You know what’s funny, I saw someone who was rooting against the Mets because they think we bought our entire lineup instead of developing it our system. Like the Juan Soto, Manny Machado, Josh Bell, Yu Darvish, Joe Musgrove, and Josh Hader Padres are a homegrown team lol.

Had they won like 91 games, got the wild card and the 4 seed, everyone would've been stoked and even with an early exit we'd still feel good about the progress that was made.
Instead they had a historically great (by their standards) regular season and ensured that this feels like one of their greatest disappointments ever
