Why TikTok is fueling that culture war brainrot bs?

I am a man and I DON’T GIVE A FLYING FUCK about either if those were mermaids or drunk sailors/incompetent navigators. What’s the point of this post and video? That’s sexism in reverse, similar to how some stupid men spread ā€œwomen are bad driversā€œ stereotype. I mean women and men should get along, there is one good thing for that and it is called sex

In fact, humans see better, we just can’t see it all at once because how our ā€œautofocusā€ works. Maybe we see it less saturated but I like artist’s vision, it feels ā€œnaturalā€. Back in the days Nikon cameras wer shooting like this, as well as older iPhones, or they needed only minor saturation boosts to look like that

I Hate These Kinds of YouTube Thumbnails So Much
 in  r/RantingZone •  4d ago

YouTube has been a shithole for more than 15 years already. This type of clickbait titles and cover images existed ever since 2012 I believe. It would take nothing for Google to re-train their algorithm and nit this type of videos, but they instead are fueling this type of manipulative behavior because it gives big creators views, and in turn they get ad placement and money from advertisers.

These days it is even worse: some half-assed image created by by some AI slop machine like Grok with text that their social media managers often fail to check for mistakes

What if I tell you photos weren’t edited? That’s literally how pro cameras shoot in JPEG. Why do people on reddit need to insert some weird comments for everythingšŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø Btw blue eyes are often found within people living in the region, many arabs for example have blue eyes

No, these are real photos, just very high quality. No slop AI can touch this. This is how photography used to look like 15 years ago before arrival of computational shittography in out smartphones.

Photographer: Daniel Malikyar. He has his own Instagram and is working with Fujifilm, he had likely used one of their medium format cameras to take these photos

If they made it with GTA San Andreas/GTA Vice City graphics, maybe it could have been possible. The main issue is RAM though, it would still need around 32+ GB or more

Anyone started drinking coffee in their childhood and has quitted?
 in  r/decaf •  9d ago

Then why give up? This sub is generally for people who found that coffee interferes with their life or simply makes them feel unwell. Some people drink and metabolize coffee and caffeine fast, so they have no issues. I think I wish I was like that. But for some reason even decaf makes me feel weird, but other caffeine sources mostly do not (tea, chocolate).

In my culture where I come from (Eastern Europe) we are vice versa - no one in my family ever bothered to make morning coffee, but having a teabag of black tea with milk was a morning staple and ever since I still can’t really give up this addictive habit, though I often drink it without milk as well.

Btw I wonder, what country were you traveling to? It is such a surprise there are places where there is no coffee these days, I thought it is everywhere, though affordability varies from country to country, in Netherlands for example they can sell espresso for 4 freaking euros, man… I mean in any local Albert Heijn a good 500 gram pack of coffee can be bought for 14€, and they are selling those teeny weeny drinks for so muchšŸ˜„ That’s why most people make it at home mostly

quitting today. it’s come to a head

It is a substance addiction loop when body craves more ā€œfreeā€ dopamine. Try to find some hobbies that might keep you busy instead, something that you truly like - games, cars, some sports maybe, gardening, even LEGO. Anything that might give you dopamine without you actually consuming anything bad. Changing food habits might help too, eating fiber-rich and protein-rich foods might fill you more than ā€œeasy snacksā€ like chocolate bars or chips.

Caffeine itself isn’t as bad as it might seem. But coffee is hard on guts, especially if there are any underlying conditions like GERD or gastritis. Not everyone can withstand coffee, but some people have no issues with coffee with milk. I suggest you to try teas-only instead, drink tea instead of coffee, it has some caffeine and tastes good, with or without sugar and/or milk

1 year decaf (kinda)
 in  r/decaf •  14d ago

Tea is tricky. One day it can be good, the other day it can trigger headache, lightheadedness and symptoms similar to being tipsy, but at the same time anxious. Somehow for me green tea and oolong are especially triggering, matcha included, since it is a powdered green tea

yeah, I’ve read somewhere that for some people caffeine triggers increase in cortisol levels, which in fact increase sebum (skin oil) production, and as a result it blocks skin pores and creates ideal ground for acne and eczema.

When I was a kid I loved coca cola and drank it daily. And I was completely covered with ugly acne. Conventional wisdom says its sugar, but I have zero issues with sugar alone or sugar in foods. So it is either caffeine, e338, or both

Made a handy flowchart since it keeps coming up.

Switch 2 is the ultimate weapon, period. Why would you want something else? It is the cheapest flagship console on the market, is portable, will support all the new games AND whats important - fully supports Switch 1 games and cartridges. Even with the updated RAM-influenced pricing, it is still a very good device. Also build quality is superior to all older Switch consoles that Nintendo has released in the past

Sometimes, wildlife can truly surprise you
 in  r/BeAmazed •  Sep 02 '26

yeah, true. I know that but unfortunately other people do not. Funnily enough, I’ve tried feeding them some vegetables but they are so much used to bread that they literally refused to eat veggies🤣 Kinda like some people who mostly have fast food

Duck wants some food, people often feed them with bread so that's why they are super friendly and chill. I like to take a boat sometimes and feed them whenever I get a chance to see them

Old School Coffee Maker
 in  r/BeAmazed •  Sep 02 '26

Not Temu definitely, I believe it was made by Belgians and actually was never a commercially success. But it was later discovered by collectors as a "fun coffee maker". With that said, even Italian Napoletana brewer was and still is more relevant, although it makes coffee for whole 10 minutes and it is quite often lukewarm

And often it might not even taste good, am I right?šŸ™‚ Bean there (pun intended), done that. After tasting some coffees from local market chains (Albert Heijn, Jumbo) feels like I wasted a shitton of money haha
