Magix Vegas Pro 14 - 23 Every Vegas pro 22 timeline, export audio is broken

• Upvotes

When I export my project, into any format (prproj, xml, fcpxml, edl) then re-import the project (into vegas pro 22 and davinci resolve studio 21), it only takes the first audio track and repeats it for how many tracks there are supposed to be.

It's a blank test project, no fx, only cuts and markers. Ideally I want to be able to sent cut footage to resolve for fx, but nothing seems to work. I did stumble across something called "VegasDavinciLinkToolz" on github but I don't know if I trust it.

I'm at a loss, the only help I've found online is that vegas can't export.

Magix Vegas Pro 14 - 23 Rendering / File Format

• Upvotes

Hi,

I have used VEGAS Pro for years as an influencer. I am having several issues that are persisting regardless of how I troubleshoot them. I have paid for the program, and I have the VEGAS Pro 21.0 version. I have a ROG Strix G733ZW ROG laptop. Everything is up to date, including the drivers. I have never had processing issues other than what I am about to describe.

The issues:

When I am doing normal YouTube dimensions (horizontal), I have no issues with rendering. However, it has been a huge issue for me to try and render ANY short-form dimensions. The program will glitch in many different ways and will not process to completion. I have had to resort to CapCut for short-form clips, which is a lot of extra time and steps that I do not want to do!

I film on iPhone most of the time, using 4K video. In the past, I have downloaded the footage from iCloud and had no issues bringing said footage into VEGAS Pro. (At times, iCloud will download a ZIP file with the video, and I just drag the raw footage into a folder, then straight into the program for editing.) Note: I have had issues over the past week, and I cannot get iCloud to download the ZIP files anymore. The files are .MOV files from iCloud. VEGAS Pro does not seem to like these files for some reason now... I have tried to fix the drag-and-drop issue in all the ways that I know how. I do not want to sacrifice 4K quality.

By going to Preferences, File I/O, and enabling the checkboxes for Enable legacy AVC decoding & Enable experimental HEVC decoding, I am able to get the .MOV files into the program! However, no matter how I try to render it, there are issues persisting. It's not the footage itself; it looks and sounds fine on my phone, when I download it to my computer, and when I put it into other programs like CapCut. But when it's in VEGAS Pro, there are random black-screen moments as well as audio cutouts (but the audio looks fine on the audio wave lines; it just goes silent in the program).

I have tried to download the QuickTime Player fix that I have seen work for others in YouTube videos. That did not work for me. I have also tried uninstalling the program and redownloading the program that I purchased, and that doesn't work either. I even downloaded HandBrake to use to convert the files into an .MP4, which came with its own set of new issues. Plus, I don't want to add more steps/time editing and converting that are not needed. I am frustrated, depressed, and at a loss about this!

If anyone could help me with this, I would be eternally grateful. It's ruining my life.

Vegas Pro 2026 Excited to get Vegas Pro update now that Boris has it, Boris FX Hub will not log me in - anyone else have this issue?

I've been a Vegas user since the first version, been using VP16 for years now. Attempted to update with Magix two years ago and never got the license to work, even with many, many communications with Magix support. I gave up. Then Boris took over. I was hoping VP26 from Boris would correct a lot of the issues I've been having. Just purchased the VP 26 licenses. Downloaded Boris FX Hub to acquire the software.....it consistently gives me error notifications when I attempt to log in. Tried different browsers. No luck. Has anyone else encountered this? I just want my damned software. Submitted support tickets.....waiting. This is kind of infuriating.

This is on a Windows 11 Pro, Intel i9 14900k, 128GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce1070, Asus ProArt Z790 Creator

💡Feedback / Feature VEGAS Pro editors: how did your last preview/export check go? (18+, edited in past 3 months; 5–7 min)

Are you 18 or older and have you personally edited a video in VEGAS Pro in the past 3 months? Share one recent editing session in this 5–7 minute survey:

https://forms.gle/TG4yDcomK5pTnMKn6

NeedScope Lab is conducting independent commercial product research into video-editing workflows. We are not affiliated with VEGAS Pro or Boris FX. Think of your last session, from arranging clips to checking a preview or reviewing the exported video: what worked well, and what, if anything, needed rechecking? The survey asks about your current tools, workarounds, hands-on time and existing software spending.

