Then why the fuck isn't Trump in goddamn prison right now?

A judge (presiding over one of the trials/investigations) that he appointed kept kicking the can stalling delaying till he got back in office and then the Supreme Court said Grace over him and blessed him as untouchable

Yes, Judge Cannon should also be in jail for conspiracy and obstruction of justice. It is absolutely absurd the amount of defense she was playing for Trump.

Yeah def not a conflict of interest/cause for recusal to be presiding over your own bosses trial!!

The fact that one judge can derail such a massive proceeding like that is a massive flaw in the system.

I heard she was also drawn at random from one of three possible choices.

(Or at ‘random’.)

The fact that she was not forced to recuse herself from presiding over a case of the man who appointed her just points to the fact that the rich made the rules to always help the rich.

The conflict of interest is just staggering.

Somebody else gets it.

Because America has a long history of not holding people in powerful positions accountable

Because he and his cronies stalled until he was reelected and got immunity.

u/jomara200 15d ago

Not re-elected. Elon stole it for him.

And Merrick Garland being feckless. So concerned with appearing impartial he circled around to incompetent.

I’m gonna be real. Biden deserves a shit ton of blame too. I gave him a lot of good will, and I know he brought a lot of stability after Trump 1.0. However, when he announced his run for a second term, I have fucking hated him ever since. That greedy little prick saw what RGB did and then did the exact same thing to all of us. I hope the rest of his existence is miserable.

It doesn’t help that he put people like Garland in power; either he was criminally naive or a goddamned idiot. Either way, he fucked us all over and will be remembered for nothing but that.

Ah yes, Ruth Gader Binsburg

My mistake, but it might as well be RGB for all it matters now. The only legacy she had was overwritten.

If the US gets out of this, she will be lumped in with the other prideful geriatrics that enabled the rise of fascism.

1

u/girl_incognito 14d ago

That's a pretty jaded view of the years she spent on the bench. But worry not, it just makes me giggle when someone gets it wrong because RGB is fun to say.

Way not to blame the actual people responsible. A feckless SCOTUS and MAGAt meat puppet Aileen Cannon.

Merrick Garland. Ugh.

Never got immunity. Congress is refusing to do their job.

1

u/Special_Order-937 15d ago

Just do what Bangladesh did against their former military dictatorship who gave themselves immunity. Strip it from them and arrest them anyway once you’re in power.

Because the US is a banana republic. This whole article is silly. He is already a convicted felon that flew over all consequences. We all know he is a criminal and deserves to be in jail. Countries like Brazil and S. Korea have shown just how shit the US legal system has become comparatively.

Same reason why none out of war criminal Bush administration went to jail.

3

u/icareforplants 15d ago

Because Merrick Garland is a coward and closeted Republican. Biden was also too weak and slow to act. He also fucked us by running again after age debilitated his brain and body. I vote left every election but fuck both of them forever.

The president should not ever be involved in making decisions about prosecuting individuals, and certainly not his political opponents. Fair point about running for re-election though.

3

u/icareforplants 15d ago

Yeah but it is the presidents fault if he nominates a wet towel or closeted Republican. This is just as much on Biden as it is Garland imo.

Probably the same reason Putin isn't in prison? Some "democracies" are just broken.

1

u/U2ElectricBoogaloo 15d ago

Because the electorate decided they would rather have him in the White House.

1

u/NotBestButPrettyGood 15d ago

Because the people in charge of putting him in prison have their lips permanently attached to his butt

1

u/glassclouds1894 15d ago

Because Republicans in Congress are willing to harass and insult anyone, like Jack Smith, who dare try to get in Trump's way.

1

u/SantaFeRay 15d ago

Because he was able to abuse the legal system to run out the clock until he was elected. Did you sleep through the last few years?

1

u/PayFormer387 15d ago

Americans are stupid.

1

u/Lysol3435 15d ago

Merrick garland had some critical thumb twiddling to do for four years

Paid off judge Cannon.
