“It’s just going to ask you a quick question”

Would you like to tip the $ony executives?

u/just_some_guy_t-roy 19d ago

“I don’t see an option for less than 20%?”

“There isn’t one”

36

u/BusinessKnight0517 18d ago

Sorry that’s the old model, minimum tip is 30%

u/HSIOT55 18d ago

Then if you choose "no tip" a clip of an employee will play on screen, either looking at you judgementally or look away like you just crushed their dreams so you feel guilty.

28

u/Voidless-One 18d ago

I would enjoy crushing their spirit every time!

11

u/ChocolateNo3010 18d ago

If don't tip you get served an ad for 5 minutes

35

u/emachanz 19d ago

Just the tip I swear... works every time with my step-sis

13

u/Dreamo84 18d ago

Yeah… “step” sis… sure.

u/RUPlayersSuck R9 7900X | RTX 5060 TI | 32GB DDR5 17d ago

You tip your step-sis?

20

u/xenogaiden 18d ago

"To save on costs we have decided to remove the 15% and 20% options. Our customers sometimes got decision paralysis and this will help streamline the experience"

This is genuinely how Jetstar Australia tried to justify charging for carry on baggage:

We're updating our carry-on options on Jetstar Airways (JQ) flights for travel from 2 February 2027. With new size-first allowances and no 7kg weight limit, these changes are designed to make packing for your trip simpler and help create a smoother boarding experience.

"How much would you like to tip for this game?"

3

u/PiccoloAwkward465 18d ago

Where do they all learn to say that exact phrase.

This obviously won't be the final design, bro. It doesn't even have the mounted gun that points at you during checkout.

2

u/dawggpound 18d ago

Dont forget to leave a tip

I mean, it is a leaked design....they're well past the ideation phase

Edit: the [removed] comment was; "don't give them ideas"....weird comment to have removed

Really a POS design.

19

u/lerpo 18d ago

That's a solid joke, good work

u/MiamiSkeet69 19d ago

Actually what the lab coats are thinking up right now. “Now how do we get it so its just the chip part on the controller”

41

u/70MCKing 19d ago

Really hope they drop a collector's edition to pair with Gas Station Checkout Simulator

Me who works in IT:

“Press and hold the green button and the circle button together for 10 seconds so it will reboot. …….did that fix it? Great”

10

u/TheShaydow 18d ago

It Crowd :

" Have you tried turning it off and on again? .... I'll wait.

....

" Great goodbye. "

29

u/MaxRei_Xamier 19d ago

after several failed attempts to beat the game's boss "wanna pay to beat Dark Souls Oldborn? ONLY $4.99! "

u/lemulot 18d ago

The retro version

39

u/Assimulate 19d ago

Fuck that's funny man lmao

11

u/SandBasket 19d ago

The tip screen is going to start at 25% as the minimum

22

u/pepperphony 19d ago

Omg, it's going to start asking for tips isn't it...

2

u/EpicEpicnessTheEpic 18d ago

And if it's got a screen, start displaying ads.

2

u/0xbenedikt 19d ago

They really took microtransactions too far. Next year we'll get just the terminal

2

u/kingOofgames 19d ago

It’s like those arcade games. You need to keep tapping every 5 minutes and at the start of every new chapter.

u/nofireplace 19d ago

I've seen this image a day or two ago in another post. Is this headline the source of this meme? It feels like an onion article on one hand, but also the natural evolution of the gaming scene on the other. Pretty soon we are going to have a turn based rpg where each action is some sort of polymarket bet where paying more money influences the odds of success.

Thanks I hate it

The card header would grow from top to bottom for increasing comfort and balance

Sony's next controller innovation

u/Chaos_at_Dawn 18d ago

Choose your tip amount 10% 20% 1000%

u/BobbyMcPrescott 18d ago

Sorry the sun shifted and the card reader can't activate. Please unscrew the backplate and disconnect then reconnect the over designed power/data cable because it is still easier than fishing for the barrel jack connector.

u/Mineplayerminer Desktop 18d ago

The admin controller.

Just opened Reddit and it didn’t disappoint! Thanks for the chuckle this morning

1

u/Substantial-Date508 18d ago

Please remake this with 4 tipping options and 25% preselected

1

u/Soggy-Bluebird-537 18d ago

I thought there was an EA meme decades ago that looked like that.

1

u/Big_Librarian_1130 18d ago

Please tap or swipe.

1

u/MithranArkanere ... 18d ago

That's an early one. It's missing the timer, the gun pointing at the user, and the shackles that hold the hands in place.

1

u/Andross4 18d ago

I hear the finished design will feature a screen with ads and a camera to ensure that you're watching them.

1

u/snuffronk555 18d ago

The design is very human.
