Epic's ego is so bizarre. They made a monumental videogame, and create some solid game engines... fine.. but they are never going to beat out Steam as a storefront. Every time they try, its embarassing.

Sweeney's been saying dumb shit for over 20 years at this point. They're probably mostly bitter they misread things when they abandoned PC gaming in the early 00s to chase console money, and then couldn't buy their way into the market 20 years late to the party when they realized there was money there.

When they said PC was "dead" for gaming, Valve was building out their service putting time and effort into the platform. Eventually resulting in sales numbers that brought back various publishers to the platform.

Sweeney is honestly a massive liability and loss factor for Epic at this point, i think the company might do better with other folks at the helm. He just constantly misses the point with his opinions and tweets.
