Fire OS 7.3.2.4+ Ya no me funciona Aurora Store

Question Fire 11 Max - is there a way to drag/move books so they are next to each other how I want?

I'm currently using Moonreader app which is ok except for the ads an I'm trying to figure out the best way to organize them so they are in order . I downloaded Calibre on my laptop but haven't messed with it yet to try to organize the Metadata.

If I want a bunch of books in a series next to each other on a row on my "shelf" what's the easiest way to do this ?

Fire Kids Tablets Reminder to cancel your kids+ subscription after a year

Reminder to cancel your kids+ subscription after a year if you don't use it. I don't recall any information about this when setting up the tablet, and just realized that I spent a year paying for an unused subscription on a device that has probably been used less than 5 times (just trips). Extra tough to detect as someone who is frequently ordering from amazon so a few extra dollars a mont there goes unnoticed. They did refund 3 months of payments, which is better than nothing, but I still spent as much on this fucking recurring payment as I did on the actual tablet

Fire Kids Tablets Best ways to use a Fire Kids tablet without the Kids+ subscription?

Hi all — we have an Amazon Fire Kids tablet for my 6-year-old and I'm wondering how much we can actually do without paying for Kids+. What are the best free apps, settings, or workarounds you've found? Sideloading apps, free educational content, using it as a regular Fire tablet with parental controls? Any tips appreciated!

Photos/Files Created a doc in the Files app, didn't save - is it gone forever?

I had my kindle fire with me during a phone meeting today and discovered there's a "Files" app that has a way to create a "doc." Google doesn't believe this exists so when I Google it I get nothing 😅

Anyway, I took some notes during this meeting using the doc in the Files app... and now the doc seems to be gone. I am guessing it doesn't auto save, but thought some of y'all might have ideas in case there's a way to find it. Any insights?

Thank you!

Fire Kids Tablets YouTube Kids Issues

I just got my boys Kids Fire Tablets. I went on the parent side, added “YouTube kids.com” as an approved site. I cannot find anywhere to add silk browser for them. Go back to the kids profile, YouTube Kids is there on websites. However, it wants a parent login. I’ve done this multiple times and after all the verifications it stays blank. If I try to skip it (which you still need to click a bunch of stuff, do birthday year, etc.) it goes to YouTube kids. But then if he closes out and goes back in it wants me to do it all over again. How can I make this so he can just go to YouTube kids?

Question Captcha Score Too Low?

Edit: *ReCAPTCHA.

I have the Google Play Store sideloaded on my week old HD 8, so I could add the Tennis Channel app (Amazon app store doesn't offer it). When I try to log into the Tennis Channel app, I get a message saying my captcha score is too low.

The Tennis Channel app works fine on my year old HD 10, along with an old HD 8 I've had for years. Any idea of a fix for this?🤔

Question Anyone know why our tablet says WiFi disabled?

This situation has become a difficult issue for my family. We use Amazon Fire tablets—likely from around 2021—and each one shares the same problem: they drop Wi-Fi and will not reconnect. We have tried restarting the router and devices, resetting Wi-Fi settings, and toggling airplane mode, yet nothing resolves it. Sometimes the connection returns after a few hours. Other devices such as PCs, iPhones, and iPads function normally without trouble.

Does anyone know this as a bug or software glitch? If so, how do you manage to fix it? Thank you for your help.

Question Stuck on updating screen

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hello! I've had this Fire since I would say about 2016 and It's use was a long run, up until recently I haven't used it in a while and decided to check it out. Appstore wasn't working so I decided to look at previous posts in here to see what I can do to fix that. I tried updating it but it has been stuck on this specific screen for hours now. This is an HD 6 Gen 4, am I recomnended to try and shut it off? Because it does look like the best method right now. BUT I would prefer an answer from more experienced peeps. Thanx 4 reading (Excuse my phone quality)

Question Fire Max 11 - which folder should I use to transfer books from Android phone ?

So I've been downloading books from various free places on my phone and using a USB cable to transfer them to my Fire.

