Hi all sorry not sure if allowed but I'm visiting Lisbon and happened to walk by in Largo do Chiado and heard this buy singing. I know he's not singing in Portuguese so I'm not sure if locals appreciate it, but he was so good! I just felt like I should share his music and tag him if I could find him

Anyone know who this guy is? He mentioned being on IG but we had to go and I didn't catch it unfortunately.

Ask r/Lisbon It’s possible find a cheap T0/T1 in Lisbon ?

Hi everyone

In the next year, my contract will be terminated 😓

So we have a question, today I pay 700€ per month for my T0, and when I see the Idealista, Imovirtual, OLX or others apps, definitely I don’t see T0 or T1 with this price in Lisbon

How can I find an apartment with this price ? Could you give me same tips ?

Ask r/Lisbon How to get into the creative industry?

How to get into the creative industry? Hi, I’m 26 and currently living in Lisbon. I just finished a master’s in communication / media and entertainment.

I have worked in marketing for 9-5 office companies, but honestly, it is not for me. I don't want to dedicate myself to doing 30 reels a day...

I have experience as a producer and creating / planning content. But I have no idea how to get into the creative industry here.

Classic platforms to get jobs (LinkedIn, Glassdoor) are not working at all. So, I’m kind of lost. Any advice or recommendation is well received.

Ask r/Lisbon Relaxed culture centre/café

Hi! We’ve been in Lisbon for over a week and are leaving tomorrow. We have about three hours between checking out and our train, and we’re looking for somewhere quiet to spend that time relaxing, having coffee, reading.

In Porto, we found Batalha Centro de Cinema, which was perfect for this kind of situation. Is there anywhere similar in Lisbon, ideally with easy access to Oriente station? We also really enjoyed having coffee at Galveias Palace Library and in the garden belonging to the museum of Amalia Rodrigues.

Thanks for any recommendations! 😊

Maybe it’s just me, but when I do triathlons or marathons, whatever they may be I also do it as a form tourism. I made this video as a way for people doing the Lisbon, Cascais Half Ironman do you know what they’re passing along the way because you’re passing so many beautiful landmarks and this is one of the most beautiful stretches of Portugal. I hope this isn’t advertisement but I put a lot of effort into this video and I hope you guys enjoy it thanks.

Photo Lisbon's metro stations are beautiful — has anyone made a photo collection of them?

Hello! I'm visiting Lisbon for a short while, and I've been fascinated by how beautiful and unique the metro stations are. It got me wondering: has anyone ever put together a collection of artistic photographs of all the stations, capturing the particular beauty and character of each one? I'd love to see it if something like this exists!

Ask r/Lisbon Marathon impacts this weekend

Hi everyone, visiting Lisbon for the first time the past few days and I’ve been loving it so far! I was planning to go to Belém/the monastery this saturday (even have my ticket) and do a day trip to cascais Sunday but just found out about the big marathon this weekend. Just wondering how much of an impact this will have on the metro/tram systems and traffic overall since I imagine there’d be a lot of road closures, delays, etc. Any advice or tips would be helpful!

Ask r/Lisbon Lisbon - what to do alone

I’m going on a girls’ trip for a week, and we’ll be spending some time together. But I’m leaving later than everyone else. My flight isn’t until 10:55 PM, while the others are flying out around 1 or 3 PM.
So I’m thinking about planning something for my last day instead of just wasting time waiting for my flight.
I found a day tour to Fátima, Batalha, and Nazaré that takes about 9 hours. Do you think it’s worth it?

Ask r/Lisbon Where to park my car for 5/6 days a week?

Hey everyone!

I'm moving to Lisbon, but I won't be able to get a resident parking permit (I can't change my official address for now).

Does anyone know of a free spot to park my car?

I'll only be using it on weekends, so I need a safe place to leave it for 5 to 6 days a week.

Any location with easy access to the subway/train (I'll be living in Areeiro) works for me.

Thanks!

Ask r/Lisbon if I want to understand Portuguese cuisine better, which dish should I try?

The serious question is, if I want to understand Portuguese cuisine better, which dish should I try?

Please suggest a cafe or restaurant, the best, in your opinion, is by no means a tourist destination or dish.

Ask r/Lisbon Recommendations for a birthday weekend

Hi everyone! My partner and I are traveling to Lisbon for his 30th birthday in November. I would like to reserve a really excellent birthday dinner, as well as plan some activities around the city. We both love good food, vintage shopping, music, great bars, and spas/wellness. I would love some recommendations for restaurants, late night spots (such as listening lounges), and other can’t miss activities that would make a birthday weekend special :)
Thanks in advance.

Ask r/Lisbon People to play tennis with in Lisbon

Hello! I am a somewhat of an intermediate player (was a registered athlete when I was a teen, but then stopped playing for a few years), and I'm trying to play tennis again. Unfortunately, I can't afford having classes again, and don't know anyone who plays (or wants to play) around Lisbon.

If anyone wants to play or knows a way of meeting people who want to, please let me know.

Thank you!

Ask r/Lisbon String bean dish

I’m wondering if anybody knows of a Portuguese string bean dish which is tomato based with potatoes obviously string beans and Charisse what it’s called. I grew up with my mother making it and I don’t have the recipe or know what it’s even called. I just have a ton of string beans from my garden and would like to make that Portuguese dish.

Ask r/Lisbon Any Puerto Ricans/Boriquas living in Lisbon?

Moved my family to Lisbon from NY/NJ a year ago and would love to connect with other Puerto Ricans living in the Lisbon area—whether for coffee, food, cultural events, or potentially getting a small Boricua community together. If you're Puerto Rican and living in Portugal—or know someone who is—let me know!

Discussion Moving to Lisbon from Belgium – jobs, housing & quality of life?

Hi everyone,

I’m 25 and currently living and working in Belgium. I have a Bachelor’s and an Advanced Bachelor’s in Business Management/Marketing, around three years of experience in event management, and I’ve been working for about a year in a marketing position at MediaMarkt Benelux, mainly working with suppliers and brands.

I’m seriously considering moving to Lisbon or the surrounding area in around two years. I’ve visited Portugal several times and really like the country and lifestyle. At the same time, I’m aware of the problems with salaries, housing, etc., so I’m trying not to look at it only from a tourist’s perspective. I’ve become quite disappointed with life in Belgium and I’m starting to question whether I want to stay here long term.

By the time I move, I should have around three years of retail/marketing experience, plus my event experience. What kind of salary could someone with this profile realistically expect in Lisbon? I’m not expecting Belgian salaries, but what would you consider a good salary for a comfortable life?

I’m also curious about housing. I know there’s a housing crisis, but I don’t necessarily want to live in central Lisbon. I’d be happy somewhere outside the centre that is safe, pleasant and well connected. Which areas would you recommend, and what should I realistically expect to pay?

I’m also planning to buy a property in Belgium soon, which I would probably keep if I moved, so I may have some additional rental income.

Finally, I’d love to hear about the overall quality of life: healthcare, safety, public transport, and family life. If I eventually move with a partner and have children, how are the schools and international schools around Lisbon?

Basically, I’m trying to understand whether Lisbon is a place where I could realistically build a long-term life, not just enjoy as a tourist.
I’d really appreciate any experiences positive or negative especially from people who moved there from another European country. Thanks!
