Nizwa highway exit and entry are way too close, and it's scary ‼️

Can someone please tell the Oman government to rework the highway entry and exit road situation..

In Nizwa highway , the entry ramp and exit ramp are often right next to each other with a few distance between them. So while i m slowing down to take the exit, cars are merging in from the entry road at speed, and we are all fighting for the same stretch of lane. Its a mess.

I pass through this every single day, and honestly, I get nervous every time. One wrong move from either side and someone's getting hit.

Even a gap of around 250 meters between entry and exit points would make a huge difference.

I dont know if its the same in other cities..

Activities and Communities Anyone in Salalah?

24F, been in Oman for almost a month now and I’d really love to meet some girls around my age. I work and spend time with my family, but I don’t really know anyone my age here yet and it’s starting to feel a little lonely.

I’m into art, museums, history, movies & TV shows, cooking, nature, and trying new things. I’m also very low-maintenance when it comes to friendships — I don’t expect constant texting or anything intense. I’d genuinely be happy just meeting every couple of weeks for coffee, chess, a walk by the beach, or whatever we feel like doing.

I mostly just miss having the option to go out, meet people, and do something every now and then.

Girls only, please. I’m not interested in dating or meeting men, so please respect that and don’t DM me for that. 🤍

Has anyone here invested through crowdfunding platforms in Oman? I’d love to hear some honest reviews from people who’ve been investing for a while. How has your experience been with returns, repayments, and the overall process? Looking for real experiences, both good and bad, before I get started.

Discussion Omani folks, please mass report this X account for misinformation

I’m from Kuwait and have noticed this account spreading misinformation about Oman. Which is a normal thing in spaces like x. But my main issue, the thing that pisses me off the most is that they are capitalizing off of the hate they are stirring online and chaos they are spreading. I’m going to post this in each subreddit belonging to the GCC countries in hopes that this trash of an account gets taken down.

This account has been focusing on two GCC countries. Oman and the UAE.

It is very important we all take a firm and decisive stance against misinformation together.

What you can do:
1-Report for hate, abuse and harassment
2-mass request for community notes

Notice how the views to both of these posts are 6M EACH. This should not be left unanswered.

Here is the link to the X account

Ordered from Amazon UAE

i order from amazon often and for the first time i received an email telling me:

“We kindly request you to provide clear photos of both the front and back sides of your Oman ID.
The shipping agency requires these documents for customs clearance.
Thank you for your cooperation.”

It is a legitimate message from Amazon, but my question is how common is this? did this happen to anyone before? it’s my first time experiencing it.

Discussion The Smartest Student At grade 5

I went on Observation in one of the class in Rustaq and it was a normal English class However one of the Student was Answering ,participating .like the rest of the class but this very smart Student was on the wrong page even though the Teacher have written the page Number on the board .that is not something unusually in classroom but How he was managing to answers correctly Although he wasn't on the same page !! like psychic or something

this does prove that there are some who can Analyze in side there brain with Audio only .Just to clarify the Student level is not that High and it was a new concepts T was Explaining .the Audio contain two boys speaking about a new kid in school .

After that he started coping the answers from the board on the wrong page meaning he wasn't following At all How DID HE GOT The right Answers !!Specially the task required to look to the pic and describe it orally then Write it down .could it be pure luck ?maybe but what are the chances to describe a hole person without any mistake (the T-shirt color / the shorts color /hair/action )

Join us for the Season Opening Desert Night Drive!. Link in the post.

When the sun leaves the dunes, the real desert wakes up.

Drive into the Wahiba Sands after dark. Moonlit dunes, total silence, and a sky so full of stars the Milky Way feels close enough to touch. We climb the ridges, cross the soft bowls and drive the dunes by headlight, then we stop on a high dune, switch everything off, and let the desert speak.

  • Clear, light-free skies for stargazing and astro-photography
  • Made for headlight, star and dune footage

Laws and Regulations Muscat Housing Regulations for bachelors - How does it work? Will existing residents be evicted or fined?

