Hello! I've just joined the R9 team with a beautiful mat black edition. Already own track-built 2008 R6R and 2006 R1, the CP3 is just too exciting for the street!

In Europe, the exhaust market is not in the best state. Yoshimura and M4 are not shipped here without importation and shirty European fees. The akra complete titanium race line is the best and cheapest option. Getting full titanium for just 1000€ is the best deal ever from the brand, but I don't like how bulky and long it looks. Other alternatives are much more expensive for just regular steel.

I'm planning on using a second-hand Z900 slip (picture for reference, found some under 200€). Then, find some aftermarket headers from MT09 and ask somebody to craft the middle region. I'm having a hard time finding those headers since most of the stuff put there looks like aliexpress rebranding of doubtful quality.

Any recommendations around this project? I know MT09 headers are compatible with this bike, but I'm afraid of the ground clearance too. I've already seen 2WDW comment on undermount exhaust, and a friend of mine has even scratched the akrapovic line...

Also I've found people selling the baseline exhaust for around 250€. Instead of buying any branded headers, I could keep the original ones, cut the catalytic converter out and fill with tube up to the slip on. Too many possibilities

I'm having a hard time choosing exhausts. The sc crt is around $2,000 and this akra racing one is $1,400~ but I'm concerned it may be too quiet. Since it has a version with cat, or db killer, its hard to find videos with the info for the non db killer one and no cat either.

I'm open to suggestions too. But please send videos or info about your recommendation or context please. Thanks in advance!

Installed some aliexpress mirrors that replicate the rizoma max mirrors. Fit isn’t perfect but works well enough. Mirrors have a blue tint no clue why dont like it though. Mirrors are plug and play took me 10-15 mins max to install. Quality of mirrors are pretty good and shipping took a week max.

Missing the days of riding, so since I can’t ride right now I’ll shop for it. Needing exhaust options and clutch and brake levers, but open to any and all suggestions for things I can purchase to make it an amazing bike for when I get back to riding.

Anyone else’s R9 eating up front sprockets like crazy? I’ve gone through 2 in 2600 miles. I am learning to wheelie so it’s being abused but I feel like it’s still pre mature. Any advice helps.

Thinking of getting this turn signal kit for the R9 when my rear wings come in but theyre made for the r1, not the r9. So i was wondering if any of yall have both to see if they have the same connectors? TIA

I'm trying to find a way to view my Y-Trac lap data on a full sized screen. I've got it on my phone but it's painfully small, and I don't have a tablet to use. Is there a way to view it on my computer? I saw a youtube video on how to export individual laps but the interface is different than what I see. Been Googling on my own for like an hour and can't find the solution. Anybody know of a way? Thanks all.

So im thinking of upgrading to an R9 (from a Z650) next summer, and while it won't be a dedicated track bike, I live 40 mins from a really amazing track and would track the bike occasionally.

I'm doing some research, and I've heard a good bit of people claim the bike is uncomfortable due to how wide it is, especially for a track. I'm trynna take with a grain of salt, I know a lot of people hate on the R9 since they prefer the R6, but im 5'10 (5'11 on a good day), and am pretty lean at 160 pounds, so I'm worried that maybe the R9 might be a bit wide for me.

I know the obvious answer is "test ride a R9" and I would if there was one closer to me, most dealers around me do not have a R9 available yet plus its almost winter were im at, so I cant really test ride one right now.

I need help finding some aftermarket mirrors to clean up the look of my r9. I know a lot of people just remove the mirrors and get the block off plate which looks nice but I would prefer to still have mirrors. I would love something for the r9 that still utilizes turn signals, I’m planning on grabbing doing the tst dlr mod as well but I still want ambers.

I recently tried swapping my stock master cylinder for a Brembo RCS Corsa Corta on my Yamaha R9.
The issue is that the stock brake lines don't seem to line up correctly with the Brembo banjo bolt orientation. Trying to fit them requires awkward routing and puts stress/kinks on the hard sections of the line, which doesn't feel safe at all.
For those who have done radial master cylinder upgrades on this bike or similar modern Yamahas:
Did you have to replace the front lines with custom/aftermarket braided lines (e.g., Spiegler, Core Moto, HEL)?

Is there a specific banjo bolt angle/adapter that makes the stock routing work without pinching the line?

Any advice or recommendations are greatly appreciated. Safety first!

Kind of my own fault, used earplugs ever since I picked it up from dealer, recently got the 600miles and that last ride I forgot my plugs and notice the engine sound with a very subtle ticking? Maybe I'm just tripping and overhearing it now, or its normal, I just want some reassurance.

I'm waiting on my oil and filter to arrive from amazon so I haven't ride in a bit. But that has never left my mind and decided to record this. Is unaudible over 25mph or so. And its not even an audible sound at idle or slow anyways. So is it a weird sound or is it normal cp3 engine?

I recently got my brand new R9 and decided to adjust the lever angles to better suit my ergos. Subsequently decided to play with the clutch slack and now I can't figure out what's to spec. I've tried adjusting both the top fine adjustment knob and coarse adjustment by the clutch arm but can barely achieve any free play in the lever if at all.

Only way I've seemed to be able to get any free play is by having the lever pretty loose and flopping around (video attached) but am not sure if that's fine or if that's too loose?

Any input/advice would be appreciated!!

(Main question is if the clutch lever not sitting against the perch is normal)

I am looking to upgrade from my sv650s to an R9. Firstly, i was considering the Anniversary edition, but it's not a yamaha authorized dealer, so warranty will be a headache. Then i found some dealers that are authorised, and one that i visited had the blue R9 limited to A2. They said the limit can be removed, however i now read that the removal is only up to 95hp (70kw) on the website, and the spec sheet says 119hp (88kw) max power.

Could the A2 R9 get the full power of 119hp or do i need to look for one that isn't restricted to A2 from the beginning? I have an A license, and for 14k euros i'm expecting the full power thing :D

Update: So i just received a message from the dealership, they can remove the limits and get to full 119hp, however because it was an A2 35kw R9, on papers it has to be written as 95hp for legal reasons
