I’ve owned several Toyotas 3 tacomas and my last vehicle was a 24 orp runner that I decided to sell when my son was born. Something about this era is just perfect still some features to not feel so outdated but not in your face with tech. When I picked this up from a local dealer of mine who I do business with it was completely stock. Wanted to not go overboard with things installed billstein 5100’s front and rear with OME coils adjustable UPC’s and put some DTS wheels wrapped in 285 BF Goodrich K03’s. Still have several things I would like to do (Headlights next) but so much left I’d like to get done. She just tipped 45,000 miles today and I plan on keeping her long enough to give to my 6 month old son! Hope everyone has a great night!

My 07 pavement princess will be 20 years old in February. I hit 217k on the odometer today and this is without a doubt the best vehicle I’ve ever owned…not that I’ve owned too many vehicles though…ha. It does feel weird getting into, say, a Tesla and having it drive for you but I still love my 4 runner. It could definitely use some new suspension components but other than that, she’s a beaut, Clark.

Looking for a recommendation on M 12 x 1.5 black one piece acorn lug nuts to use with aftermarket wheels. 19 mm or three-quarter drive size preferred. My set of AutoZone nuts are losing their caps rapidly.

Old gas cap did it and I just put a new one on and it’s still doing it. 04 v8. I’m legit huffing gas

2005 V8 Limited 4WD

Just like the title says, when i set my a/c to high, the center dash vents stop blowing air. Almost sounds like a flap shuts and cuts it off.

I have already verified that both the blend door and mode actuators are functioning, levers move when changing temps or modes.

Only way to fix it has been to turn the a/c off, then turn it back on with the fan set anywhere less than high. Happens with heat or cold, doesnt matter.

Relatively minor issue but still very infuriating, any help is appreciated, thanks!

So my 2004 V6 4th gen has been giving me P0420/P0430 check engine light code which means my catalytic converters aren’t working properly.
I was quoted about $2300 to get them replaced with the OEM cats, I can’t justify spending this much on a part that isn’t even affecting my car in any way other than giving me a CEL, i was able to pass smog since the CEL only comes up after about a week of driving after clearing it and my cars performance and gas mileage haven’t changed.

My question is: What would you recommend as an aftermarket high flow cat upgrade that can resolve this CEL issue and possibly even add a better sounding tone to the cars exhaust? I want to avoid a straight pipe if possible because i’m not too sure of that will pass smog here in Nevada but i know I should be fine with high flow cats as i have passed smog with them before on a different vehicle.

I have another question I was hopping to get some feedback on.

Due for some new tires and I think I’ve decided on the Wildpeak AT4W, after reading a lot of posts on Reddit.

I currently have 285/70/17 tires w/ 17” -25 offset wheels (did the BMC and bumper cut).

I’d like to stick with same size.

I’m trying to figure out which load rating to go with: C or SL.

At Discount Tire, the C rating is actually cheaper right now than the SL (by about $20/tire).

I don’t do any rock crawling and admittedly, I drive mostly on-road, but I do generally lean towards options that will make my 4Runner more capable when I do off-road.

From what I understand, the C rating is beefier, and that’s what I’m wanting, but will it make a huge difference on-road compared to the SL? (I’m single so I really don’t have anyone to complain about road-noise.)

Any thoughts appreciated! 🙏🏻

Also, if anyone has any recommendations they feel are superior to the Wildpeaks, I’m open to suggestions.

Had her for about a year now. 145k miles

I posted this like an hour ago, but I realized I completely worded it terribly so basically I filled up my tank and it said I have 316 miles till empty I’ve been looking at my odometer and so far I’ve only driven 202 miles which would mean I have a little over 100 miles left but on my range/miles till empty, which is below my radio. It says I only have 16 miles left, which just makes no sense so do I just keep paying attention to my odometer until I get close to 316 before I fill up or should I pay attention to the range and fill up soon

Bushings are torn on my lower control arms, and it's time for an upgrade anyway. So far one of the best options I've come across are the Dirt Kings. Does anyone have any experience with these or have any other suggestions for an upgrade that might be a bit cheaper? Additionally, I should probably do uppers while I'm there anyway. So some reccomdendations there would be amazing as well. Thanks guys!

Is getting undercoated RN (right now). Wire brushed, rust converted, and flushed my frame this year. Gonna let the Krown cook for a few days, then black fluid film everything. Redundency is the point.

Looking at new head units and I think I’m settled on the Sony XAV-AX4000. Looking for some input and feedback, is it easy to install? My requirements for what I’m after are apple car play/wireless capable, reliable, easy install, backup camera compatible, and i like the idea of using it for videos but its not a requirement or worth a lot of extra $$. For anyone who has gone this route any complaints or regrets or things you wish you would have known before installing? Any alternatives that meet the requirements and may be better? Looking for any other insights or recommendations especially on backup cameras or other installation recs? I love that I can still play my cds on my OG head unit and even cassette tapes but it’s on its way out and I’d rather replace before. If there’s any way to easily/cost effectively incorporate a cd player or there are alternatives that have this without sacrificing my other requirements please chime in! Thanks 🙏

Hey hey, took the grill off to touch up some paint. Upon reinstall, this bolt way off to the side (colored red in image) snapped off, and now the grill is more wiggly/loose. This particular bolt seems like it's fused to the metal part it goes through? Anyone have any success busting this one bolt loose? I have spare t bolts, but can't get this one to back out. Thanks in advance!

Started today, happens when I’m coming to a stop and idling in drive AND when I roll my windows down 🤔 started after driving down a dirt road, thought maybe something was lodged because it stopped after hitting a bump but started again. Now it’s intermittent if it happens or not. Any ideas?

2009 SR5

Can’t post photos because I guess it’s automatically tagging it as a rust post. Which it is, but I’m seeing if anyone has experience with welding in a new crossmember and what it cost them. The rust is limited to the very corners where the tow hooks are. Rest of the frame is in really good condition.

Was messing around with a corroded actuator today and was in this forum looking for posts related to it- lubed it up and got it working- then I was wondering about why the rear window stopped working and someone mentioned the child safety locks!
My daughter and I went out there and lo and behold that was the culprit, it’s her car and she is thrilled
