What bothers me the most is the sudden rise of “good enough”-mentality that comes along with it. People know it’s sloppy, don’t even question what they get and wouldn’t have been able to do it without Ai, so they just don’t care.

Why should they care? They're going to get paid the same either way.

If management tells you to use AI and then expects you to scale output, fuck else you’re going to do? Culture comes from the top, good luck finding a company who likes old school artisanal development

This. The boss man expects more and faster now cause "AI can do it". Ok boss. Let AI do it and see the results /deuces

I mean it's a question of time honestly. Getting an answer using a regular Google search often means combing through the first few results to get the answer and there's a fair chance that answer is either incorrect or intentional misinformation depending on the source and topic.

If you can't do it without AI, then you also can't judge the quality of the code, far less improve it.

Slop in slop out. The Law of Sloppy Joe.

Yeah, this. SHit it's one issue I need to raise with one of my co-mods because I'm pretty sure a couple of the mod messages she put up were made with the help of AI and the linguistic quality is just plainly bad. Thing is I have a master's degree in translation so linguistics is my forte so she could've asked me to give that a QC pass and instead... didn't.

In the US fucking everyone is gaining a “good enough” mentality just to get surprised so much shit is going to shit

Like damn bro, I went to fast food restaurants that weren’t busy and they still are likely to fuck up a basic order or it takes a long ass time. You don’t gotta be SpongeBob in that shit, but not giving a shit isn’t convincing enough you need MORE pay to execs, isn’t going to have the average person rallying for you to get more pay, and isn’t making a statement like you think

So in the end, everyone just gets screwed and execs get to not direct money towards better training, benefits, or pay.

It’s so bad with “good enough” I’m pretty sure my formal job automated HR or some shit to not step in while I’m literally saying an action is pretty illegal and violating employment laws… just to end up not doing their job so now they get a court fight. The WHOLE purpose of HR is to… protect the company from that exact shit.

People stopped caring years ago so I stopped. Wheter 99 or 100 people don't care doesn't make a difference no more tbf. If those above don't care those below have no reason to neither.
