Can someone help me test whether it feels realistic? I want to train spacing the exact same way as in League, with items, abilities, and so on. Preferable some different mains cause I find following champs interesting: Ashe cause slow, Vayne cause OG Kiter, Ez cause i play him often randomly and maybe one caster, i was thinking about lux.

Discussion How is one tricking a champion in botlane?

Im getting bored of jungle after reaching plat and I want to play some adc but I only like Sivir. I want to play exclusively sivir. From what I know all(most) adcs are pretty similar so most bot laners play multiple champions. However Sivir is just way more fun then other adcs because she has a shield and waveclear.

Discussion Bot lane but I torture you forever

Imagine this

I am a typical marksman

I am stronger than you level 3

I have 4 3-sec dashes off cooldown at level 2 that come with AS boost

I out range most ADCs late game (if lane goes well)

I have my own cc and my own self peel

I can never be dived and can solo dive you when ahead

I scale perfectly fine and even better than some ADCs

I have excute to ensure I will always get the kill and not my support

Yes, you know it's the one and only wolf, well not naafiri, the other wolf, kindred.

I know marks are the brutal downside but surely someone here knows something right? I wanna play this so bad..

Is there a rune/item/supp pair that would make invading after crashing efficient enough?

Also if you manage to get just four marks (2 takedowns in each of enemy adc and enemy supp) you can go mid and snowball from them

What do you think?!!

She's a lane bully. More times than I can count her Q does some random ass matrix shit and hit me for half my health.

She does stupid damage in team fights. You could completely wipe the floor with the enemy team from a well placed ultimate.

I don't think see needs buffs?

Discussion Is kata getting gutted soon?

Kata is ADC and mid is just broken. Only tolerable kata is ap katarina but AD is just an abomination to the game. She can be dead even with you but still 1v3 unless your team has a cc chain of 5 seconds. If she decides to run you can't even chase because you must avoid her daggers. I never care about champs, i didn't care about locke on release or any other champ for that fact. Sure they were annoying but none of them can do what kata does. Worst part is you can't nerf her items because then all on hit champs will be useless when they are already worse than crit. Sure there are games where you dog on katarina but even those games are one reset away from kata pentakilling with 3 items. You have to keep your eyes on her always and she dictates the entire game state. If kata is in your game if you want to win you need to center the entire game around kata. Even if she is just even. But nerf all the other ADCs which nobody cries about.

Discussion How can this rule genuinely not carry

The more I scroll Reddit the more I begin to believe ADCs say their role has low agency just to keep it niche.

Am I not the guy who riot SPECIFICALLY assigned a support to babysit me?

Am I not the guy that every jungler comes to gank so I can "carry"?

Am I not the LITERAL attack damage CARRY?

I don't play ADC but I wanted to play some ezreal this weekend and every time I scroll this subreddit y'all talking abt sum "nothingburger jungle is op role ADCs are miserable and have no agency"

Help me explain to decide on what I wanna play in the weekend!

Discussion How to play ADC

So as the title says, I'm a Support main, Masters EUW last year when I played a lot, currently Emerald, and I'm pretty decent at ADC as well

Now, I'd like to play ADC. I assume Supports aren't gonna be good most of the time, so I have a few question:

If my Mid doesn't let me Mid after lane, do I go sidelane to farm properly, or do I maybe take stacked waves only on sidelane and run back to my team, as they'll probably start a fight without me or get caught?

So do I prioritize CSPM or follow team around for a fight?

Discussion Is ADC even playable in the current season, or has the role lost its identity?

/TOPIC was written by me, translated and edited by AI,as english is not my native language/

TL;DR — Main issues with ADC right now

  • Support dependence: One bad support can make the entire lane unplayable.
  • Autofill and inexperienced supports: First-timing champions in support can ruin the lane for an experienced ADC.
  • Unconsidered roaming: Supports leave without accounting for wave state or whether the ADC can survive alone, costing gold and experience.
  • AFK supports: Picks like AFK Yuumi make an already vulnerable role nearly impossible to play.
  • Mage bot lanes: Mages can provide strong lane pressure and deny farm, making traditional marksmen harder to justify.
  • Punishment for falling behind: An underleveled ADC can struggle to farm safely or contribute to fights, making recovery extremely difficult.
  • Poor risk-to-reward balance: ADCs sacrifice safety and early impact for late-game damage they may struggle to deliver.
  • Slow scaling: ADCs can need substantial time and resources to have an impact that some champions achieve much earlier.
  • Insufficient individual impact: Good positioning, farming, and decision-making don't always translate into meaningful influence when the lane becomes unplayable.
  • The solution isn't simply more damage: ADC needs a better balance between vulnerability, scaling, recovery, and team dependence.

