Our goal is to train the dogs so they can help blind and visually impaired people navigate the capital safely, including on public transport. After graduating from the school, the guide dogs are matched with their owners.

As a reminder, for safety reasons, all pets must be carried in pet carriers. Guide dogs are the only exception, provided their owners carry documentation confirming the animal's specialized training. You can review the full rules for transporting animals in the metro here.

Here's the update

I'm in my proper dorm now which is outside Moscow and uni is in the city so it's like 2 hrs going and 2 hrs coming every day 💀

Most of my time went into sorting documents and AGAIN a sweet lady saved me 😭 she works at the document center and teaches English and Italian in her free time so she guided me through everything ( ik it's her job but she did more then she needed to and I'm very greatfull )

When I needed internet she gave me her hotspot and for the documents you need a Russian number and I don't have friends here yet so she gave her own number XD I'm getting her chocolates once I'm free just pure gratitude

The commute is kinda interesting tbh headphones on staring out the bus window it feels fun but lonely in a way

On the way there's this little village by the river a bit after Gorki village with houses up on a small hill and people fishing and today some were even grilling so pretty I'm 100% exploring it once documents are done even if I don't speak Russian lol I'm learning but it will be fun I'm sure haha 😝

Today I went to an open market and there was a babushka handing out pamphlets and nobody was taking them so I felt bad and took one and asked about her day

She was preaching Christianity and I swear I saw a spark in her eyes explaining the whole thing

I'm kinda atheist? Nah I believe in higher power but religion? Nah nah anyways,

I listened to all of it so she felt heard and we talked with a translator and said a warm goodbye 🫶

My Russian is slowly improving btw I can atleast figure out the topic when ppl talk at the bank or document offices loll

Also can we talk about the fashion here?? People in Moscow dress SO well and they actually express themselves like goth fits piercings all kinds of styles and nobody cares everyone just does their thing I love it

And the DOGS 😭 people here love their dogs so much I see dogs in malls on the metro everywhere they just take their kids (dogs) with them wherever they go it's the cutest thing ever 🐶

And I finally saw the city center at night 🥹 Red Square the colors the architecture everything it felt like a different world fr pics below

Still lonely sometimes but I'm making friends in my hostel and talking to random ppl and this city keeps showing me people are kinder than you think

Hi Everyone
My husband and I are travelling to Moscow in December, and we’re trying to plan our daily budget.

Since Russia is under sanctions and international cards issued in India may not work reliably, we’re trying to understand how much cash in Russian rubles we should carry for our trip.

For two people, 10’days, one vegetarian and one non vegetarian , roughly how much cash would you recommend budgeting per day for food and local transportation in Moscow and Murmansk? We’re planning to eat at reasonably priced cafés and restaurants and mostly use public transport, with occasional taxis.

A rough daily estimate in rubles for both of us would be really helpful. Thank you!
