Science/ Technology PSA: The haze is damaging your vehicle.

Post image
686 Upvotes

Be aware that the current haze that we've had for the last month is out of spec for your car's air intake and will require more regular maintenance.

You might have already noticed more vehicles breaking down next to the road at this point. One of the common causes, especially with the higher performance vehicles, is that the mass airflow sensors are getting covered in particulate buildup. This causes the sensor to set off a sensor error, sending your car into limp mode.

Im hoping that lot of people will have the same sentiments as me. Listen, im not against Ai technology whatsoever but using Ai pics for commercial purposes makes me sick to my stomach. Is this the message we want to give to our aspiring Artists out there?

The gov should start putting regulations into place on how to make sure that the end product of any Commercialise Visual Products to be from real artists.

Im just a humble citizen and i myself dont have the answer on how the legislation should look like but what i do know is the use of Ai like this is WRONG. Im happy to hear all of yall’s opinion on this

Science/ Technology Why is fiber internet more expensive in Malaysia than Singapore?

I was curious and now got some prices after searching them up. Unless I'm mistaken, average Malaysian incomes are lower than a typical Singaporean earns. Yet, in Singapore, they can apparently get 10Gbps fiber for S$34/month. Time is advertising asymmetrical gigabit for RM199/month, while Unifi wants RM249/month. That's a huge difference! Why is fiber internet so much more expensive and slower in Malaysia than in Singapore? Is the average Malaysian signing up for this?

Science/ Technology PSA: Dont buy from a Shopee seller without a physical store or known chain if possible

I was in the midst of changing all aging drives of the computers in my office - at first I did not suspect the drives as they came sealed and brand new but the first drive didnt work properly, so I opened another one (I bought 5 in total). The second one was the same hence I was starting to suspect foulplay on the SSDs purchased.

I initially went through the trouble of benchmarking them and testing them using software (which furthered my suspicions) but in hindsight I shouldve just saved all my trouble by opening them up physically since the start.

Its honestly funny the moment I open them up - granted genuine samsung SSDs are also smallish inside but not that small, (the pcb shape is also wrong) plus the chips inside do not have branding on them (which proud ol Samsung will not do).

Confronted shopee seller and got a bot response even though i am pretty sure they read my message.

If I bought from a reputable chain - even if they shipped something fake im sure they will own up the responsibility.

This shopee scammer has 1000+ sales on the same product by the way.

Tl'dr: buy from verified physically present stores if possible

Four years ago, Chinese cars were a rounding error on Malaysian roads. In 2022, brands from China accounted for just 578 of the 744,762 vehicles registered here, or 0.08% of the market. Last year they registered 66,198 units. JPJ registration data lays out just how quickly it happened.

Science/ Technology RFID users, why do you still use RFID?

Im a TnG user who takes the toll during the workweek and 3 out of my 5 working days, I always see a car that doesn’t manage to go through and has to reverse.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be able to survive the anxiety of that potential scenario of having to signal to every other car behind u to reverse during rush hour.