I'm currently using the Moonreader app .

But I see that I have files in the DOCUMENTS folder and also in the KFSNWI folder under Books.

I'm wondering which is the best place to move them all to, to organize them in one place and what's the difference?

I see under the KFSNWI there's a KINDLE folder but there's nothing in it .

Even when the books are all spread out they all show up in the Moonreader app even though it's only pointing to the SD card/books Folder . (I don't have a SD card in this device so I'm not sure why it says that as the main folder)

Anyone use this Moonreader app give me some info? It's pretty good since a lot of my books are different file formats that I can't use with the Send to Kindle feature. I never use the Kindle app because of this anyways

Question Fire Tablet 7 slow after factory reset

I just got a hand-me-down Fire Tablet 7 12th gen that is 2 years old (mayybe 3) and was well taken care of. It was factory reset so that I could use it.

I cannot believe how slow and laggy it is. Whenever I open the browser I get a pop-up that says my device is out of date and it has to delete features, the features it deletes are the ones that make the website functional.. (2 years is out of date?) Opening any app takes forever. Tapping on-screen buttons takes ages to register.

I am using 2.19 g out of 10.68 g of storage. OS 8.3.3.1 and it says there are no new updates. Data usage I'm having a bit of trouble understanding but the chart says 100% today when I've used it for maybe 30 min. And the most usage is Amazon special offers. Is the device bricking itself with its own ads?

Default advice is to factory reset but since I did that already I'm wondering if this thing is just trash?

Other Need help identifying the type of Amazon Fire Tablet this is

Not sure if this is the correct flair to use so please let me know

I’ve had this tablet since around 3rd Grade, it was moved to storage when I was in middle school. Recently I found it and it’s stuck in a reboot loop

I’m looking into ways of fixing it WITHOUT factory resetting as it has a BUNCH of old art, animations, ect

One of the ways I looked into was maybe replacing the battery! Problem is, I don’t know WHAT type of fire tablet this is and neither does my aunts or dad

Any help in identifying this would be of great help here’s some details if it helps

- it was around 2017-2018 when I revived it
- I remember it may have been a kindle edition as it had a the kindle library on it
- you couldn’t get YouTube itself as a app(not sure if that’s common I just remember it) along with a bunch more
- the Jacks, plug, power and volume buttons are on the top(where the little white dot is)

Apps My first Fire tablet game is live — I’d love some honest feedback

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hi everyone! I’m a new indie developer, and I recently released my first game for Amazon Fire tablets: Train Tangle.

It’s a puzzle game where you build the tracks while the trains are already moving. Your job is to get them all safely to their destinations, which gets trickier when several trains need to share crossings!

Want to see how it plays? Here’s a 30-second gameplay video! This is Level 80, so it’s an advanced challenge—the early levels start much simpler and give you time to learn the mechanics before things get this busy.

https://youtu.be/MqGcazHl0bU

I’d love for some fellow Fire tablet users to try it and tell me what they honestly think. Are the controls comfortable? Do the instructions make sense? Is it fun, or does something feel frustrating? I’d appreciate hearing what works and what doesn’t.

The first 14 levels are free, with no ads. If you enjoy it, a single purchase unlocks all 100 levels and the level editor. No subscription, and you can play offline.

Amazon Appstore: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0HJ1DW4QK

Also, if you’d prefer to try it on PC, Train Tangle is available for Windows and Linux on itch.io, with the same 14 free levels:
https://fredyn.itch.io/train-tangle

Both versions support English, Spanish, and French. Thanks to everyone taking a look—I’d love to hear what you think!

If you give it a try, please mention which Fire tablet you’re using—it would help me understand how it feels on different devices.

Thanks for taking a look. This is my first release, and I have a lot to learn!

