I'm in Eastern Europe in a deeply corrupt and backwards country and yet they're installing 10 gb internet in my area. I've had 1Gbs internet for about 15 years at $10 a month.

I'm sad to see the US evolve backwards.

Romenian common experience?

Here on Brazil i was getting 1Gbs for around 22 usd, but due the gangs rising they cut all the cables and no one wants to install here... That on a city over 2 million people.

The gangs cut, or the companies cut?

The gangs.

It's a recurrent problem on Brazil that the international media is hiding due it accelerating in Lula's government, i lost my internet in May, my father who lives close, but more inside of the favela in September last year. That was a problem mostly located on Rio de Janeiro's Favelas, but since 2024 it spread like wildfire towards north of Brazil.

It's 8 euros a month exactly, so a bit less than ten dollars actually.

Try to check if Google Fiber is available in your area. Other than that it gets very wish washy like calling your representatives.

They actually uninstalled their shit over here.

And it doesn't matter, I'm in an apartment complex and they only allow anyone other than spectrum, which only allows broadband internet in the units.