Hobbyists and professionals are welcome if they meet the conditions. You do not need to use AI, have a problem, buy add-ons or be interested in a new tool. Satisfied workflows and free-tool users are useful perspectives too.

Participation is voluntary and unpaid. Nothing is being sold. Any question about a paid trial is hypothetical, not a request for payment or a purchase commitment. Contact details are optional and used only for research follow-up you agree to. Please leave out confidential client information, private footage, account or license details. Please complete this v2 survey only once. AI assistance was used to draft this invitation.

🐛Bugs Dynamic RAM Preview not working

I switched to the latest version of Vegas Pro 2026 after Vegas Pro 17. Everything seemed fine until I tried to use Dynamic RAM Preview. For some reason, it's just not caching correctly. It's either caching clips less than a second or a single frame. I've already turned the Dynamic RAM Preview max to its highest setting, but that didn't fix anything.

This was never an issue in Sony Vegas 17, so there's likely a setting I'm missing that's making it unusable. But I could be wrong. Any advice?

Magix Vegas Pro 14 - 23 Is Vegas Pro going dead?

Post image
56 Upvotes

What’s going on with Vegas Pro. I remember how popular Vegas Pro was 10 years ago and now you’ll be lucky if someone recommend it or make a video about it on YouTube. Everyone using Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, CapCut or Final Cut Pro right now. Some people even recommend iMovie or CyberLink PowerDirector but they forgot about Vegas Pro.

Vegas Pro been my favorite video editing software since Vegas Pro 14. I’m still using it today with Vegas Pro 23. It’s easy to use and it has some great features but seems like it’s time was the past. Do you still use Vegas Pro or you move to DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, CapCut?

In my opinion the biggest problem was paying $600 and $400 every year to upgrade, it was expensive while DaVinci Resolve, CapCut and PowerDirector are free. People also said Vegas Pro be crashing for them

Magix Vegas Pro 14 - 23 The issue with up to date Nvidia Drivers and Vegas 22 or lower

Has Nvidia made any changes? My copy of Windows 11 is starting to force me up update my driver version from the stable one dated October 2025 to the most recent one, and the last time I tried it in March of this year, it stopped me from rendering using my Nvidia Codec. I'm just wondering if this means I'll need to continue downgrading my driver monthly now?

My Specs are

Asrock Mobo

32GB DDR5 6,000MT/s Ram

AMD Ryzen 7 9700X CPU

Nvidea RTX 5060ti 16GB GPU

Running Win 11 26H2

🤔How Do I Do This? How can I fix this audio problem

Vegas Pro Timeline & Final Render Audio Glitch Issue

I have been facing a persistent audio issue for almost 3 years now, and I still haven't found a way to fix it.

As described, the only temporary workaround for this audio glitch is to restart the program. However, while editing and rendering, this corrupted audio constantly shifts its position on the timeline.

For example:

If I am working on a 5-minute video and notice the audio glitch at the 0:30 mark on the timeline, it might shift to 0:40 in the final render. This glitch/stutter effect repeats throughout the entire video, and I cannot seem to resolve it.

Current Audio Setup:

  • Sample Rate & Bit Depth: Configured identically across Windows, OBS, and Vegas Pro at 48 kHz / 24-bit.
  • Software: Currently running Vegas Pro 22, but this issue has persisted across both older and newer versions.
  • Recording Format: Captured via OBS using 24-bit PCM (switching to other audio codecs does not resolve the issue).

System Specifications:

  • Motherboard: MSI MPG X570S Carbon Max WiFi
  • CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080

Troubleshooting Steps Attempted (Unsuccessful):

  1. Updated all drivers and performed a clean Windows reinstallation / format.
  2. Disabled GPU acceleration within Vegas Pro.
  3. Attempted software-only (CPU) rendering.

None of these adjustments have resolved the issue. The audio shift and artifacting occur not only during timeline playback but are also baked directly into the final rendered output.

Problem with audio

Sony Vegas Pro 13 and Older I am currently watching the show For All Mankind, on Apple TV. I’m on season 5, episode 8, and I had to rewind and pause because I noticed this interface during a scene. CAN CONFIRM, people living on Mars in the show were editing videos with an older Sony Vegas Pro!

