Big talk, that pigeons never made a mistackle once in his life, never gave up a big return while hes been on the field, the GOAT. might as well be pretending you'd be able to keep tom brady from completing any passes a whole game.

Pidgeon was the reincarnation of Raiders special teams player Marquis Cooper who passed away in a boating accident earlier in the year. Pidgeon lined up in Cooper's spot and played one last down with his teammates.

Glad you know about this. Was hoping someone here would. Some of the players have talked about this happening and how they felt like he was there with them, for one last ride.

I didn't know this and it's 100% what I believe. We should all be so lucky to get to say goodbye as a pigeon.

Didn’t they run that kickoff with only 10 players as a tribute to him too? And then the pigeon showed up in his slot.

You might be thinking of what Washington did after Sean Taylor's murder

Yeah, I remember that one too. I thought they were doing something similar but there are definitely 11 guys out there.

Pigeon was honestly pretty good for like a 6 year stretch there. They weren't ever really talked about a lot, but that's kinda what you want out of their position. If theyre being called on a lot, theyre messing up.
Shame how his career played out after the incident. Damn shame.

Lane discipline is key.
Love when the commentators buy in. Makes it 10x funnier.

I was at this game. Some people get to say they saw epic comebacks, upsets, historic QB duels, record breaking performances.
I got to see pigeons run the kickoff at the Coliseum in ‘09.

That pigeon stayed in his lane better than a lot of the guys I've played with

Dick Stockton was an awesome commentator. Don't think he was ever on Fox's A-team but he was a mainstay for sure.

Absolute favorite genre of video, wild animal on the field, commentary team knows to treat them like any other player.
