Discussion / Question The vocal minority of GTA 6 negativity has gotten real annoying.
I find it quite annoying when people make it there whole personality to dislike GTA 6, or not care about the game. It often comes off as quite performative and theatrical.
And of course people have their own tastes and opinions on things, as do I, but I also don't go around leaving comments or posts about how much I don't care about or hate something. For example, I've seen a few posts talking about the new OOT remake with a few comments saying something like "This is going to DESTROY GTA 6".
Being a fan of one series and not another is fine of course, but why are we bringing completely unrelated games into the conversation about a game you supposedly have zero interest in? Why are we even pitting these two games against each other?
Sometimes it feels like were not even talking about one of the most highly anticipated games in the world from one of the most critically acclaimed series of all time.

It cuts both ways. Hating on the game for no good reason is tiresome but on the other hand, the people who are saying things like "game of the decade!" when it's not even out yet, are also tiresome.

it's because people who don't care for GTA, are sick an tired hearing about it. people for year have already been saying "we got X before GTA6", and a lot of games and games media have been centered on GTA for the the last few months and will increase towards launch. the people who are hating on GTA are not making it their personalities. they are simply getting fed up with those who actually have made GTA6 glaze their personality.

Well that’s also kind of weird to me, because even if something is being talked about constantly, does that make it fine to be toxic about it? That’s not a good excuse.

I haven’t seen anyone be toxic, but I mean… I don’t blame them. If a series I had no care for was all people were talking about, or whenever a new game comes out people just start talking about a thing you don’t like or care for, I could see you getting annoyed at those who are super excited about this thing which is sucking the air from the room.

It for sure goes both ways. Fans of the game are just as annoying. I’ll see videos of people talking about games coming out that they are getting, and comments will be like “why would yall buy this, GTA is going to be way better”. Both groups are annoying they both do the same things, to act like it’s just people not excited is disingenuous. Like who cares if people aren’t interested, people like different things.

It’s crazy because this even extends to real life. When I was talking about upcoming games I’m interested in, some of my friends would eventually ask me about GTA, and I’d tell them, “I don’t care about GTA.” Then they’d start losing their minds because apparently the thought is impossible for them.
Like, I don’t even get it. I’ve never shown any interest in games like GTA, so why the hell would you expect me to care now?

Yep that’s happened to me too. I’ve had people genuinely upset when I told them im not getting it, they couldn’t imagine it, told them I haven’t played a gta game since San Andreas, that made them more upset.
At the same time, I’m not gonna hate on the people excited about it, it’s awesome to be that excited for a game. That’s me with the new Divinity, but I couldn’t imagine getting mad cause people aren’t interested in it. Like people have different taste lol it’s crazy how some people are with games in general

The game isn't out yet.
All we know is the curated content they have allowed you to see. And as well ALL know, gaming companies are WELL KNOWN for lies and exaggerating.
And they are determined to be anti consumer by charging you $100 for the real game and denying you ownership via disk and even then it will likely REQUIRE a download to even play. I hope the entire video game industry burns to the ground honestly. It would be for the best, the only truly great games now are indie games or games made by people with the hearts of indie developers and they haven't been corpo controlled into oblivion.
YOU! Will own nothing and be happy.
But I sure won't be happy, and I damn well sure shall own my games.

I’m not sure what a post like this is supposed to prove.
GTA fans have been talking about GTA VI like it’s automatically going to be Game of the Year and better than everything else that’s already out, despite the game not even being released yet. So I don’t really understand complaining about some Zelda fans saying their upcoming game is going to be better. They’re just doing the same thing as gta fans and yet you somehow dislike that in comparison?

The difference to me is the way it’s concentrated to one game. Saying “GTA 6 will be GOTY hands down” is way different than saying “GTA 6 is going to shit on X”. The later is just rude and uncalled for, while the former is just what fans say when they’re excited and cocky lol.

Maybe the vocal minority isn't that minor. It's the biggest game ever so people will voice their opinions. Whatever they are.
You get it with any topic. If I criticize PlayStation and the current leadership I also get told to shut up and just go away because in theory I can just walk away from gaming and sell my console if I don't like it. And then the problem is solved.
Well it's not.. I have opinions, investments, and sometimes they are on the negative side which I like to voice.
I suggest you just scroll on really. Especially if your mind is made up. Or if it's trivial such as that Zelda example. Great looking game. But of course it's not crushing GTA. So just scroll on and don't waste YOUR time replying. But let others say what they want because sometimes they do have a point, and we have to let free speech be a thing.

I just don't think the game is gonna be very good based on what Rockstar has shown so far and it's likely to be a huge mediocre disappointment, also the fact it's being released with no physical copy, base game content locked behind a pre order and it's in 30fps with it's huge budget has also made lose interest in the game
