Epic Games' new store is fully vibe-coded, and they're so proud of it they're taking shots at Steam

Every other company on the planet is caught in a cycle of thinking they need to constantly evolve to be good. (For the curious, look up Kaizen and you'll find the single theory that has single handedly derailed every company on the planet that has something with a user interface)

Somehow out of millions of companies run by 'smart' people Valve is the only one that understands if it isn't broken, don't fix it.

I remember the outrage from when steam changed their UI from the old green and black to the new grey and blue lol

This comment is hilarious to me. Half the comments in this thread are talking about how EGS didn't get feature parity and they'd never use it because of it, but here this comment is getting upvoted saying it's not about "evolving".

But yeah, Valve had 20 years to become what is pretty much a monopoly on the PC gaming market before they became what they are today. Too many people in this sub weren't even born when Valve released Steam. It was hated universally. But the same company that popularized the loot boxes we all hate forced it down our throat and were the only store in town so nobody had a choice.

But Valve are the good guys. 🤔
