I’ve never understood why making coffee or tea is “misery”?
It just takes a few minutes.

Course I’m not a coffee or tea drinker. I just drink a soda or take a caffeine tablet.

Is it the lack of instant gratification?

No there is no misery involved at all, especially for all the gratification of its enjoyment