Vegas Pro 2026 Velocity

Hello all,

If upgrading to the latest Boris/vegas does Velocity still suck? As in does every point added or speed change still screw up all the other point?

Is there an option to lock in a length If have a 30 second clip and slow it 50% will it make the clip 60 seconds?

I find now, if i move just one point it, it changes others as the clip ending keeps changing.

Can i pin an exact frame and have it stay.

Thanks,

Simple Jack

🤔How Do I Do This? How to make vegas specific proxies outside of vegas? (also general proxy advice)

Hey, Vegas pro 22 makes mpeg xdcam 35 proxies at 1280x720p. I've been having trouble finding a good proxy that doesn't either crush the video or have 20x the filesize. The best I've come up with is a prores codec at 6x filesize, but vegas' proxies are 4x.

When I convert to xdcam hd 35 in shutter encoder, it either doesn't import into vegas, or it crashes immediately on import. Being able to encode in shutter would be a huge benefit since it takes about 1/10th the time, though I noticed vegas' xdcam are 24fps, but I can't change the fps for xdcam in shutter.

I've had little success with other encoders. Ideally I want something that can also be worked smoothly by my editors in resolve, but for this project I need something specifically for vegas first (it's an old poorly optimized project that barely imports to vegas), with, at tops, x6 filesize limit (source is 500gb, I only have around 2tb for this project)

I've also been banging my head against a wall trying to find a suitable codec that doesn't need to be proxied. For eg, test 14 is h265 h265, zero latency main 444-intra veryfast quality 22 but vegas won't import it, same "could not be opened" error. I can't tell if I'm missing something, because sometimes a h265/264 codec will work, I'll change something, it doesn't work, change it back, and now it doesn't work. I've lost the ability to parse any more information on the topic

(apologies for the out of order images)

vegas 22 legit, windows 10, ryzen 7 5800x, nvidia 4070ti super,

test 14, h265 h265, zero latency main 444-intra veryfast quality 22, won't import
xdcam hd 35 (shutter encoder) .mxf container, doesn't import
shutter encode xdcam hd 35 .mxf container (default) can't import
shutter encode xdcam hd 35 .mov container, imports sometimes but crashes 100% of the time
shutter encode xdcam hd 35 .mxf container (default) can't import
shutter encode xdcam hd 35 .mov container, imports sometimes but crashes 100% of the time

Hi guys, I really need your help on how to fix this flashing issue in Vegas Pro 23 full-screen preview. I'm currently using the trial right now because I thought that my previous pirated copy was causing the flashing.

Here are the specs of the computer that I'm using:
Computer/laptop: Huawei Matebook D16
GPU: Intel(R) UHD Graphics
CPU: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12450H (2.00 GHz)
RAM: 16.0 GB

The video in the project was taken by an iPhone.

Magix Vegas Pro 14 - 23 What version is WORTH it

As someone who still uses 18 despite all its flaws and is looking to upgrade my workflow, is it worth it to move to Premiere Pro which I've been considering for a good while now, or, get VP 26? I do graphic intensive editing from time to time and mainly just basic gaming content.

Magix Vegas Pro 14 - 23 Vegas Pro crashes on "Creating video plugin factory" with Ignite Plugins installed.

A previous fix was to take them out of the OFX folder and put them back in said folder each time Vegas would crash and show the message accordingly. It worked at the start but nothing's working this time. Doesn't even display a crash message and instead just closes the software on "Creating video plugin factory" after the spinning circle. I've primarily used Vegas 17 (which is pirated) with Ignite Pro 4.19221.34279. For my system, I use Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSC. I tried loading up the other versions in my disposal like 18, and 21 (that are also pirated) and I tried installing the 2021 version of Ignite Pro. Guess what? No avail. I would expect Vegas just to load normally with all my plugins installed, including Ignite with no hassle.

On top of that, I've updated my NVIDIA driver recently to 617.42, so that means I use a GeForce RTX 3070. Last night, I tried reverting to an old drive from 2022 to see if it'll fix anything. No matter what I try doing, things just don't want to work. When I take out the Ignite plugins out of the OFX folder it works as normal somehow. It's like a curse no matter what version I install to make it better.

Almost forgot to mention that the Ignite video plugins are also pirated.

I genuinely do not know what's going on now and as you can tell, I'm getting frustrated.
