TV Show I’m irritated Spoiler
Okay, so I’m starting this out saying I enjoyed watching the show. I liked it. I just finished it after watching it for like a month.
But oh my god did it pmo (in a fun way ig).
There were so many inconsistencies, and I loved to complain about them. Like Audrey, she switched up so fast after literally 7 years of being a Wilford hater, to just get sucked back into his manipulations and stay there through all the shit. (Also, lowkey, her songs were kind of ass sometimes. Her voice was really good, but most of the songs were so badly written 💀)
And Layton: I hate that guy so much. He comes out of the tail, having gotten this really good opportunity to be needed by his oppressors and possibly start changing shit, and he immediately gets with his ex. After spending >7 years with Josie in the tail, basically adopting a kid with her, he sleeps with what’s-her-face at the first opportunity, AND KNOCKS HER UP. And once Josie finds out, she DOESN’T get mad at him??? And then he basically leaves Josie for Zarah, bc she’s pregnant with his child 🙄, Josie kind of gets with Ben but is still obvi in love with Andre, and then the second Andre tells her he wants her back Josie gets with him again. When Andre found Asha, I legit thought she would become another love interest for him. He just acts so self-righteous, like he’s “for the people”, but acts so un-loyally to the women he’s with???? And we’re supposed to like him???
And Melanie. I love her, she’s such a good character, but Omg how tf did she come back from doing the climate model thing??? I know it explained how she survived, but I also know it was so unlikely and unrealistic. It felt so cheap, the big emotional moment where “omg Melanie’s dead, Alex will never see her again” and then “omg Melanie’s actually alive”. I loved her character, but she should’ve just died.
I love Alex’s relationship with Wilford, like the toxicity and how it was shown as a love-hate, bc Alex was basically raised by him, but knows that he was a horrible person, but still loves him.
AND ROCHE. He’s been going back and forth from the Silo to New Eden for however-long, and NO ONE REALLY QUESTIONS OR EXPLAINS IT. Wtf was he doing?? How did he discover them?? How close has the Silo been this entire time?????? Actually, did they ever explain what the silo even was???
That reminds me: the first season, the engine never stopping, the train never stopping moving was a big plot point, or the engine freezes and they all die. But as he seasons go on, they completely ignore that. How did snowpiercer connect to the silo? Was the silo moving with snowpiercer? Did the train just not move that entire time???
The drawers: why was that such a big plot point the earlier season, but completely ignored later on? They had KIDS in the drawers. That’s hugely fucked up.
New Eden: Alex is getting nosebleeds bc of the atmosphere (radiation?? I don’t remember exactly why, and this one might have actually been explained) but everyone is safe to live there??
Miles and miles: he literally disappeared in the later seasons.
I can’t think of much else rn, but OMFG there was so much.
