Hey all so I had a 16 GB Sandisk SDHC card in my New Nintendo 3DS XL for like 10 years, still going strong surprisingly, but I decided to upgrade to 128 GB SDHC, also from Sandisk. I followed the steps here to do it via GodMode9 and it worked fine, then I moved any data I needed to off the old SDHC to my computer, and then to the new SDHC. When I went to put my new SDHC into my 3DS and turned it on, I wasn't greeted by a home menu, but I literally was every other time so what had happened??? I was able to boot into Luma3DS, GodMode9 etc. and GodMode9 saw my SD card fine so I didn't insert it wrong or anything. I went to 3DS Homebrew who gave me a website to follow and nothing worked, I even tried updating Luma3DS which updating it worked, but still didn't make it boot. What made it work was going into Safe Mode, and then suddenly, it booted! The system couldn't even boot into the home menu without an SD card in it which is concerning because I literally had Luma3DS installed to the NAND so it should have booted fine. It is a lot slower to boot though so that's a downside I didn't know about but otherwise it works fine now. All my data transferred successfully and everything.

Do any of you have any clue as to what happened? I was told it was just a coincidence but honestly, I don't think it was. I think this is something that shouldn't be shrugged off personally. Its scary. I don't want my 3DS to do this again, what are the chances it does? ☹️

I got Animal Crossing New Leaf to show up by launching and then closing the ROM. This hasn't worked for Animal Crossing Happy Home Designer or Tomodachi Life though.

Why might a newly installed 3DS ROM (.cia file) not show up in Checkpoint? I just made these ROMs from my cartridges. The launchers are on my home screen and work, they just aren't showing up in Checkpoint.

I have seen a few of these, but none really just for a US game that reads onto the console, but shows up with the message "This game cannot be played" maybe a loose translation but that's what google translate gave me. I don't really even mind the language for now, but I have a bunch of US 3ds games and want to play them as is. The one I'm trying is Omega Ruby, but still has the error. Please help!

I loaded up my 3ds as any other day, modded since March 2026. It opened the LUMA3ds menu so i just thought okay, ill just press save and exit. Little did i know, everythings gone. My 3ds games, the entire menu, my custom homebrew apps and games. Everything.

Im not entirely sure what to do, I would really appreciate some IMMEDIATE help as im really scared this has destroyed everything including my cherished new leaf town.

After updating Pretendo and restarting, smash will no longer and instead gives this black screen.
Before updating, I got a “Nintendo is restricting these online services.” I was not scared, because I knew you couldn’t get banned on a 3ds anymore, so I figured it was something such as Pretendo.
As of now, after saving and deleting 000017, deleting 000017, clicking ”import seed” on FBI, and creating and restoring a save on checkpoint, Smash still has made no progress.
I figure this is a high memory game issue, but my ultra Sun copy still works fine.
Online still works elsewhere, (Street Fighter V 3D)
And I got my copy, as well as all my games, from Hshop.
Is there anything I haven’t tried? Maybe done wrong.

Hey everyone, I need some help with my hacked 2DS XL.

I hacked it a while ago using an R4 Gold card, and when I tried turning it on today, all I got was a black screen.

Here’s what I’ve tried so far:
-Tried updating Luma3DS, but that didn’t fix the issue.
-Formatted the SD card to start fresh and redo the hack, but now I can’t get the necessary files set up because the console won’t boot…..

At this point, I’m not sure what else to try. Has anyone experienced something similar or have any suggestions on how I could bring my 2DS XL back to life?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I’d really like to get her working again!

If I use GodMode9 to remove the previous owner's Nintendo Network ID (NNID) from my homebrewed 3DS XL, can I create a new NNID in 2026 and use it to access Pokémon Bank? Will Pokémon Bank still connect to Nintendo's servers after changing NNIDs, even though the 3DS online services have shut down? I want to transfer Pokémon from my physical Pokémon Moon cartridges to Pokémon HOME.

I bought a Japanese pokemon diamond, but I read online that I cannot transfer my pokemon from Japanese diamond to an American pokemon black. Is there a way I could get it up through transferring through an emulator, or some custom firmware. Any way I could without just buying a Japanese black or an American pokemon diamond.

I own bank and transporter for the final step.

Hi! I tried to do a full shell replacement on my New 3DS XL, and now it won’t turn on :/ I thought I could handle it, but clearly I was wrong lol.

It just won’t turn on at all. No click, no flash, absolutely nothing. When I plug it into the charger, the orange charging light comes on, but that’s it.

As far as I can tell, I didn’t damage any of the ribbon cables. Any advice on what might have gone wrong or what I should check?
