News/Article AI was supposed to sell PCs. Instead, PC shipments just crashed 20% as AI eats the world’s RAM, and Windows 11’s Copilot agents aren’t convincing buyers

AI is useful in certain contexts but the biggest issue that I can see is profitability. There was a meme that said winrar was more profitable than OpenAI and they're not wrong; the top AI companies are absolutely hemmorhaging investor money. I'm not sure how much longer they can keep this up and how well they will perform when they have to switch to a for-profit model.

Biggest concern is them getting bailed out by the government. Waste a bunch of investor money, realize you're still not making money, run to daddy gov't for a bailout and hemmorhage taxpayer money as well.

Luckily or unluckily for the US, we don't have any money.

FEDs already made a quiet determination about 6month ago, maybe more now that we are insolvent.

Trump and Republicans have bankrupt us. We have no money to bail them out.

Also part of the point of all this is there isn't even enough money for AI to be bailed out.

Elon may be the only person in the world that could 'bail' out AI of he liquidated all his assets.

But he's not doing that.

It's literally a complete money drain.