The core issue: ADC feels excessively dependent on teammates, too vulnerable when behind, and too slow to become relevant. The goal shouldn't be to make the role overpowered, but to ensure that individual skill matters and that playing a traditional marksman remains a rewarding choice in solo queue.

Is ADC even playable in the current season, or has the role lost its identity?

I've been thinking about this for a while, and I want to explain why playing ADC has become so frustrating. This isn't simply a complaint about losing games or asking for more damage. The problem is the combination of support dependence, how punishing falling behind can be, the strength of alternative bot-lane picks, and whether the risks of playing ADC are still worth the reward.

Yes, there are ways to play against double-mage bot lanes. Yes, there is counterplay to almost every champion and team composition. I'm not arguing that every matchup should be easy or that ADC should win every game. But there's a difference between a difficult matchup and a role that sometimes feels like it barely allows you to participate.

1. The laning phase often feels miserable

Imagine playing against a mage bot lane. The enemy lands a skillshot, pokes you, denies your farm, and continues scaling while you're forced to play defensively. Meanwhile, your opponent can often farm relatively comfortably while making your life difficult.

Of course, there are ways to dodge skillshots and punish mistakes. That's part of the game. But as an ADC, you have to manage the wave, avoid poke, watch for engages, rely on your support, and collect enough gold to become relevant later.

The problem is that the enemy doesn't necessarily have to outperform you mechanically to make your game miserable. Sometimes, the matchup itself gives them enough tools to deny you access to farm.

And if you fall behind in gold and experience, things only get worse. An ADC who is significantly behind in levels and damage can become almost irrelevant. You have less room for mistakes, less damage to threaten your opponents, and fewer opportunities to contribute to fights.

You're supposed to be a damage dealer, yet you can spend most of the game struggling just to reach a position where you can deal damage safely.

That's not the same as being punished for playing badly. Sometimes, it feels like you're being punished simply for playing the role.

2. Support quality can determine whether ADC gets to play the game

Look at some of my recent games:

  • AFK Yuumi players.
  • Amumu support.
  • Katarina support.
  • Shaco support.
  • Kayle support.
  • Lee Sin support.

I'm not saying off-meta picks should never be allowed. Some unconventional picks can work, and I understand that players want variety.

But why does support sometimes feel like a role where anyone who gets autofilled can lock in practically any champion, regardless of their experience, and expect the ADC to deal with the consequences?

I have 800,000 mastery points on Ashe, yet I regularly encounter supports playing Swain, Shaco, or Volibear support for the first time.

How am I supposed to have a meaningful impact when my Katarina support decides to all-in two enemies at once and dies, or repeatedly gets caught out of position? I can play my lane reasonably well, but I cannot compensate for every mistake my support makes.

Honestly, I'd even prefer playing with Lux or Zyra over some of these picks. At least those champions have understandable lane pressure, range, and poke.

The problem isn't that every support must play a traditional champion. It's that support has enormous influence over the ADC's ability to farm, trade, scale, and eventually carry, yet that responsibility doesn't always seem to be taken seriously.

3. Random roaming can completely destroy the lane

Another major problem is how some supports roam.

I'm farming bot, trying to manage the wave, and suddenly my support decides to go top, roam mid, or invade the jungle.

Roaming is an important part of the game, and I'm not suggesting that supports should permanently stay bot. A good roam can win another lane or secure an objective.

But roaming without considering the wave state, matchup, or the ADC's ability to survive alone can completely destroy the lane.

ADC is a vulnerable, scaling role that relies heavily on positioning and protection. Yet I'm suddenly expected to survive a 1v2, sacrifice farm, and somehow remain relevant while my support does something else on the map.

The worst part is that the support can leave, the ADC loses farm and experience, and if the game goes badly, the ADC is the one who gets blamed for being useless.

