I have played osrs for many years, and I always hear about how terrible RS3 is, so I have given it a try a few times, but the micro transactions and transmogged armor always puts me off right away.
I was looking forward to giving it another try, but based on how they handled this entire project, it just makes me feel like the RS3 team is so tone deaf that anything they do is doing to result in disaster.
I hope RS3 can give its shit together

Jagex is legitimately scared of their own reddit and I think it's becoming one of the biggest problems with this company and in turn, its games. They have become so obsessed with the reaction of a small but extremely loud portion of the playerbase that it feels like they can't make a single game or business decision anymore without immediately looking at reddit to see if they're allowed to stand behind it.

RS3 Reignited is probably the best example of this right now.

You guys made this. You spent the time, money and resources developing it. You made trailers, you took time out at Runefest to annouce it, you put all the pieces into play. Presumably there are people inside Jagex who actually believe in what they're making and have a vision for what RS3 should be going forward. So fucking stand behind it.

It feels like every single announcement for OSRS or RS3 comes with this weird nervous energy where Jagex is already preparing to apologize for whatever reddit decides it doesn't like. I'm not saying don't listen to the community, but listening to feedback and being completely terrified of upsetting reddit are two different things.

At some point you have to have some confidence in the people you hired to make the fucking game.

Make something and explain why you made it. Listen to the feedback and change things when the feedback actually makes sense, but stop acting like every angry reddit thread is a five alarm fire that requires an emergency response from the company. I'd genuinely rather see Jagex make a decision I completely disagree with and actually stand behind it than watch them constantly second guess themselves because Reddit might get mad.

Have some backbone. Have some confidence in your own developers. Have an actual vision for your own game. You're Jagex, you guys literally make RuneScape. Reddit doesn't. Idk let the downvotes flow or whatever. This has just been so annoying lately and I'm bored lol

I couldn't find a support channel for this sort of complaint so apologies if it doesn't belong here...

I tried checking my account settings yesterday after seeing a post about linked third-party accounts, and the state of Jagex's desktop web portals is honestly shocking.

Trying to find a basic security setting turned into a frustrating scavenger hunt because everything is split across disconnected subdomains and menus. (Why is finding "linked accounts" buried away when it should be front-and-center under account management?)

Worse than the layout is the actual tech stack. It felt like the site was actively trying to block me from using it:

• Endless Cloudflare/Bot Checks: I got re-checked to prove I was human seemingly any time I clicked anything.
• Cookie Consent Loops: I’d accept the cookie policy to clear a prompt, click to navigate deeper, and immediately get hit with the exact same cookie banner again.
• Constant Redirects: Bouncing between portals kept dropping my session, turning simple navigation into a loop of re-authenticating and reloading.

When you're trying to do basic account security hygiene on a desktop browser, being treated like a hostile bot on every single click is completely exhausting. Jagex, please fix your web infrastructure. It feels worse than a broken mobile wrapper right now. Security measures are one thing, but the design and layout choices are baffling.

I’ve completed five CoX runs but my elite diary still shows I haven’t completed a run. I stay alive throughout(minus the first run) and I loot the chest at the end.

The players running me through regular ran me through challenge mode to see if that would trigger the completion and that didn’t work either.

What else could I be missing to trigger the completion of the diary?
