Remembering actress Alice Pearce on the 109th anniversary of her birth. She was born Alice Chowning Pearce on 10/16/1917 in New York City, New York. Alice will always be remembered for her iconic role as the perenially nosey neighbor, Gladys Kravitz, on the hit ABC television sitcom BEWITCHED from 1964-66. Alice was actually diagnosed with terminal cancer before BEWITCHED began, but kept her illness a secret. During the second season, however, her weight loss became too noticeable to ignore. Sadly, Alice passed away on March 3, 1966 from complications of ovarian cancer; she was 48. Her role was recast with actress Sandra Gould. In 1966, Alice posthumously won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. *A bit of interesting trivia: Alice was first offered the role of Grandmama on the 1964 comedy series THE ADDAMS FAMILY, but she turned the part down which eventually went to veteran actress Blossom Rock.

I need footage of Hippie Trail for a documentary

Hi everyone,

In pursuit of travelling the Hippie Trail this year, 3 friends and I ended up driving from Belgium to Kyrgyzstan.

Right now, we're making an independent documentary about it to honour this ancient trail some of you have embarked on.
To refer to the hippie trial in the documentary, we need archive footage that we can use for free, in return we'll put your name in the credits. Any photos or videos that you may have from that itinerary back in the 60s and 70s will do.

To send me photos or videos, you can reach out to me on messenger or on my e-mail : [vandenostendesimon@gmail.com](mailto:vandenostendesimon@gmail.com)

Thank you in advance !

Simon

"Dumb Blonde" was Dolly Parton's first charting single from her 1967 debut album HELLO, I'M DOLLY. It peaked at #24 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Country Singles chart. She would go on to achieve 25 #1 singles on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Underneath all of the glitz and glamour, Dolly was an innately intelligent woman who ran her career and businesses in the same manner as she did her life: with a lot of heart and integrity. When asked if she was ever offended with people making dumb blonde jokes about her, she famously answered "No, because I know I'm not dumb... and I also know that I'm not blonde!" God, I miss Dolly! 🦋

The Great Pumpkin!

So I happen to be of that time in the 60's born in '61 and I happen to see the Charlie Brown, the Great Pumpkin..anyway I have a question from those that were around at that time...

Do you remember we would be able to wear our costume to school and have a huge Halloween party at school...well one of the activities was lining up and "bobbing for apples"

So my question is didn't we know about germs and hygiene then?? WTF!!??

I think of that now and can't for the life of me figure out how they would line us up and one at a time stick our head in a large drum to grab and apple while not using our hands and only grab an apple attempt with our mouth...think about it..our entire face submerged with our snotting noses and sore throats each taking a turn trading spit and snot!!!

Fashion Is my outfit fit for the era?

I’m going to a Fab Four show soon (The Beatles tribute band) and they are performing a special show just for A Hard Day’s Night era. I want my outfit to match closest to what was worn by beatlemania girls in 1964, and this is what I got together. Anyone know a good lot about 60’s fashion that can help me out here? I really never dress 60’s in my normal, day to day life so it was definitely a challenge learning what is and isn’t authentic to the era, and i still don’t know 😅 I’m taking all feedback!
