Looking for a job that can accommodate to my health.

Recently I quit my job at a bar/restaurant. I was a dishwasher for 2 weeks. I have POTS and chronic migraines and fatigue. I unfortunately couldn’t physically keep up with my job and I think it’s time for me to get something either remote or office related. I’m just struggling to find one because all of my experience is in the food industry. I do have great customer service as told other employees and customers. Can someone send me to a general location that would be good for me? I’m not too worried on where the location is. Thanks in advance for anyone willing to help.

Ok so how do I become a bartender with no experience? Especially barback?

It’s even hard getting barback positions and barbacks are supposed to be entry level/beginner friendly. I would love to contract with events and make drinks for people. It’s always been an industry I want to dive into.

Pay mandatory?

Shouldn't this sub require that people posting "for hire" ads state the salary/hourly rates? Like... why not?

How can I break into IT with 4 years of hands-on systems experience but no formal IT title?

Hey everyone! I’m looking for advice on how to break into the IT field and which positions I should be targeting based on my background.

My professional experience is primarily in school administration, but I worked at a relatively new school where I ended up taking on a variety of technical responsibilities. Over time, I became the primary person handling day-to-day support and administration for our student information system (PowerSchool) and point-of-sale system (MealTime).

My experience includes managing user accounts and access, troubleshooting system issues, assisting staff and families with technical problems, maintaining data accuracy, running reports and exports, and managing student information and attendance data. I also worked with an external technical consultant when issues required more advanced support.

While I haven’t held a formal IT job title, I gained a lot of hands-on experience managing these systems and supporting the people who relied on them. I’m comfortable learning new software, troubleshooting problems, and figuring things out independently.

I’m interested in transitioning into IT, but I’m unsure which direction would make the most sense. I’ve considered help desk, technical support, application support, and system administration, but I’d appreciate some honest advice on where my experience would be most valuable. I also have a BA in psychology.

For those already working in IT: • What entry-level positions would you recommend I apply for? • Would my experience with PowerSchool, MealTime, user accounts, and troubleshooting be enough to help me land a technical support role? • Are there certifications worth pursuing, such as CompTIA A+, or would hands-on experience be more valuable at this stage? • Is there a realistic path toward application administration or systems administration without starting completely from scratch?

I’m hoping to find a career path with room for growth and better long-term earning potential. I’d appreciate any advice, personal experiences, or recommendations on where to start. Thanks!

Hiring: Part-Time Social Media Coordinator for Small Art Gallery in Silver Lake

Hey everyone, I run a small contemporary art gallery in Silver Lake and we're looking for someone to help manage our social media presence. Right now it's just me handling everything and honestly I'm not great at keeping up with Instagram and TikTok trends.

The role would be around 15-20 hours a week, mostly remote but you'd need to come in maybe twice a month for openings and events to capture content. We're looking for someone who actually gets the LA art scene and can create engaging posts that don't feel too corporate or stiff.

Pay is $25/hour to start. You'd be handling Instagram, TikTok, and occasionally our website blog. We have about 3k followers right now but growth has been pretty flat for the past year. Ideally you have some experience with Canva or similar tools and know how to edit short videos on your phone.

If you're interested, send me a DM with a link to any social accounts you've managed or your own profile if it shows your style. No need for a formal resume, just want to see what kind of content you create and if it vibes with what we do here.

Location is near Sunset Junction. Flexible schedule but we'd need someone who can start within the next few weeks. Let me know if you have questions.

Where are the 50/60+ hour work week jobs?

I’m tired of working regular 40 hour work weeks and having to beg my manager for overtime. I feel like a part timer. I’m 31 years old without kids so I have loads of free time. All I do is go to the gym and work. I just graduated with a BA in accounting but haven’t been able to find anything. I’m at a point now where I’d be interested in working in any field. I’m open to blue collar work as well. Anyone know of anything in the LA/Long Beach/ Orange County area?

open to all types of industry suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Los Angeles — Desperate for a Job. I’m Behind on Rent and My Baby Is Due in 3 Weeks. I’ll Take Any Opportunity.

Hey everyone, I’m honestly going through a really difficult time right now. I’ve been applying for jobs for 3 weeks and still haven’t gotten any offers.
I’m behind on rent and already received a 3-day notice. My baby is due in about 3 weeks, and I’m scared because I want to get back on my feet and be ready for my baby.
At this point, I’m willing to do almost any kind of honest work. Warehouse, restaurants, cleaning, general labor, caregiving, or anything hiring ASAP. I’m not being picky anymore. I just really need an opportunity to work.
My phone SIM is locked right now, so I can’t receive calls, but I can respond to messages or email.
I’m not expecting anyone to solve my problems for me. I’m just hoping someone might know a place that’s hiring immediately or can point me in the right direction. I’m trying my best, but things are getting overwhelming, and I genuinely don’t know what else to do.
If anyone knows of any opportunities or resources in LA, I’d really appreciate it. Thank you for taking the time to read this. 🙏
