I’m wondering how far into a buyback request anybody had gotten with severe liability issues? I have a 2025 Civic hatchback sport.
Long story short, my PCM and wiring harness were replaced due to a misfire in cylinder four at 6700 miles. I was left stranded with my kid and had to wait four hours on a tow truck. Warranty covered it.
At 12,000 miles I had to have the left strut replaced because it was popping. The dealer told me that it was safe to drive on and they didn’t have a loaner so my only option was to drive on a broken for two weeks. Then at 15,000 miles the right strut went out they replaced it and the dealer called me and said that it was still making a metal grinding noise so they had it an extra day to diagnose it when they found out that there was an extra nut left on the swaybar link from the factory. Somewhere between 8000 miles and the 15,000 I had told them that I was having an RPM surge at low speeds and then quoted the service bulletin 26-083. In which they told me to take it home and if it got worse or it threw a code to bring it back. I opened a case for a voluntary Goodwill buyback right after that.
The car isn’t quite at lemon law status for my state, but corporate has bounced me between them and Honda financial approximately 12 times. At this point, I don’t know what to do. Does anybody have advice on how to get them to take this seriously? Since this is clearly a safety liability issue for them and me.