I know this is a reiteration of an old rule that aims to protect privacy of families but I'd like to know exactly what would be the fate of large buildings which may house bachelors and families since I have reason to believe I might be part of a related situation

Firstly who exactly qualifies to be called a "bachelor"? Are married or divorced people who live away from their families here apply to the rule? Is the rule also neighborhood dependent?

If a building has an almost 50/50 ratio of family and non family folks, who will be evicted or be allowed to stay?

Air-conditioners dripping water, is it normal? and how often do you get it fixed usually? and what can i do to prevent this in the future?

We came from a colder country, so i didn't really need to use air-conditioners at all

i only had a fan for slightly hot days, so idk how to deal with air-conditioners especially in a country where you'd need it 24/7 i feel like i would die if i kept it off for 15 minutes, so i have it on all day

it started dripping water like 2 months ago, so we had people come and fix it, but now its back to dripping water again, way worse than before

and its not like i have it very low either, i keep it between 26°~28°

nowadays i don't push it under 28° but its still dripping water

so is this going to be like a usual situation while living in here or can i do something to prevent this in the future? i can't keep the space under the air-conditioner empty all the time "just incase" it started dripping again

are the air-conditioners used in my current place bad?

im just confused since i see air-conditioners everywhere in here on very cold settings too, almost all day long, so there's no way they deal with this often, no?

24M, recently moved from Dubai to Muscat and feeling lonely. What helped you build a life here?

Hey everyone,
I recently moved from Dubai to Muscat, and I’d really appreciate some practical advice from people who have been through something similar. If you moved to a new city or country alone in your 20s, how did you meet people, create a routine, and start feeling at home?
I’m 24 and had been working in Dubai for the past four years. Since moving to Muscat, I’ve been feeling surprisingly lonely and unmotivated. Nothing specific has gone wrong, and I know adjusting takes time, but I still miss the familiar people, places, and lifestyle I had in Dubai.
I’m single, and most days I find myself wondering how to build a social life from scratch. I’d love to hear what actually worked for others—not just general advice, but specific activities, groups, routines, or places that helped you connect with people.
● How did you make new friends?
● Are there any gym, sports, classes, or communities in Muscat you’d recommend?
● What helped you deal with loneliness while settling in?
● How long did it take before you started feeling comfortable in your new city?
I’m trying to stay positive and make the most of this new chapter, but I could really use some ideas and encouragement from people who understand what this feels like.
Thanks for reading, and I’d be grateful for any advice or personal experiences.

Post image
4 Upvotes

I went to istyle avanues mall oman to get my ipad air m1 fixed. I have a warranty for it. He inspected it and saw a very very tiny bent like its less than 0.5 cm. And said because of this reason i dont qualify for a replacement, like what??? A person pays for apple care and gets denied for something so insignificant????.

Look at the photo and tell me if you even see the dent properly.

13.5 hour overnight layover in Muscat

Hi everyone!

I'm considering booking a flight with a 13.5-hour overnight layover in Muscat.

I'd arrive at around 12:30 AM, and my connecting flight would depart at around 2 PM.

My plan is to sleep at the airport for a few hours instead of booking a hotel, then leave at around 7 AM to explore Muscat before returning to the airport by approximately 11 AM.

I know I'll probably be exhausted after a long flight, but I don't mind sacrificing some sleep if it means getting to experience a country I've never visited before.

I'd especially love to see the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, and maybe Mutrah Corniche or Mutrah Souq if there's enough time.

I have a few questions:

  1. Is it possible to sleep at Muscat Airport overnight? Are there any quiet or comfortable areas?
  2. Can I stay in the international transit area overnight and then go through immigration to explore the city in the morning?
  3. Is leaving around 7 AM and returning by 11 AM realistic?
  4. What's the cheapest and easiest way to get around for a short visit?
  5. Has anyone done something similar? Would you recommend it?

I'd really appreciate any advice or experiences. Thanks!
