MAG/WAG 2026 Artistic Worlds Coverage and Streaming Hub

I've seen quite a few questions these last few days in multiple threads about coverage for the Artistic World Championships in Rotterdam, so I decided to gather all the info in this post. See the pinned post for the full competition schedule.

Qualifications

Qualifications will be streamed for FREE by Eurovision Sport. You should have access to this worldwide. See all the sessions here.

There will be a feed with commentary in either French or Spanish + one camera per apparatus, without commentary. That's why you see 7 different streams for the same session of men's qualification, for example. Fwiw, Charlotte Laroche from Spotgym did the French commentary last year and it was great. I remember even non-French speakers enjoying it. The Spanish commentary was good too iirc.

Finals

Finals will also be streamed on Eurovision Sport, with commentary in French and English. That being said, your local tv provider may have bought the rights to stream finals. In that case, the Eurovision Sport stream will be geo-blocked. You may be able to access it with a VPN. Replays are usually not geo-blocked on Eurovision Sport.

Below is a summary table of local tv providers streaming finals for different countries. I have added the info I could find in the sub so far (thanks to all the contributers). If you don't see your country and you know who's streaming, please lmk in the comments and I'll update this accordingly.

Country Provider
Belgium Sporza (NL)
Canada CBC
Germany not confirmed, ZDF and ARD expected
Netherlands NOS
Spain RTVE + Teledeporte
UK BBC
USA Peacock and NBCSN, NBC

Live blogs

If you can't watch streams or if you want additional commentary, I expect some if not all of these to provide live blogging (based on previous editions). Comment if you know of more.

WAG Hezly PT

• Upvotes

Does anyone know why Hezly seems limited at PT?? Did she roll her ankle again?😣No tumbling in her floor routine, just a dance through. No vault. Looks to have purposely rolled out of her bars dismount. Mat on the beam for her series and just a layout on her beam dismount.

Other [Free to Read] U.S. men’s gymnastics got a taste of the Olympic podium. Can it be the new normal?

It became one of the enduring moments of the 2024 Paris Olympics: Stephen Nedoroscik, glasses on, stepping up to the pommel horse on the biggest stage of his life after sitting on the sidelines for hours with one job — stay on.

Two minutes and dozens of dizzying turns later, Nedoroscik’s teammates lifted him in the air after securing the first team Olympic medal for the U.S. men in gymnastics since 2008.

The U.S. men had spent years on the outside looking in. While the American women racked up golds at the Olympics, team medals remained just out of reach for the men — fifth each time in 2012, 2016 and 2021. While women’s NCAA programs can sell out arenas, multiple schools have dropped men’s gymnastics at the varsity level, and boys teams at the youth level are harder and harder to find.

Still, after a string of fourth- and fifth-place finishes at World Championships, the U.S. men won team bronze there in 2023. A year later, they reached the team podium in Paris, their first at an Olympics in 16 years.

Now, the question is whether they can stay there.

The Artistic Gymnastics World Championships kick off in Rotterdam, Netherlands, on Saturday. This is the second World Championships since Paris, but there is no team event at worlds in the year following an Olympics. That makes this team competition the first on the international stage since the Paris Games. For the U.S. men, it’ll be their first chance to show that 2024 was not a one-off, but the start of a new era.

Stephen Nedoroscik’s memorable pommel horse routine put the U.S. men back on the Olympic podium in Paris, a standard the team now hopes to keep.Daniela Porcelli / Eurasia Sport Images / Getty Images

Only one member of the 2024 team will compete in Rotterdam: Frederick Richard, 22, who also won bronze in both the all-around and team event at worlds in 2023, and who is fresh off his first all-around title at the U.S. Championships in August. Teammates Asher Hong and Brody Malone are taking the season off, while Paul Juda retired after Paris. Nedoroscik failed to make the world team after falling on pommel horse at the U.S. Championships.

Instead, the U.S. will round out the team with vets who missed out on Paris, like Shane Wiskus, 28, a 2021 Olympian and 2024 alternate who finished second in the all-around at U.S. Championships in August. Patrick Hoopes, 24, won bronze on pommel horse at worlds in 2023 and will fill Nedoroscik’s role as event specialist. Kameron Nelson, 25, can post some of the hardest difficulty scores in the world on floor, finishing fourth in the event at worlds last year. Only one team member, Danila Leykin, 19, will be making his senior debut. The U.S. will especially look to him for scores on high bar and parallel bars.