How does that make sense?

Why should a player be able to abandon their lane without considering the consequences, leave their ADC alone against two opponents, and then flame that ADC at the end of the game?

And what about AFK Yuumi players? How is an ADC supposed to function when their support contributes practically nothing to the lane?

I'm not asking for supports to be punished every time they roam or make a mistake. I'm asking why the consequences can be so disproportionately damaging to the ADC, while the ADC has so few ways to recover.

4. Why is support treated as an easily replaceable role?

Supports are supposed to enable their team. That doesn't mean they can't deal damage, play aggressively, or carry games. However, there's a difference between supporting your team and treating the role as an excuse to play an assassin, a carry mage, a primary tank, or practically any champion you feel like picking.

Support requires game knowledge, matchup awareness, positioning, vision control, wave management, and an understanding of when to roam.

Getting autofilled shouldn't make these things irrelevant.

The decisions a support makes directly affect whether their ADC can farm, trade, scale, and participate in fights. Yet the role sometimes seems to be treated as something anyone can fill without much preparation.

The result is that the ADC can spend the entire laning phase trying to recover from decisions they didn't make.

5. Falling behind as ADC feels disproportionately punishing

People often talk about the 40/40/20 rule: roughly 40% of games are wins you have little control over, 40% are losses, and the remaining 20% are games where your individual performance can make the difference.

But from an ADC perspective, this doesn't always feel accurate.

Imagine that my support abandons the lane. I'm alone against two opponents, trying to farm slowly under my turret and avoid dying.

Then the enemy mid laner arrives with six kills.

What am I supposed to do?

I might not even be able to farm safely under my own turret anymore. I'm behind in gold and experience, the enemy is already strong enough to threaten me, and every attempt to recover carries the risk of dying.

The problem is that farming is precisely what I need to do to get back into the game, but the circumstances that put me behind can also make farming increasingly dangerous.

Other roles can sometimes find alternative ways to contribute when behind. A mid laner might roam, a jungler might look for picks or objectives, and some champions can still provide substantial utility without being ahead.

ADC has fewer options when it cannot safely approach a wave or enter a team fight.

Falling behind should make the game harder, not make you feel like you're no longer allowed to participate.

6. The risk-to-reward ratio doesn't always make sense

If ADC is supposed to be a high-risk, high-reward role, where is the reward?

Marksmen are vulnerable to assassins, have limited defensive options, depend heavily on positioning, and often need their team to protect them. In exchange, they're supposed to provide consistent damage, particularly in the late game.

But what happens when other champions can deal significant damage much earlier, survive more easily, and have fewer restrictions on how they contribute?

Why should I accept all the disadvantages of playing ADC if I don't consistently get enough opportunities to deliver the damage my role is designed for?

Being vulnerable makes sense if the payoff justifies the risk. A champion that needs protection and time to scale should eventually receive a meaningful reward for surviving that difficult early game.

Too often, however, it feels like ADCs take all the risks without getting enough opportunities to become effective.

I'm not asking for ADC to be overpowered in the late game. I'm asking whether the trade-off is still worth it when reaching that late-game power spike is often the hardest part of the entire match.

7. Why do some champions become impactful so much earlier?

One of my biggest frustrations is how long ADC can take to become relevant compared with other champions.

I don't want my chances of winning to be destroyed by another player's decisions before I even have an opportunity to contribute. And I certainly don't want to spend 20 minutes farming just to have an impact that a champion like Tahm Kench can achieve at 10 minutes with tank items.

Why does a traditional ADC have to invest so much time, gold, experience, and team coordination to become effective, while other champions can already be durable, threatening, and impactful much earlier?

A tank can absorb damage and provide utility. A mage can threaten opponents with spells and control space. An assassin can punish vulnerable targets. These champions can often contribute in ways that don't require the same conditions an ADC needs.

Meanwhile, an ADC who is behind may struggle to deal meaningful damage, survive an engage, or even approach a team fight.

Different roles should have different strengths and weaknesses. The question is whether the disadvantages of ADC are adequately compensated for by its strengths, particularly in solo queue, where coordinated protection cannot be guaranteed.

