The Secure Boot requirement basically kills this.

Yeah it's impossible with Nvidia drivers

May I ask why? Idk if lucky or haven’t been punished but I run secure boot on NixOS with Nvidia GPU, both in desktop and laptop, and have faced no issues in the months I have been using it. Is there something I am not aware of? Please do tell.

Couldn't get Nvidia working on fedora without secure boot off

Hopefully those kind of issues get solved. Regardless this would be a good motivator for that kind of change. I find this as a generally good solution. Nobody likes kernel AC, but this is a middle ground most people should be willing to take.

If you don’t play games of the sort, nothing changes. If you want to play them, now you have a choice. Better A choice than NO choice

Strange, that's supposed to work.

It's possible but it's up to the distro. Ubuntu and Opensuse both ship and sign the Nvidia driver kernel module. Fedora doesn'tz St least not yet.

Not necessarily, they actually mentioned Nvidia drivers in the article. Plus, Valve announced Nvidia's support was coming to SteamOS. They clearly mean the Nova drivers, which will avoid this whole problem.