WAG Are Anton Stolyar and Lieke Wevers still with the Spanish team?

So I follow both on instagram and they have been in NL last week and are doing clinics in Istanbul right now. That seems like a crazy weird timing if you're head coach of a team going to worlds right now.

Lieke also posted she is excited to go to Rotterdam and watch the Dutch team in qualifications. Nothing about the Spanish team.

Anton still has head coach of Spain in his bio, but I'm wondering if something happened? Seems like a very short career as headcoaches, to me.

WAG World Championships Team Preview #13 - South Korea

Due to limitations regarding how many links I can upload in a post, please see the comments section for links to the methodology, score trackers, and earlier previews.

Please let me know if y'all notice any errors in any of these previews and I will be sure to correct them. Since the "realistic max" captures a gymnast's best scores of the quad on every event, it is designed to be a measure of each team's scoring potential rather than a closest-to-the-pin estimate of a team's actual score at Worlds. Based on results last quad, a team score within 2 points of a team's "realistic max" can be considered to be a very good performance.

In a change from earlier previews, the below metrics rankings and write-up now assume that Russia/WG2 will compete with a team of Roshchina, Glotova, Kayumova, Us, and Anufrieva.

South Korea - the Team

Intended difficulty: T-13th, Realistic Max: 12th

Overview

At the 2022 and 2023 World Championships and the Paris Olympics, the South Korean team consisted of the same five gymnasts. A new quad yields a new team composition; Tokyo and Paris Olympian Yeo Seojeong is joined by Shin Solyi and Lee Yunseo, two of her Paris teammates. World Championships debutante Lim Sumin and second-year senior and beam phenom Hwang Seohyun are the team’s newcomers. Although this team’s scoring potential is a bit lower than the group of teams that figure to be at the team final cutline, South Korea is part of a sextet of teams that could surprise and make the team final if two or more of Italy, Russia, Canada, Brazil, France, or Great Britain have qualification woes. Even if South Korea does not make the team final, it could earn two individual medals as it builds for trying to qualify a team to the Olympics for the second consecutive quad at next year’s World Championships.

Vault

At the Tokyo Olympics, Yeo Seojeong earned bronze by successfully landing her eponymous vault in the event final. Since last quad’s comeback after that accomplishment, she has opted to reduce her twists from two to one-and-a-half and has competed an excellent front handspring Rudi as her primary vault. With a great double-twisting Yurchenko as her second vault, Yeo can be considered a medal favorite in the apparatus final. She figures to have a slight difficulty disadvantage against Rebeca Andrade (if Andrade competes the Cheng) and Claire Pease, but should have a difficulty advantage against the rest of the field. If Andrade does not compete her Cheng, Yeo will be very competitive for gold due to the typical cleanliness of her vaults. After Yeo’s standout vaults, the rest of the vault lineup is a bit weaker. Shin Solyi, Lim Sumin, and Lee Yunseo all have full-twisting Yurchenko vaults and will be the other three gymnasts competing on this apparatus in the qualifications. Shin Solyi’s and Lim Sumin’s full-twisting Yurchenko vaults are typically stronger than Lee Yunseo’s, so the former duo would compete in the team final alongside Yeo if South Korea were to advance.

Uneven Bars

This event is the “let’s not and say we did” apparatus for South Korea. Lee Yunseo unfortunately has been a bit inconsistent on bars this year and scored below a 13 for two of her three Asian Games routines. On paper, Hwang Seohyun has the team’s highest-difficulty routine, but she has not come close to hitting it in her two attempts this year. Shin Solyi, Yeo Seojeong, and Lim Sumin all have lower-difficulty routines and South Korea will likely opt to use all of them in qualifications and two of this trio’s routines to join Lee in a potential team final lineup.

Balance Beam

Competing a thrilling back handspring to tucked-full combination, Hwang Seohyun is a medal contender on this event, which is South Korea’s highest-potential event relative to the field. Lim Sumin had a couple of routines that scored into the 13s at Asian Games and should also be a lock for South Korea’s beam lineup. Yeo has earned a 5.8 difficulty at domestic competitions, but has not reached the heights of her best domestic routines on an international stage. Her routine is probably still worth a dice roll in qualifications since, unlike Hwang on bars, Yeo has hit a couple nice beam routines this year. Lee and Lim both have routines with very similar scoring potential and their entire all-around programs also are similar in scoring potential, so the fourth routine in qualifications is a tough choice.