8. Mage bot lanes are part of the discussion, but the issue is broader

If mages can offer strong lane pressure, reliable damage, and the ability to deny traditional ADCs access to farm, why wouldn't teams pick them instead?

Some players argue that mages in bot lane add variety and make the game more interesting because we get to face different champions.

But why don't we see ADCs replacing traditional champions in top and mid to the same extent that mages can replace marksmen in bot lane?

One explanation is that marksmen have significant weaknesses outside the conditions in which they're supposed to excel. If another champion can perform effectively while being less dependent on protection and scaling, the traditional ADC becomes a harder pick to justify.

I'm not claiming that mages should never be played bot, nor that every mage matchup is automatically unfair.

The issue is that traditional marksmen shouldn't feel like the inferior choice in their own role simply because other classes can offer lane pressure and earlier impact with fewer dependencies.

Mages should remain viable alternatives, but their viability shouldn't come at the expense of making the traditional ADC experience consistently miserable.

And this isn't just about mage damage. Even in a traditional ADC-versus-ADC matchup, poor support decisions, level disadvantages, and the difficulty of recovering from a bad lane can produce the same fundamental problem.

9. The difference between playing ADC and other roles is striking

When I play mid or jungle, the game feels completely different. I can make plays, win lane without relying on my jungler, land a satisfying skillshot, or deal massive damage. My decisions feel directly connected to the outcome.

When I play ADC, mostly Ashe, I often feel that I have very little control over whether I get to play the game at all, especially when the opponents are at a similar skill level.

I'm not an extremely active player. I play around five games a day, but this experience is becoming increasingly difficult to tolerate.

What's even worse is that I see the same mistakes from opponents, too.

A half-health Pantheon engages while his ADC needs to farm? Easy kills.

A Nautilus randomly lands a hook under our turret and gets punished? Another avoidable mistake.

These situations happen on both sides. I'm not asking for opponents to stop making mistakes. I'm questioning why the outcome of the lane can be determined so heavily by random decisions while the ADC has so few ways to compensate for them.

League is a team game, and every role depends on teammates to some extent. But there should still be a reasonable relationship between individual skill and individual impact.

If I position well, farm consistently, avoid unnecessary deaths, and make good decisions, I should have a reasonable opportunity to influence the outcome. That doesn't mean I should automatically win. It means my performance should matter beyond simply surviving until my team creates an opportunity.

10. What would actually improve the situation?

I'm not necessarily asking for a massive ADC damage buff. Increasing damage alone might make some matchups more frustrating without addressing the underlying problems.

I'd rather see changes that make the role more rewarding and less dependent on circumstances outside the ADC's control:

  • Better balance between traditional marksmen and mages in bot lane. Mages should remain viable alternatives without consistently making the traditional ADC experience miserable.
  • More meaningful opportunities to recover when behind. Falling behind should be punishing, but not so punishing that farming and participating in fights become nearly impossible.
  • A better balance between vulnerability and reward. ADCs should have a meaningful payoff for their dependence on positioning, protection, items, and scaling.
  • Better incentives for informed support roaming. Roaming should remain part of the game, but decisions should account for wave state, matchup, and whether the ADC can safely survive alone.
  • A more serious approach to autofill and role knowledge. Support isn't a role without responsibilities. Its decisions have a direct impact on another player's ability to play the game.

The goal shouldn't be to make ADC overpowered. It should be to make the role rewarding to play, even when the game doesn't go perfectly.

Final thoughts

I'm not asking to win every matchup, to have a support who never roams, or to remove every off-meta pick. I'm also not claiming that every game is unwinnable or that ADC players never make mistakes.

I'm asking why the role has become so dependent on support quality, why falling behind can make it so difficult to recover, and why traditional marksmen often have to overcome so many obstacles before they can contribute meaningfully.

The most frustrating part is that the game feels fundamentally different when I switch to mid or jungle. I can make plays and create advantages through my own decisions. On ADC, I often feel like I'm waiting for the game to give me permission to participate.

ADC shouldn't feel like a role where you spend most of the game trying to survive, hoping your support doesn't ruin your lane, and waiting 20 minutes to become relevant.

So, is ADC actually balanced in the current season, or has the role become too dependent on teammates, too punishing when behind, and too difficult to justify compared with alternative bot-lane picks?
