Can someone explain what this refers to. What is happening?

People were trying to get the EU to bring in legislation to stop online/multiplayer game developers from being able to shut down servers at will when they no longer want to host the games, i.e. when the games are no longer profitable enough for them (they would need to give players a certain amount of warning before doing so, if I remember the details correctly...)

Despite an official petition receiving over 1.3m signatures, the EU has responded that they are not able to bring in this sort of legislation.

Yet they failed to provide a good example of what "Playable" exactly ment, and they the movement had little to no support from technically minded people who understand these types of systems and game development.

This was DOA, and really trying to solve an issue that's isn't really a problem.

What the best example, The Crew? Seriously leading with a strong one there...

They want a law that incentivises players to stop paying so they can get it for free?