Floor Exercise

South Korea’s realistic max on this apparatus includes a score from Hwang; she has not competed floor since May and may not be used on this apparatus. Even if Hwang does not compete floor in qualifications, the team’s scores are tightly packed on this apparatus and therefore South Korea’s team score would be relatively unimpacted. Because the team’s scores are so similar, all-around choices may play a major role in the floor exercise lineups.

All Around

South Korea’s lineup choices in qualifications are very complicated. In 2023, recognizing the cruciality of optimizing its team score for Olympic qualification, South Korea smartly only had two all-arounders compete to maximize its team score in qualifications and the bet here is that South Korea would replicate that approach. Although she did not compete in the all-around in 2023, Yeo Seojeong seems to be a sensible all-around choice in qualifications since she both has the team’s highest potential AA score and her intended beam difficulty could make her worth using on that event. Lim Sumin has a good argument to do the all-around in qualifications since she can outscore at least one of her teammates on every event. If South Korea opts to have a third gymnast compete on all four events in qualifications, Lee Yunseo could be an option if the team forgoes Shin’s higher floor difficulty. Two South Koreans could make the all-around final with well-hit days, but any mistakes could put the gymnasts’ all-around final hopes in jeopardy.

Rhythmic RG Club Fabriano (Sofia Raffaeli's club) 🇮🇹 found guilty in financial manipulation

Investigation was launched following an administrative and financial audit of expense reimbursements requested by club for period 2020-2025. Internal audit revealed that company had improperly received unjustified reimbursements totaling €52672 in 2022 (€10692), 2024 (€16430), and 2025 (€25549).
Following an official notification from FGI, Fabriano admitted guilt and fully reimbursed amount.

Court found that:

- Angela Piccoli, club’s president and representative, failed to fulfill her duties of supervision and control as president and legal representative of company, and also caused financial damage. Taking into account mitigating circumstance of full reimbursement of damages prior to start of proceedings, decision was issued last month to pay fine of €700 and suspend her from activities for 8 months

- Maila Morosin, club’s vice president, personally prepared and sent requests for reimbursement to FGI, attaching fake documents, organized payments and denied her guilt, attempting to shift blame onto other club members. Aggravating circumstances were deemed to outweigh mitigating ones, as reimbursement of damages was neither due to her own efforts nor voluntary act.
Fine of €1250 and a 12 month suspension from activities.

- Alice Bologna, Luca Piergentili, Palmira Tittarelli - as members of board of directors failed to fulfill their supervisory duties regarding expense requests. Taking into account mitigating circumstance that damages were fully reimbursed prior to start of proceedings, they were suspended for 2 months.

- Fabriano is suspended for 12 months and given fine of €2500

MAG/WAG World Gymnastics statement on visa refusals for Russian athletes

Today is apparently the day I link to FIG press releases in this sub, but oh well, here's another one:

World Gymnastics media statement regarding the refusal of visas to three Russian athletes set to participate at the 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships in Rotterdam.

Lausanne (SUI), 14 October 2026 - The issuance of visas to all participants is a process determined solely by the Dutch authorities. World Gymnastics is not in a position to explain why a select number of application requests have been refused. World Gymnastics remains in ongoing dialogue with the Dutch authorities, the Local Organising Committee, and the Russian Gymnastics Federation.

World Gymnastics fully regrets the negative impact on the preparations of the Russian delegation and the confusion felt among the wider Artistic Gymnastics World Championships community.

MAG/WAG About camera angles

With worlds just a few days ahead of us, I've been seeing a lot of training videos, and I wish some of them would chose their angles more carefully. I'm not talking about official broadcasts, but more of coaches and federations filming and posting random training videos. I hope that the athletes get a say in what gets posted. Even so, some of them are minors and it shouldn't be on them to think about how and where these images might end up and who will see them.

It's disgusting that these elite athletes are sexualized and that we need to have this conversation, but unfortunately they are, and I feel there's a responsibility to protect them by not sharing vulnerable angles. I know world athletics published guidelines on this subject and I wish we would see similar steps taken in gymnastics.

