>If there is one thing confuses the F out of me, it's the "Steam is a monopoly" bs. They do nothing to stop people from selling games on other platforms

I’m not a “steam is a monopoly” guy, but there is an argument to be made here, and this deposition goes into detail.

Basically the complaint is not about preventing people from selling games on other platforms, but how Valve maintains its price relative to other platforms.

Basically if you sell your game cheaper on other platforms, Valve isn’t going to promote your game, and it’s possible they might threaten to remove your game off steam.

Those practices are not unheard of, Walmart and Costco do similar things all the time, and AppStores do similar things with similar margins.

But they are targets of similar suits as well.

I appreciate the irony of you making this statement and choosing not to expand on the idea at all in any way.

That's only if you sell Steam keys for less than the Steam price, or if you try to sell additional content that isn't available in the Steam version.

I myself have bought games on other platforms for far less than the all-time lowest Steam price, and that's because I wasn't buying a Steam key and Valve don't police that in the way that certain commentators have claimed.
