Dressed like a Bride Someone wore white to my wedding lol

It didn't phase me that night honestly, but like DAMN. My friends apparently wanted to kick her out but didn't want to bother me with anything else that could be stressful (I love my friends so much). I found it pretty funny when I found out, and everyone who saw her was judging HARD, so it was whatever. She would be the person to do that though. Everyone said it haha. I just wanted to share the audacity. In the picture, I'm on the left and she is on the right. I'm honestly pretty sure the dress is supposed to be a very light blue?? Still insane to me haha. It's also floral like a wedding dress. My old boss said we looked like a lesbian couple getting married in that picture and we totally do.

Side note: you may be thinking, "wow that's crazy, but she must have somehow not known." Well, it was in the dress code, which I will also show below :)

Edit: i wish I could add a better picture of my dress because it was so gorgeous and soooo many people have seen this post now. There's a comment buried somewhere that has it haha

this is gold dress / blue dress all over again.

If you see the dress on the left and interpret it as "white", then your brain fills in context that it must be amber lighting and that makes the right dress be interpreted as blue in that context.

But you can look at the right dress and see white, and your brain processes it as neutral lighting and so see the left dress as more yellowish.

If you look to the right you can see the dude in an achromatic white. One dress is a warm tinted (yellow) white, the other is a cool tinted (blue) white. Meanwhile the dudes wearing an achromatic white shirt. Those colors are from the dresses, not the lighting.

EDIT: I love it when redditors downvote factual information.

I agree. I'm just saying your brain frequently lies to you in order to smooth out information.

I believe the bride's dress is classified as "cream" or "ivory" in the bridal dress world (a case could be made for "champagne" for some dress designers, but those tend toward a more purple undertone) while the guest's dress is called "platinum" or "blue" in bridal dresses. It was definitely a deliberate choice and not the lighting. I had to look up the colors, because once upon a time long, long ago, I spent several hours in a bridal shop and remember seeing so many tints of "white" and thinking to myself that people must be blind—I have since learned that there is a good chance I'm just someone with tetrachromacy.

The lighting is neutral, there's a guy in a true white dress shirt on the right.

The left dress is cream, the right is light blue.

What if we see the left dress as yellowish anyway and the right as blue?

They probably are pretty yellowish and very slightly blue-tinted white.
