Bought the dip yesterday.. $400 over spot. Gold shield PCGSPR70 RP Buffalo.
I can’t keep doing this… regular buffalos have a high enough premium already, but there’s just something about RP buffalos that scratches my itch.

My grandparents were jewelers
My mother is dying, it's hard, harder than I thought... Currently agonizing (everything is being done to make sure she's as confortable as she can be), she made it very clear before she was unable to respond, that she wanted her jewelery to stay in the family.
However, since her parents were jewelers, she of course has a lot of jewelery. I will make sure every single piece or jewelery is distributed according to her wishes, but the piece on the picture, I'm keeping for myself.
I don't know why, but this golden circle, that was casually resting on a piece of furniture next to the sink in her showerroom, caught my attention despite the pain and all you have to deal with when your parent is dying. It is going on my left wrist as soon as my mother passes, don't ask me why because I don't know but I know I have to do this.
I never wear jewelery, I find it troublesome and useless. But this one will remind me of my mother and carry a piece of her with me.
The answers to my questions will not affect my decision in anyway but I would still like to know.
My grandfather was a jewel maker. He made this one, guaranteed. However it does not carry the usual marking he put on the rest of the jewels he made. This is just a completely plain gold circle that only bears the (beloved) scratches and wear marks that my mother's use has put upon it.
I would like to know the purity of that gold because my grand mother told me he used to melt the purest gold for family jewels, and it is really heavy for such a small thing. Is a density calculus with weight and volume enough to determine purity ?
I would also like to know if wearing a gold bracelet permanently needs any heads up or maintenance tip ? It is a woman's bracelet and even though I have a small wrist, as you can see on the picture it's going to fit, however putting is on or taking is off is going to require some soap and hand flexibility so I'd rather not have to take it off too often, I actually plan to keep it on indefinitely.
Thanks for reading me. Tell your parents you love them if you do.

Had to sell some gold today
So I live in pensacola and own my home it's an older home so to get insurance I would have had to do approximately 20k in repair/upgrades so I dont have insurance, what i did have was a 65ft pecan tree in my house Friday night during the storm. I had 3700 in cah saved which got the tree out of my house but still need about 3k for repairs since I can do it all myself so I sent the wife to the LCS and boom had the cash to buy materials I need and by the end of this weekend it will all be fixed. I am a foreman for a small construction company so the boss let me have my crew till Monday to fix everything

I found gold in them there hills!!!
Smoking a joint at the cemetery and I thought I saw a glint. Or maybe I was just stoned. Pride normally wouldnt have me turning back around to see if something shiny was worth anything but for some reason I checked again and found this 14k cold earring! Stamped Italy!

First American Eagle Coins Issued 40 Years Ago
Forty years ago this coming week, Americans could buy newly minted U.S. gold coins for the first time in over 50 years.
The American Gold Eagle coin was released on Oct. 20, 1986, marking the first gold coins produced by the U.S. Mint since the Great Depression.

Question If you had 10k to spend on bullion and you had to include silver in your purchase what would you buy?
Would it be entirely gold? Would you mix in silver while it’s still relatively low? What are your thoughts behind this decision?
Shitpost Decided to make my own Goldback!
I mean, it’s really just a plastic sheet with gold inside, right? 😂

Speculation Found in a Family Members Back Garden
Bit of a weird one. I found this in a family Members back garden, hidden under a flower pot that had been here since before he moved in. I have done 3X tests on it - magnet, vinegar and density test. It checks out in all 3. Non reactive to the magnet and vinegar and extremely quick to sink for the density test. It has no markings at all, which I find strange. To me, it looks genuine, but I'd love some input. I will also get it tested. Location is the South of Ireland.

Warsh Referenced Volcker and Greenspan
As the clock hit 11:00 PM CST, the news wires confirmed that Kevin Warsh took the stage in Bangkok and did the exact opposite of Volcker and Greenspan.
True to his new "quiet Fed" policy, Warsh completely refused to tip his hand, stating bluntly: "I don't prejudge meetings. I don't believe in saying now what I might do... It's a new chapter at the Fed, and we're not in that business anymore."
Volcker and Greenspan would have used their mouths to actively steer or crush the market's inflation expectations. Warsh chose absolute silence. Both old-school chairmen would tell you that by leaving the door open and refusing to act preemptively against this rising inflation trend, the Fed is simply setting up a much bigger, more violent explosion down the road.
You better be asking how those two men would of handled this inflation and proceed accordingly because Warsh will do the same.

Question How much is this Michael Anthony pendant+chain worth?
The pendant appears to be a Michael Anthony 1986 largemouth bass pendant. The thing is, I don’t have any indication of the chain other than that it is 14k gold. I see the pendant listed on eBay for around 500. Is that realistic? I’m totally out of my realm here and any help would be really appreciated. Thanks
Edit- food scale says it ways between 16-17 grams, with the chain making up about 13 of that

Question Would you guys spend more for numismatic value?
Hey people I’m debating about making my biggest gold purchase to date, I’m looking at a ms63 $10 Indian head. The premium on such a coin is a few hundred /oz over spot, so it makes me weary, but at the end of the day I have always said to myself that if I had the money my coin collection would be my main focus. I’m 19 so I think in time itll probably all wash out but I would like a second opinion is this a dumb purchase?