I know I'm probably just screaming into the void here, but I needed to get it off my chest.

The press release text reads:

As a result of the settlement, the related proceedings before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) have been brought to an end.

WGYM reaffirms its commitment to promoting fairness, inclusiveness and non-discriminatory access to its competitions for all eligible athletes.

The parties will make no further comment on the terms of the settlement.

WAG Reese Esponda has to change her floor routine

Gymcastic is reporting that Reese Esponda has been told she will not get credit for the barani into her double tuck. This was credited earlier this year (including Jesolo where Donatella was present), so it’s not clear what has changed between now and then.

Is USAG not getting any feedback on routines at all? It’s very frustrating that someone who competed at an international event where a skill was credited is now being told it won’t be. What’s the point of going to international events if you can show up at Worlds and be told something different? And of course, it’s one of the most unique combos being done today that is not being credited. Way to promote interesting gymnastics, FIG - no wonder all of the routines look the same.

WAG World Championships Team Preview #12 - Italy

Due to limitations regarding how many links I can upload in a post, please see the comments section for links to the methodology, score trackers, and earlier previews.

Please let me know if y'all notice any errors in any of these previews and I will be sure to correct them. Since the "realistic max" captures a gymnast's best scores of the quad on every event, it is designed to be a measure of each team's scoring potential rather than a closest-to-the-pin estimate of a team's actual score at Worlds. Based on results last quad, a team score within 2 points of a team's "realistic max" can be considered to be a very good performance.

In a change from earlier previews, the below metrics rankings and write-up now assume that Russia/WG2 will compete with a team of Roshchina, Glotova, Kayumova, and Us.

Italy - the Team

Realistic Max: 165.748 (4th)

Intended Difficulty: 65.9 (Tied-5th)

Overview

For the past several years, it seems that Italy has been maligned by injuries. Despite the injury wave that impacted the team in 2024, Italy had its best Olympic Games performance in its history, winning team silver and beam gold and bronze. Although Olympic Champion Alice D’Amato is unfortunately injured and recovering from surgery, 2024 Olympians Elisa Iorio and Manila Esposito will both compete in Rotterdam for Italy. They will be joined by promising second-year senior Giulia Perotti and two gymnasts who turned senior last quad in Sofia Tonelli and July Marano, but have made tremendous strides this quad to earn places on this year’s team.

One surprise in this year’s team selection was that this team may not have any double-twisting Yurchenko vaults if Esposito is unable to resurrect hers, which was last competed in Spring 2025. Alternate Anthea Sisio has one, as does Benedetta Gava, who is recovering from injury. Although Esposito’s Yurchenko 1.5 appeared to regress at the Italian Absolute Championships at the end of July 2026 and seems to make her DTY look like a dream, this preview is assuming that she has her DTY because otherwise Italy’s team selection is a bit of a headscratcher. If Esposito has her DTY, or at least has her Yurchenko 1.5 at its peak, Italy appears to be in its own tier just above the team final cutline teams and decisively below the three medal favorites. Conversely, if Esposito does not compete on vault, as she did not at this year’s European Championships, Italy figures to be in a six-team pack for five team final slots along with Canada, Brazil, France, Great Britain, and the Russians.

Vault

The overview covered much of this crucial apparatus for Italy, which could be an area of relative weakness. Tonelli and Marano have solid Yurchenko 1.5 vaults, but Iorio and Perotti only have full-twisting Yurchenko vaults. As long as Esposito is able to vault, even if she only has her Yurchenko 1.5, expect Iorio to sit out vault in qualifications; this lineup decision would allow Tonelli, Perotti, and Marano to compete in the all-around. Should Italy make the team final, Tonelli and Marano are certain to compete in the lineup and would be joined by Esposito, if she is able, or Perotti. Again, Esposito is critical here; Italy could lose nearly a point in scoring potential if Esposito is not in the vault lineup.

