NGD First 7 string
Good an 8 string last year on a whim, tried to live it but couldn't stand it ultimately, but tried a 7 and it felt pretty natural so I should the 8 and got this bad boy

Been jonesing for a 7 string for a while now because I’m a Wes Hauch fan. I was hoping that Ibanez would make a wallet friendly sig, but we all know how that went. I narrowed my search down to the RG2027XL and the Schecter. I bought the Schecter based on all of the good feedback from people in this sub. I didn’t want to drop the cash on the XL in case I didn’t vibe with the scale length, but I actually love it. Really great guitar. The neck dive isn’t really an issue if you play on your left knee.

Hey there! Just wanted to share my excitement about my first 7-string guitar - it’s absolutely gorgeous!
It arrived today, and after my usual “magnifying-glass” QC inspection, I’m happy to say that there are no major flaws 😁
It’s lightweight, has a comfortable neck, and feels great to play. Some might find the neck shoulders a bit wide, but I am having big hands, so that’s not an issue. The fretwork is decent, and the neck binding is a nice touch. Overall, it sounds and feels like butter!
I did a ton of research on the 7-string guitar market, with a budget of around €1,000. I was a bit hesitant about Cort at first, but after learning that Cor-Tek manufactures a significant portion of the guitars sold under various brands, I decided to give Cort a chance - and I don’t regret it!
At the end of the day, what matters most to me is how a guitar plays and feels, not the logo on the headstock! 🤘
Side note: the pickup protective films are already peeled off! 😀
EDIT: The guitar model is KX507MS, I was so exited that misspelled the model 😀

I recently saw Novelists live and loved the look of the Vasti. When doing research I really like the pick up configurations on the signature model, and all the features on the guitar.
I have heard that the necks on some Vola's can be pretty thick. For example I have a Mark Holcomb SVN and an Ibanez RGD71ALMS. The Ibanez is super thin, and the SVN feels good to me.
I'm strongly considering pulling the trigger on the Vola, but don't really have a way of trying one out, and would love some input if anyone here has any.
Thanks!

NGD awesome weird iceman! So I purchased this ibanez iceman with a Japanese neck serial # F0002898 but the body looks completely custom( metal material and heavy as hell). Got it for 215$ thinking about changing the bridge. Its a 7 string which makes me think of a rg7620/7420 neck from japan. Any info on the bridge would be cool since id like to replace it with a gotoh 1996t 7 string version.

I have an Ibanez RGMS7-BK and I want to put flatwound strings on it, I also play in drop G tuning (specifically CGCGFAd not CDCGFAd).
I want to get a unique sound, so is this a good idea? are there any downsides? What gauges do you guys recommend?

I recently moved after hitting rock bottom and I managed to score this Firefly 7 string Hollowbody. A les paul style 7 string hollowbody has always been a dream of mine. Now if I can figure out how to get a bigsby on there I'll reach enlightenment.
Since ive had it I took it to my local tech to file the 7string tuner. Swap the pots and the pups and got split coil capabilities. Got it setup for Drop F#.
Got a Seymour Duncan Jeff Loomis Noumenon in the bridge and I kept the stock neck pup because its amazing 👏. I managed to get a whole lot of guitar for a great price. Stainless steel frets. Binding. Beautiful Inlays. And its also neck-through! Which I haven't seen on a les paul single cut style guitar yet.
It plays and sounds amazing. I wish there were more single cut 7string hollowbody options because its a superb guitar configuration.

I have an Omne Vetus 8 coming my way this week and am brand new to Fishmans. I’m not a big fan of the White Plastic on these, especially with all black hardware on the pink.
If I buy or trade for a set of the Fishman 8’s in Black, what is the swap like?
Interested in swapping for
Tosin Abasi 8’s
Stephen Carpenter 8’s
Fluence Modern 8’s
Couldn’t find any vids on swapping these on YouTube or any posts on here. I figured since they were wired for the same, they’d be an easy swap with plugging in the new pickups.
Also, do you have any of the above mentioned pickups and interested in trading for a brand new set of White Fluence Moderns?

My wife surprised me with the pink Legator Ninja 7 for my birthday yesterday! It rounds out my 7 string collection nicely- now I have a 25.5 scale with the evertune, a 26.5 scale with a Floyd, and this one which is a blend of both scales. And it’s pink with a reverse headstock which is just pretty sick in my opinion. First impression is it plays like butter and sounds great, zero complaints at all.

Olá a todos.
Adquiri recentemente uma 7 cordas de escala 25.5" que cordas recomendariam para uma afinação de drop G?
Obrigado a todos.

Hi all,
What 7-string guitar (headless or not) has the most playable, narrow neck and comes equipped with a famous brand tremolo (like a Floyd Rose, Gotoh, etc.)?
I have tried a few Strandbergs, and although the EndurNeck profile was super flat, the fretboard still felt too wide for me. I came across this Jackson model with a nut width of 44.45 mm (1.75"), but I haven't been able to find anything narrower with a solid tremolo system.
Does a 7-string with an even narrower nut width exist, or is 44.45 mm the absolute limit? I would love some recommendations for guitars that fit this description!
PS - I now see that thats a typo on Jackson's website, and no 1.75 Seven string exists:

hi, every affordable guitar i find with a trem system seems to be a signature model based on metalcore artists. Im not a metalcore guy and I want to avoid a guitar based on someone i have never heard of.

Used Schecter Apocalypse C7 with Seymour Duncan Sentient/Nazgul pickups. Originally listed for $745 on GC website; it was reduced to $599.99 so I decided to grab it. I didn’t know it had SD pickups; they weren’t mentioned in the GC listing. I unscrewed them and found Sentient neck and Nazgul bridge. For some this is an upgrade, however I understand others may prefer the stock Apocalypse pups. For me, I was excited about the SDs. I’ve heard good things about them especially for heavier music so I’m interested in seeing how they sound.
I just picked it up from my local luthier today (Sat Oct 10). It’s my first Schecter and I’m really enjoying it so far. It’s gorgeous to look at, I love the grey-green finish and wood grain. The neck is very smooth and fast and feels substantial in a good way. The guitar has ZERO neck dive when strapped on which is a big plus.
I also love how these SD pickups sound especially cranked up through my ehx metal muff pedal

A little bit noisy because of a cheap multifx into an amp, but I really like it 🙂