Fire OS 7.3.2.4+ Trying to duplicate the broken Show Mode

For years we've kept our 2021 Fire HD8 tablet normally running in always-on Show Mode in the kitchen - until Amazon broke it last week. I know they deleted the Show Mode feature from the most recent models, but it was still there and very useful on older models. There are other threads trying to figure out what went wrong, but I am assuming that Amazon won't fix it, so I have been trying to duplicate Show Mode by other means as best I can.

Fortunately the Alexa hands-free function still works, so the tablet still accepts verbal Alexa commands.

A useful feature of Show Mode was that it turned on the screen when the camera detects motion in the room. The Yakk app works on FireOS to duplicate that function.

Show Mode the way we had it configured offered a rotating display of current weather, headline news, and our photos from Amazon photos. I figured I could find a separate app for each of those, and use Tasker to rotate between them every 2 minutes. The rotation was easy, but the finding suitable apps was harder than I anticipated.

It was easy enough to find a suitable weather app - there are lots, some without obtrusive ads. An integrated News and Weather app might have been nice, but I couldn't find anything suitable.

For the photo slide show I was looking for something that would display a continuous full-screen slide show with adjustable timing and transitions, no ads, and preferably with online access to Amazon photos or Google Photos. Two out of three was the best I could do: SlideShow Digital Signage does the job, but only from local photo storage. But it does allow remote management of the photo directory on the tablet via FTP or web browser. Every other alternative I tried adds extraneous stuff like menus and ads to the screen.

The News app was the most problematic. Ideally I wanted a app that would display a single story at a time full screen, with a photo and a nice big readable title, no ads, and update to a new story every few minutes. Preferably with a selectable mix of local and world headline news. Unfortunately that doesn't seem to exist. A majority of the news apps are portrait-mode-only, and will not rotate to landscape mode on the tablet. News apps generally do not update their display automatically - they assume you will refresh manually when you are ready. I could probably force the refresh with some Tasker tricks, but it would be an extra issue. And most have a bunch of extra stuff on the screen like menus and ads, and they restore it with every refresh if you zoom in to one story. After testing a dozen News apps, I was forced to conclude that I would have to use a web browser and build a custom page with RSS feeds. Fortunately I found an existing implementation that was close enough to that: Inoreader. You can create your own custom News feed page on their web site, select the sources, and select page format options that get it close to what I wanted. And you can set it to update the feeds automatically every 5 minutes. If I display that web page in the Silk browser. on the Fire tablet, and zoom in a bit to fill the screen with just the top 2 stories side-by-side, the Silk browser will hold that zoom position while the browser window moves to and from the foreground and through the page updating. It's a bit slow to display though.

So now I have the Fire tablet set up in a sort of pseudo Show Mode where it turns on the screen when it detects motion, and shows a display that rotates every 2 minutes between local weather, custom news feed, and our photo slide show.

Question How to jailbreak Fire HD7 (2nd gen)??

Or at least get APKs on it?? Or even root it?

A few days ago, I impulsively an old Kindle in a charity shop for £10 so I could mod it. I’ve determined it’s a Fire HD7 2nd gen, system version 7.4.9 after resetting.

However I’m having an absolutely terrible time with jailbreaking it in any way.

I’ve researched and attempted the following (with a Windows VM on my Mac):

• Fire Toolbox seemed to be the number one option, but it gave an error message saying it’s too old/incompatible.
• Kindle Fire Utility seems to only work for 1st gen and could risk bricking my one.
• I’m unable to get APKs on it. At all. I have tried everything. Silk Browser is rubbish/too old and won’t load most webpages properly. I can browse APKMirror but downloads never properly start. Google Drive is barely responsive, and Gmail attachments/Drive links don’t load.
• Side loading via cable doesn’t work either, as the files don’t appear on the kindle itself and there doesn’t appear to be a proper browsable file directory on it.
• As a last ditch attempt I tried Bluetoothing APKs to it from my computer but it always fails.

Is there anything I can do I haven’t tried, or is this model a lost cause?

I don’t have any prior experience with Kindles of any kind, so I’m very much a noob with this! The most jailbreaking experience I have is with a 3DS 😬