Uneven Bars

Unlike vault, the uneven bars outlook for Italy is rosy and reasonably straightforward. Since Esposito has not competed on uneven bars this year, expect the other four gymnasts to compete in qualifications. Iorio has wonderful form here and is the most likely of any Italian to qualify for the bars event final. Likely to fall just shy of qualifying to the event final, Tonelli, Perotti, and Marano have comparable difficulty to Iorio and could surpass Iorio’s score in qualifications if Iorio has a minor mistake or two. If Italy advances to the team final, the bet here is that Iorio and Perotti will certainly compete; Iorio has the highest scoring potential on the team and Perotti has hit 10 of her 13 routines this year, which is a better rate than Tonelli’s or Marano’s. The final team final lineup spot is likely a coin flip between Tonelli or Marano; the bet here is that Tonelli would compete.

Balance Beam

Italy’s most straightforward lineup decisions are on balance beam. Expect Esposito, Tonelli, Perotti, and Marano to compete in qualifications to both optimize the team score on this apparatus and allow for three Italians to compete on all events in qualifications. Although Perotti has had some consistency issues on beam, it is likely that she would join Esposito and Tonelli in a potential team final lineup. From an individual standpoint, Esposito is the defending Olympic bronze medalist on beam and could qualify to the event final here if she hits her incredible mount sequence. As an aside, Esposito’s 2025 Jesolo scores were excluded from the “realistic max”; typically, these previews include Group 4 international meets, but the 8.8 beam execution score she received at that meet has not been replicated at Group 2 or 3 international competitions.

Floor Exercise

Since we have not seen Iorio compete floor this year, expect the other four gymnasts to compete in qualifications. Esposito has kept the same floor music for several years and typically also maintains her ability to deliver hit routines; she has hit all six of her floor exercises this year and is the defending European Champion here. Joining Esposito in the anticipated qualifications and team final lineups, July Marano likely was selected to the team for her floor exercise potential and consistency; she has scored at least a 13 on all eleven of her routines this year! Lastly, Giulia Perotti qualified for the event final at World Championships last year and would expect to slightly edge out Tonelli for the third team final routine. Both gymnasts have been a bit inconsistent on this event this year. As an aside, Esposito’s 2025 Jesolo scores were excluded from the “realistic max”; typically, these previews include Group 4 international meets, but the 8.7 floor execution score she received at that meet has not been replicated at Group 2 or 3 international competitions.

All Around

Unlike most teams, Italy has a remarkably uncomplicated all-around lineup decision. By sitting Esposito on bars, which she has not competed this year, and having Iorio compete as a bars specialist, Italy can have its other three gymnasts compete in the all-around. Tonelli and Perotti appear to be favored to advance to the all-around final over Marano. Perotti will be looking to improve on her unfortunate qualifications day from 2025, which saw her shockingly miss the all-around final.

MAG/WAG Tokyo 2020 Olympic Champions Angelina Melnikova and Viktoria Listunova have had their visa applications denied as confirmed. Russian WAG will not be eligible to compete as a full team in the World Championships.

Moscow, October 13. Olympic artistic gymnastics champion Angelina Melnikova and Viktoria Listunova was denied a visa to participate in the World Championships in Rotterdam, former head coach of the Russian national team Valentina Rodionenko told RIA Novosti. Visas were also denied to European champion Anna Kalmykova.

“Three of our passports were returned, but Melnikova, Listunova, and Kalmykova were denied visas. They haven't given any explanation at the embassy. There's no chance they'll make it to the championship, so they won't be competing there.” Rodionenko stated.

In response, the head of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), Mikhail Degtyarev, stated that the organization is sending an official request to the IOC and the International Gymnastics Federation (World Gymnastics) demanding that the World Championships in Rotterdam be stripped of their status as a qualifying tournament for the 2028 Olympics due to the violation of the principle of equal conditions for athletes.

According to this Inside Gymnastics post on facebook this morning, the Russians were given a list of who would not get a visa.

For screen readers/accessibility:
“WG2 Head Coach, Dimitry Andreev provides an update on WG2’s visa situation via Match TV.

“We received a list of several names, and we were told, “We will not accept these people…” That was it. They said, “Come, but without these people.”And those people were Melnikova, Kalmykova, and Listunova.”

➡️➡️➡️Multiple WG2 athletes have received their visas for the 2026 World Championships. The list includes:
Women:
Alyona Glotova
Men:
Arsenii Dukno
Sergei Naidin
Daniel Marinov

The remaining team members are still awaiting visas. “

Edit: Update: looks like the visas for Angelina Melnikova, Viktoria Listunova and Anna Kalmykova have officially been denied per the Gymternet on twitter.
