Help with Fixel?

I purchased a 3do with the Fixel ode installed a while back and I am having issues getting my new jump drive to work.

To sum it up, the unit came with a 64gb USB jump drive that had a couple dozen roms on it. It worked fine, but there were some titles I wanted tgat were not on the drive. I found a nearly complete rom set, purchased a 256gb jumpdrive, transferred the roms and bios, and now, when powered on, the 3do just "blinks" the load up screen.

I formatted the new jump drive as exFat....does that matter? According to Google it should not. The old jump drive was Fat32, but my pc did not give me that option. Could this be the issue?

Any advice appreciated.

Did you follow the instructions here, specifically "Copy boot.iso to the root of the USB drive. It must be the first file copied to it after formatting."? exFAT should be fine. Windows limits FAT32 partitions to a max of 32GB, which is why the option didn't appear for you.

Ok, thanks.

I just copied the sd card to the new usb drive. I will reformat the usb drive and copy the boot.iso first, then the game folder.

Hey, me again! Feel like an ass, lol. I know I should have known that. Reformatted the usb drive and followed your advice. Works great! In my defense, I was a couple whiskey & cokes into my evening. Thanks for the nudge!

No worries, glad you got it working! Also in your defense, you probably didn't get the setup instructions since it was secondhand, and it wasn't obvious.

Try another drive and see what happens

exFat should be fine. If you ever need to format a large USB stick to fat32, this util has always worked for me.
