I have a new baby(7 months) and I don’t get a lot if time to play, when I do I stick in quick play because I never know when I’m going to need to stop.

Every match feels the same though. Enemy team feels like try hards and my team feels like they are just learning to play the game.

There’s nothing wrong with strategists primarily healing, but they should still do more than just keep their team alive to enable their time, but they lack any real utility to do anything more. The little bit of utility they have to enable their team to get kills is just overshadowed by duelists and vanguards own utility.

Invis pull is used to pull enemies in to put them in riskier spots, but then we have Bucky hook, which pulls them all the way in your team. We got Mantis Damage boost, but then we have Storm damage boosting all 6 teammates. We have Gambit 25% anti-heal on 14 seconds worth of cards, but then we have Phoenix 40% anti-heal on a 10 second cooldown.

All of strategists non-healing/defensive utility is just outshined but that of the DPS role primarily

After seeing loads of negative posts about the state of this game lately, I completely understand the frustration. Is Rivals dying? No. Is it in a good state right now? Also no.

Between the declining player count, the first mid-season without a new hero, questionable balance changes, and the devs announcing that they’re prioritizing LTMs over new heroes , I get why people are losing their enthusiasm. I also think the devs might be overworked and have a lot on their plate right now, especially with Disney involved, but that doesn’t mean we should ignore the game’s problems.

Personally, I’m not enjoying Rivals much right now either. And this is coming from someone who has Jean as their most-played DPS. I could go on and on about the current state of the game, but hundreds of other posts have already covered those issues.

My point is, it’s okay to love this game, want it to improve, and still take a break from it.
I’ve stopped playing ranked, rarely touch QP, and mostly play 18v18 these days because, honestly, that mode is really fun. I’ve also installed other games and started spending more of my time playing them. I’m still passionate about Rivals, and I’ll absolutely play it more when things improve, but I’m not going to force myself to play something I’m not enjoying just because I love it.

So, if you’re not having a good time right now, take a break. Play something else, explore other games, and come back when you feel like it. There’s no point turning a hobby into another source of frustration. Prioritize your mental health and remember that you don’t owe any game your time.

And just to be clear, this isn’t me saying people should stop criticizing the game or blindly accept bad decisions. Constructive criticism is absolutely valid, and the devs should be held accountable for the direction they’re taking. Wanting a game to succeed sometimes means being vocal when things aren’t going well.(just in a civil and respectful way)

I just don’t think you need to keep playing a game you’re currently unhappy with to prove that you care about it. You can criticize it, take a break, and still hope it gets better.

Hopefully, Rivals gets back on track soon. I genuinely want to see this game succeed.
