I've recently downloaded the free trial of 3dCoat. From what I've seen others do with it I am seriously considering purchasing a license but I'm concerned that my current RAM isn't really going to cut it. I want software for high density character meshes that I will then use in Blender. Some people say that 3dCoat's voxel sculpting works more efficiently than Blender for very detailed sculpts but does it require more than 16gb RAM to work smoothly?
I specifically wanted it to appear sculpted from a single piece, and to remain on a shelf.
Once I have more time, I will print it using a 0.2mm nozzle; I have a feeling it will make for an amazing miniature!
The prompt was created in GPT-6 Astra and executed using Tripo’s text-to-model program; the only difference is that the video is not AI-generated; GPT-6 Astra “filmed” the statue using code, so it remains perfectly still.
Details: jagged armor, torn red cape, halo-like helmet, curved sword, and globe-like staff—rare!
The stone base is what gives it personality; it stands instead of hovering.
The halo is very delicate as I was concerned it might be damaged during export; it stayed intact.
As the model is rotated, the cape catches the light beautifully and the jagged armor sparkles in unexpected ways.
Model built in GPT-6 Astra -> Tripo -> code render; print profile in ModelPage.
Hi! I'm trying to learn 3DCoat right now and made a simple hand painted coin using a tutorial. I was 2-3 hours into this when a thin white line appeared on the object. I tried to paint over it but it doesn't seem to belong to any layer. When I exported the texture, I found the white line on all the textures like roughness, normal map etc. and I tried fixing it in photoshop. But when I re-imported this to 3DCoat, the white line re-appeared after about 15 minutes. Did anyone have this issue before and how can I fix it?
Didn’t resist the itch. I’m designing everything on the fly so it’s quite a bit of back and forth.
Blocking of the body done in blender and further sculpt in 3dcoat
Bracelet is all 3dcoat
Pants were first sketched in 3dcoat (outer left), then UV unwrapped in blender (center left), traced and tweaked into proper patterns for simulation with garment tool addon (outer right) and finally simulated using blender vanilla cloth simulation.
Next I’ll experiment with armor, more props/accessories and weapons
it always happen that mergedown in paint mode (with just standard blend)make top layer just disappear only bottom layer is visible. its not call "Merge" at all
I just downloaded 3DCoat and I'm currently on the trial version. I'm able to use it just fine and this doesn't seem to affect performance at all, but I would still like to figure out why it looks like the interface is summoning some form of evil whenever I go to use any tools.
Anyone have any ideas? I found one old forum post with the same issue but it didn't get solved.
I urgently need your help. Please tell me how the colors go together (whether all the colors match or not).
Please point out what went wrong in general and needs to be redrawn.
I just need a fresh perspective to understand what is wrong, as I am already fed up with this owl: I don't understand what is happening, and I have been drawing and redrawing for the second week now.
It would be very helpful if anyone could give me some guidance.
The reference is terrible, by the way, and halfway through I realized it was only ruining everything, so I am doing it without it.
A couple of days ago, I finished the retopology, but this time I tried doing it in 3D Coat & Blender. Everyone said that 3D Coat is faster and very functional, and that is partly true; you just need to get used to it. I used Blender at the end because it was more convenient for me to create certain details there.
Hi! I used my free trial a while ago and really loved the software. So I've finally saved up some money to buy a license but for some reason I can't access the 3D Coat website.
It keeps showing error 504 Gateway time out so it seems like the servers are down or something, does anyone know when the site will be back?
